Absolutely phenomenal two-man moving team! From a last minute request with customer service answering all my questions to the team keeping me updated on their arrival time. They both kept constant communication throughout the unloading process. I value the genuine care they provided to our belongings as well rather than rushing through. Highly recommend as a first choice because they'll find a way to make it happen. These examples all told me that they too are being taken care of by their leadership and enjoy what they do. Cal's Moving & Storage - Movers putting on straps to move a dresser packed full of books. - Movers Near Me - Salem, Oregon

A bit of a bumpy ride, but in the end I am satisfied, as you can see by the 4-star rating. We were moving about an hour to a new home and chose Cal's as our mover, having them pack at the old home, then move and unpack at the new home. I'll start with the good stuff: the people who came to our home to do the packing, moving, and unpacking were great. Our headaches were all administrative. I'll list them and then explain how they were resolved. The person who came to the old home to estimate the job -- or someone else back at the office -- missed the mark. They scheduled a half day to pack and one day to move and unload. In the end, it took a full day to pack and two days to move and unload. This didn't cause any real problems for us, just a lot of scrambling and phone calls to deal with the unexpected. The other issue was some unintended overcharging, on top of a final cost that ended up well above the original estimate. On a call before the final bill was written up, I was told we wouldn't incur extra costs for the move and unpacking taking two days instead of one. My wife ended up signing the final bill without me present, and that promised adjustment hadn't made it onto the paperwork, so the overcharge went through unquestioned. After some back and forth, we were refunded the overage. A second charge we disputed was a credit card surcharge that hadn't been disclosed upfront, either in our planning conversations or in the signed contract. Cal's refunded that fee as well once we raised it. Both issues were resolved within about a week of us raising them, which I appreciated. The reason for four stars instead of five is the estimate itself: it was about $4,500, and we ended up paying just over $7,000. I was actually surprised by the $4,500 figure at the time, since other estimates I'd gotten for this move were in the $7,000-$8,000 range. In the end, the final cost was about what it should have been, the original estimate was just way off. read more

After the issue of the TV, I called Corvallis management and achieved a good balance of payment. I can appreciate a company with some accountability and communication. read more

This company was so easy to work with and very understanding! Our closing date changed several times and each time they would adjust their schedule to accommodate our changes. I would like to personally acknowledge each member who was so helpful but I would hate to leave anyone out. Everyone went above and beyond to sooth our anxiety during this move. Their support was very much appreciated! I will reccommend Cal's Moving to anyone needing moving services. Thank you so much!! read more

Great crew. Communication and letting us understand how they are handling the fragile items. They all came out just fine. They used there time in a good manner. They were fun to joke around with. Relaxed and not stressed. Would highly suggest use them for any project besides moving as well. read more

From start to finish this was a five str experience. Reached out for a quote on their website on the Friday of a holiday weekend not expecting to hear back until after the holiday I received an email inquiring about move dates and size of move within 24 hours. Edgar and Jorge were our move day helpers and they were wonderful to work with. They were a little more expensive than movers we have used in the past, but they were worth it. If you are moving, give them a call. read more

I've used this company twice. They were very attentive and personable. I would use them again. I loved how they created a clear expectation on pricing and hours to complete the job before they started. read more

Jon and Chris S. we're very quick and efficient movers. I would highly recommend them.

Austen & Eric A. from Cal's Moving are an awesome team and are very professional. They interact well together and easy going manner put my husband and I at ease during this stressful time of moving as they filled our pod. Both of them were very mindful and respectful of our furnishings, wrapped and packed them securely as if they were moving their own homes. I would highly recommend Cal's Moving Help and would hire this company again without hesitation. Austen & Eric A. thank you!!! read more

I am grateful to Cal's Moving Help for taking a stressful move and turning it into an easy, fast, and streamlined experience. Peter and Caden arrived exactly on time and were both extremely professional. They were able to do work that I and my friends could not do, including disassemble (and reassemble) a bed in order to get it moved. They had the right tools and the knowledge to get my move completed without any delays. Even their managers/support staff answered my questions and helped me put out fires before the move ever took place. When/if I need to move again, I know I'll use them for this service. I'll also gladly recommend them to anyone who asks. read more

Hired these guys from a Yelp search and could not be happier! Had two guys for two hours and was able to empty the large PODs container as well as have them help more furniture around. They even hauled away some of the boxes and moving supplies. Awesome job, good workers, fast service, good price. Highly recommend! read more

We used Cal's twice within 1 yr. and found the team of Angel & John, the first time and Angel & Saul (they're brothers), the second time, to be amazing! They're respectful, trustworthy, efficient, professional, quick, and friendly. We will use this company for all our moves and request for the same guys. Thanks Cal's and many thanks to Angel & Saul! Signed, BLT-Copperfield Apts. read more

They were helpful and got the job done quickly. However, after we uncovered furniture we discovered several pieces had the finish removed by the way they taped them, a wingback chair had a broken leg, and there were scratches on many items. I don't know that I would recommend them....or is this what happens with all moving companies??? read more

I have moved several times in my life but have never had the excellent service I just experienced with Cal's Moving Help. Matt, Angel, and Antonio were professional, fast, courteous, efficient, and very careful with our furnishings. I will be using them again! I highly recommend this moving company! read more

I used this company for a move that should take 4 hours. The guys milked the job, took lunch in the middle of the move, went to the wrong location wasting more time, then had to take two trips when everything should have fit in one. They then went to get gas which took another 30 minutes. They were throwing items over the bed frame and letting them crash down on the items behind. They tore a bag as it was thrown, which my clothes were in causing them to spill out on boxes. They TAPED a cherry wood cabinet closed and because they had NO idea how to load a storage unit I had to rent a second one. I put out blankets. To cover and protect my brand new couch they failed to use. One move became hostile when I questioned their process. read more

I had the pleasure of having Edgar & Angel help me move today. I cannot say enough great things about these guys. Fast, efficient, professional, took all necessary covid measures, and the list goes on and on. These guys literally saved my back and time. If I could give 100 stars I would. Thanks to Cal's Moving, my move-out and storage was a breeze. Calvin and his team provided attractive pricing, great communication and outstanding service. They made moving stress-free. Arrived on time, protected door and door jambs, had all the materials and know how for a quick paced move out. Great attitude also. Team leader, Jake, and his crew of Brody, Ryan and Noel were excellent to work with. All acted as if they truly cared about my move. I would highly recommend Cal's Moving to anyone and will refer my family and friends to Cal's. read more

We've used Cal's Moving Help twice to load and unload BlueBox Storage. Both times they treated us and our belongings respectfully. - 5 rating!! A BIG FAT negative, 5 times over!! This was the worst experience of my life!! This company will misjudge your move and then on the day of the move, leave your things out in the driveway, and hold them literally for ransom until you pay an additional $5000 for their mistake in having to get another truck. They say things like, "this happens all the time" or "we are a business and we wouldn't be in business unless we made a profit"!! As my items arrived on the east coast they had a motley crew meet me at the storage unit; I had no idea who these men were - they didn't look at me when I spoke to them and fist-bumped me instead of shaking hands upon arrival! They are ill-prepared and highly unprofessional. I would never do business with this company. They also left for lunch and were gone for over 2 hours! Communication was abhorred as they promised to keep me informed but highly lacked the skill in follow-through and they ran behind constantly, with workers sleeping in and being nonchalant about my items and attachment to cherished heirlooms - they have no concept of professionalism. This was a cross-country move - a very stressful time and they couldn't have cared less. Cal, the owner is aloof and has others speak for him as he is essentially deemed "the man behind the curtain", who is of little responsibility in managing his own company. -Good luck! I say run as fast as you can to find another company!! read more

These guys are amazing. They did such a great job moving us out of Corvallis. I felt so much of my stress about moving lifted when they started loading up my stuff. I really enjoyed working with Brian, Jake, and Meeks. Thanks Cal's Moving Help!! read more

This is my first time to moving and really lucky to have them to help me. The day we asked them came is a raiding day, the crews are so smart/ flexible and all so polite. They quickly decided to move all items from upstairs to downstairs while the rain is heavy and they moved out all items when there's no rain. Also they considered my house, they put the blue carpet to avoid the wet shoes to damage my carpet. With their help, they really moving all my furniture and lots of boxes (over 300 boxes) to fit in one trailer. I don't know how they organized and put all in one trailer because I am so worried to already order 2 trailer because I don't believe all my items can fit in one trailer. They're also helping me hauled away all unwanted items/ furniture with great deal. Overall they really helped me to save lots money and saved my time to load /haul away just in one day. I can't imagine how I can do this all by myself. I really appreciate is their crews, Peter, Cris, Morgan & Kameron are the best. Thank you for helping me move. read more
