Mehdi responded to my email inquiry very quickly. But he was also very quickly in telling me that I need to spend $3,400 for upgrading my circuit box, while the other estimates (based on same photos) said I didn't need that and estimates are in range lower than $1,000. When he came to see the box at the house, he took it apart and I asked questions (I am an engineer) re: the current requirements and voltage requirements since there is already 240V circuit in the box (made by GE). He couldn't answer or did not want to answer and just walked away. This is very poor customer service attitude and I also felt he talked down at me. It was a waste of time. Just had the pleasure of working with Armor Electric and would highly recommend them. I had a small/medium sized project ($2K) and went about it to get 3 bids for it. My first electrician (Powell Electric) looked at the project and me (I am female) and gave me a ridiculous bid of more than double. I knew what the project should cost, because I have done several remodels, and quickly waved goodbye to them. Armor was my 3rd quote. Mehdi scheduled and arrived as promised to give a quote. All were too busy that day to make house calls, so I made an appointment a few days out with Armor because of their Yelp rating and proximity. No one ever showed up. No call, no show. The first time we hired them they did a great job replacing circuits in our house and installing a new panel. They finished it on time and at a good price. Even their handy man who did the patching was good. So we hired them again this year for installing a few fans some recessed lights. This year they have gotten very busy with other jobs. The fan installations were rushed, fans suffered damage (even though they replaced the globe) and we still have wobbles in expensive Casablanca fans. The floor was scratched badly in a room and even the arrangement of switches were imperfect. What a great find! Half my house had intermittent electricity. I called a few places at 7am on a Saturday. Mehdi called me back at 7:15 (only one other called later at 11am), discussed my issues, and explained his service charges. He arrived promptly at 9am as per our call. Great job! all in all, we would definitely use them for their honesty in price, workmanship, reliability and communication. We first contacted Armor electric a few months back for electrical inspection of the house we were trying to purchase. Medi was on time and very thorough. He didn't just inspect the wiring. He answered all our questions and gave a few helpful suggestions. He patiently talked me through all my zero-electrical-knowledge Q's as well as my husband's as an engineer. When it came time to get our panel box replaced, we comfortably called him back after interviewing four other electricians! It was an old house and we needed someone who, without up-selling does a great job that not only we could enjoy living in it hassle free but also the work would add to the price of our home when it came time to sell. We are extremely happy with our choice and trust him for more work in the future! He is a great lighting designer as well as a great electrician and a contractor. His crew took some extra time to clean up the space they were working in, after finishing the job.
