Highly Recommend this Company for your electrical needs. I have used them several times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. This time we had recently bought a new dishwasher to replace an old defective one . When the new dishwasher was delivered it could not be installed because the old machine was hard wired & the new one required an outlet to plug it in . I called RM Electric on Friday , explained what I needed (disconnect power from old machine & add receptacle under sink) and they scheduled an appointment on Monday between 1&3 PM. About 11:00 AM on Friday from the technician saying that he had some free time in his schedule and asked if it was alright if he could come over early . I agreed . The Electrician Juan showed up about 15 minutes later . Juan introduced himself at the door , I showed him what needed to be done , he quoted me a price , then went to work . He worked in the kitchen for about 45 minutes and completed his work . The installation was exactly what I requested , great craftsmanship and cleaned up his work space like it was before he started the work . Juan did an excellent job. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I called at 8:30 AM and left a message on their voicemail. Roy (the owner) called me back in five minutes. I explained that I had a serious problem with all the kitchen outlets going off and I was not able to reset them, either at the GFI outlets or in the breaker box outside. He told me he would get someone there between 10 AM and Noon. Ed arrived at about 10:45 AM and went to work diagnosing the problem. It took him about forty five minutes to discover that the electrician who had originally wired up the new breaker box (last year) had neglected to tie off the "pigtails" properly in the junction boxes. The two wires had not been trimmed or wrapped together. The only contact between them was the arching of electricity between the two ends inside the cap holding them together. There were several of these pigtails put together in each of the two junction boxes all the same way, UNFINISHED! Now I understood why I was having brief power outages since we moved in seven months previously. Ed went on to explain that eventually the wires would burn and I would have had no power anywhere in the house. Ed did a thorough job of repairing the shoddy workmanship of the previous electrician and replaced the GFI outlets in my dining room (next to the kitchen) where they were not needed. He cleaned up everything afterwards and left me with all working outlets in my kitchen and dining room. What a relief! He assured me I wouldn't have this problem again. The bill was very reasonable considering the amount of work he did and just for the fact alone that he was able to properly diagnose the problem and correct it. I had another electrician visit my house the evening before and he wanted to rewire the entire side of my house at an enormous cost. One last thing that I appreciated was how Ed explained what he found and showed me the problem. He also showed me how he fixed each junction box to correct the problem. Just my experience with RM folks... I needed an electrician in a hurry. Background info: I do have some skills but my knowledge of electrical related fixes are limited to basic installation of fixtures and outlets. Nothing more, nothing less. Knowing this, I figured I didn't want to end up with a Don King type hairdo ya know, so I looked on Yelp and happened to find RM Electrical service. I read the reviews and while there weren't too many, I was pretty impressed with what I did read nonetheless. Plus...They are local to me and that is a huge, HUGE plus as well. (I like to keep it local if I can so I can support my 'Pedro brotha's and sista's local businesses, ya know). Made a next day appointment, (next day only due to the late hour of the day that I called), electrician showed up and after a relatively short trouble-shooting sesh, he found and fixed the problem! Basic fee's are $75/hr + whatever parts may be needed. Not sure if that's great or not but I was pretty freakin' happy afterward so that should tell ya sumthin'.
