I moved to a different practice. It was a lie. Someone from my office with the same insurance company and coverage told me they love our insurance because it pays for all services; the exact opposite they told me. I understand that people have the right to refuse a service, but to lie about it feels UTTERLY unprofessional and very disappointing. We didn't do anything to deserve this treatment. I feel like they discriminated against my origin and skin color. We're living strange times for sure. Also for those who are wondering, no, we weren't admonished or called out for any reason or misbehavior. I wish they would have been honest and said they didn't want our business. The last cleaning was the worst dentist experience I've ever had. The hygienist, Sherri, was extremely rough despite me informing her I was on blood thinners and have fragile gums. She was forcefully scrapping my teeth and kept scraping and stabbing my gums to the point of me nearly crying from the pain, along with causing swelling and a lot of bleeding that didn't stop for 4 hours after. She told me she had to help another hygienist and would be back in a few minutes. I was laying there for 10 minutes, waiting for her to come back. My experience with Dr. Meyer was awful as well. He was well aware of my health conditions that lead to tooth decay but still spent the time lecturing me, saying that it's because of my diet and that I should only be drinking water (when that's what I drink 99.9% of the time), never giving me a chance to remind him that the decay is not the result of ANY decision I make. After discussing the issue with the office manager, who was very kind, I learned both Sherri and Dr. Meyer denied ever treating me that way. That same day, I had another appointment to get some work done and Dr. Meyer was very impatient with the hygienist (a different one), who seemed like she was new. She had asked me if I was feeling what she was doing and I said I was. Dr. Meyer came back in and she told him this and he simply responded "she's fine" and resumed the work, leaving me in pain the entire hour and a half and in the days afterwards. That could have been avoided if Dr. Meyer a) demonstrated that he cares about his patients and b) read my chart where it is noted MULTIPLE TIMES that I require more local anesthetic due to the same condition that impacts my teeth. The compassionate care I once had here seems to be long gone.

He did the one and I ended up having my gums cut up by the drill. I ended up getting an infection that he had to order antibiotics and painkillers to get me any relief. The tooth that I wanted to be first priority was at the bottom of his list. I now have a broken front tooth that could have been prevented.

Over priced treatment with total lack of patient care. I have contact this office 3 times after an…read moreinitial to possibly find a different Ortho treatment that can be affordable. After the third attempt, I finally receive a call back to be told they would need call me again to figure out the price of treatment. Days have gone by and no call was made. If you prefer over paying and having low quality customer service, this seems the place to go to. Just an FYI, when asking them why do braces cost more at their office, the answer was because of the lack of a competitive market and "their lab costs more" for the same material any other Ortho office gets. In other words, they jack up the price for absolutely no reason but greed.
