What a gem we found on our way home from Palm Desert. The pastries are perfectly made. Even though most were sold out we enjoyed the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon roll . Coffee is hot and flavorful . Barista was super friendly. We will be back . Great spot to stop on our ride back to LA!

Didn't mean to eat the entire bit, yet I did!

What a delightful experience. Philippe greets you personally, whilst hustling crafted drinks. Attentive to make exactly what you're craving. This cinnamon roll, though looked flakey, was so soft, not too sweet just the right flake, crunch. Delicious! And this Chai Latte perfect. Go on and head in and treat yo'self!

I've been coming here since the day they opened and I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! This is on my list of top three coffee shops in the desert! I love the coffee, it's always on point. The pastries are by far the best in any coffee shop in the valley. So delicious, fresh and almost too beautiful to eat! Service is amazing because the owner, Philippe, is a one man show and he does an excellent job. The updated and renovated dining area is fantastic and there's plenty of seating. There's seating outside as well. My favorite drink is a lavender latte. You pretty much can't go wrong with anything here. Come and try it you won't be sorry. In fact, if you're local, you'll probably come here over and over again.

Phillipe is a craftsman of deliciousness. From Cappuccinos to...well, I don't remember the name of this but just go get you one.

The best french pastries in the entire area. The owner works hard and is kind. He does run out of pastries at times. The ham & cheese croissant is the BEST!!!

Great place for some fresh coffee and authentic Parisian pastries. Had the mocha latte with oat milk and whip. Also tried the iced hazelnut latte. Enjoyed the texture and flavor of both. The pastries, apricot danish, berries pastry, Madagascar almond custard pastry, were all delicious. Service was sincere and friendly.

Coconut filling, glazed fresh pineapple, flakey pastry. Yum!!!

This is a must go. Although it is primarily focused on coffee and other beverages, I love the amazing French pastries. The case is full of some choices that make it difficult to choose. My personal favorite is the pineapple coconut pastry. Imagine a flat croissant that is light and fluffy and filled with a sweet coconut filling, with fresh pineapple sliced across the top and nicely glazed. The desserts are not only delicious, but they are also beautiful. Plus if you're an iced tea drinker like I am there are many variations he has on just black to green teas. The owner works both in front and in the back of the restaurant and is a delight to talk to. Authentic French. On the surface it might be a little difficult to find, but trust me, it's worth it. You've got to go!

Wow. From freshly baked pastries to EXCELLENT Lavazza (one of my favorites) coffee, I had no idea this place was here. I don't head to RM very often, but should I be out there again, definitely going back. Great service, very friendly, and nice shop! Well kept and clean.

The Spinach & Feta pastry was divine! It was full of flavor and the outside pastry was light and crispy.

First off that BQL (banana Que Latte) was spot on *AMAZING*. The langka (jackfruit) and banana were all in there. Like you totally can taste it. It was balanced so well. Tho, I think it should be turon Latte (spring roll wrapped banana with jackfruit inside) not Banana que. But totally love this drink!! this alone make me want to go back again. its a small boutique but clean, and nice wall photos too.the moment we walked in the coffee aroma welcomed us. I love it!! Other than the BQL we ordered BSL (brown sugar) they do have milk alternative such as pistachio, oat, almond, etc. We didn't get to see other options for pastries since most were all gone by the time we got there. Overall, I would def recommend this place for anyone visiting PSP, Cath City, Palm Dessert, Indio or Coachella. Five starts would totally recommend and will becoming back in the near future. Thank you for bringing such good drinks to the Valley!

They have a pretty creative menu with a lot of unique syrups and drink concoctions so it made it hard for me to choose. I asked the worker for her recommendations and she kindly explained the menu to me. I was sold when I heard about the cafe de olla being made in-house and fresh at that -- she pointed to the vat right behind her. So, I got the iced cafe de olla latte and it was the perfect sweetness with hints of spice that added flavor to the coffee. I would order this again and wanted to come back here the same day. There was no line when I went but they was a line forming when I was leaving. There's no seating area so it's more of a grab-and-go place.

The funny thing? While the retail was still shuttered, the cafés and entertainment spots were already buzzing. That contrast -- empty storefronts on one side, the smell of fresh coffee on the other -- gave the whole place a quiet but inviting vibe. I walked into Xanti's and ordered two drinks: a strong macchiato (because sometimes you just need that punch) and a hot lavender matcha for balance. Total was $11.25, which felt more than fair. I tried paying with a $100 bill, but the barista politely explained they couldn't take it. No stress, no attitude -- just professional and smooth. Service really stood out here. The barista, a friendly guy with calm energy, not only took the order but noticed I'd settled into my phone at the table. A couple of minutes later, he personally brought both drinks over. That simple gesture made the experience feel way more personal than you'd expect from a mall coffee stop. As for the drinks? The macchiato was bold, clean, and exactly the kind of kick I needed. The lavender matcha surprised me -- creamy, floral, not too sweet, just enough to feel like a treat. Together, they struck a perfect balance: one to wake me up, one to slow me down. So yeah, it's technically "just" a coffee spot in a mall, but don't let that fool you. Between the timing, the vibe, and the barista's extra touch, it was one of those experiences that sticks.

Thankfully tea shops have become more regular here in the otherwise asian treat deprived desert. Chakaa Tea Shoppe is located at "The River" which is a small outdoor shopping spot situated around a manmade 'river'. The location used to be a starbucks and is perfectly set up for a tea shop to take up residence. Now for the honest, the tea is about average, I do appreciate the ample ordering options of non dairy milks. This time I ended up getting a coffee with boba as my treat vs my normal tea order. The staff is always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The boba was also VERY good and well made vs some places that provided under cooked or over cooked boba. A coffee with boba and a small tip ran me up almost $10 which is a little expensive for my taste but it IS a treat after all and not an every day buy. Of all the times I've come into this location they always seem to be warm inside and prefer to not run the AC. I tend to sweat a little bit which is a bit of a drag considering that they have tons of seating. I probably wouldn't drive to the river JUST for boba but if I'm in the area shopping in need of a pick me up to go this would be a good stop.

We arrived at 8 AM on Thursday and sat near the front of the restaurant. There were three other tables occupied at the time. I really enjoyed the Bees' Knees latte. My husband enjoyed his latte and my son had iced coffee. Beverages are served in unique and very pretty porcelain teacups. We ordered the Bananas Foster waffle with sausage patties, the half order of prosciutto avocado toast with eggs on the side, and my son had the chilaquiles. This is the kind of place where you can savor an old time atmosphere with many things to see as you enjoy conversation. This is not a fast food restaurant. The staff are warm and friendly. The half order of prosciutto avocado toast was really delicious. The bread was lovely and dense and could have been toasted a little bit lighter for ease in cutting through the vegetables. (This was easily the perfect size for a meal, and the whole order is equally beautiful and generous.) My husband is still swooning over his lovely waffle and sausage patties. He gave his dish a solid 4 stars and talked about it all the way home. My son had chosen the red chilaquiles which had just the right spice level. The place filled up steadily until we left about an hour and a half later. We have a patio outside, which is receiving a new sunshade and lights. Mona the owner explained to us that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They will be serving dinner. She was warmly greeted by people who are obviously regulars to the café.
