tldr; 7-8 hours late, decides ON moving day that he "changed the policy" and wants to charge additional money for gas when he had included this cost in the original agreement. GET A WRITTEN AGREEMENT if you do use them.
I never write reviews, let alone negative ones, but I had to because I want to warn other people about this company. He initially told me that the total cost would include the price of the truck and the gas for the move. This was a verbalized agreement and there was no written agreement. This was a huge mistake on my end that I'll never make again. GET A WRITTEN AGREEMENT. I made a deposit and the remaining amount was to be paid on moving day. He told me that they would get to my place sometime between 9-10am. At 9:36am, he tells that they won't be there until noon. Sure, no problem. He texts me at 10:40am that he's finishing up with his earlier job and heading my way, and also could I grab the remaining amount that I owe in cash. I say that I will and double check the time of arrival. Now he tells they will arrive sometimes between 12:30-1pm. I get the cash, go home, and continue to wait.
He texts me at 12:13pm that he'll get to the UHaul place at 1pm and getting the truck will take around 15 minutes before heading my way. He also includes in this message that he needs me to cover the cost of the gas. I am STILL managing to remain relatively calm despite all of these massive inconveniences. I respectfully state that in our original conversation, he told me that the cost of the truck and gas were included in the total. This man actually responds with, "Yes but we have changed policy, due to rising gas prices. I usually included the gas cost in with the labor. We can no longer do that or we lose money." So he decided ON moving day that his policy has changed and now wants to charge me with more money. This is also while he is now 4-5 hours late at this point. The actual nerve of this person is laughable.
He makes some other statements that are completely unprofessional about his business and having a wife and kids at home that he needs to provide for. So now I have to feel bad for him and take care of what he needs? Again, unbelievable. It gets worse. He calls me at around 1pm to tell me that the truck that he reserved is still in use and won't be available for another hour and a half. I want to also mention here that I'm moving with two cats and thinking that I would've ALREADY arrived at my new place, I gave them calming meds, withheld food and water for the journey, and now I've done all of that for no reason at all.
TWO HOURS LATER. I ask him when he will get here. They finally arrive at 3:45pm. So. This guy is 7-8 hours late for the move effectively fucking up my entire day, evening, and entire next day as I had work beginning in the morning with hardly an apology, decides on moving day to charge me additional money for gas when he had initially included that cost in the total, and was overall the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. read more
