It was simple this time, from point A to B, then C. They pick up a new couch for me. I had one of the same workers from last time. He was still professional and a hard worker. I had one mirror hiccup that something got put on the truck that wasn't going with me, but that was my fault for not giving better instructions. They offer to put together my new couch, but I had that covered. I need them to move the heavy stuff. They did another outstanding job, and I will recommend them to anyone. Side Note: Photograph all your things before and after. If something gets broken, you need proof. They do offer free insurance, but they need documentation.

A bit of a bumpy ride, but in the end I am satisfied, as you can see by the 4-star rating…read more We were moving about an hour to a new home and chose Cal's as our mover, having them pack at the old home, then move and unpack at the new home. I'll start with the good stuff: the people who came to our home to do the packing, moving, and unpacking were great. Our headaches were all administrative. I'll list them and then explain how they were resolved. The person who came to the old home to estimate the job -- or someone else back at the office -- missed the mark. They scheduled a half day to pack and one day to move and unload. In the end, it took a full day to pack and two days to move and unload. This didn't cause any real problems for us, just a lot of scrambling and phone calls to deal with the unexpected. The other issue was some unintended overcharging, on top of a final cost that ended up well above the original estimate. On a call before the final bill was written up, I was told we wouldn't incur extra costs for the move and unpacking taking two days instead of one. My wife ended up signing the final bill without me present, and that promised adjustment hadn't made it onto the paperwork, so the overcharge went through unquestioned. After some back and forth, we were refunded the overage. A second charge we disputed was a credit card surcharge that hadn't been disclosed upfront, either in our planning conversations or in the signed contract. Cal's refunded that fee as well once we raised it. Both issues were resolved within about a week of us raising them, which I appreciated. The reason for four stars instead of five is the estimate itself: it was about $4,500, and we ended up paying just over $7,000. I was actually surprised by the $4,500 figure at the time, since other estimates I'd gotten for this move were in the $7,000-$8,000 range. In the end, the final cost was about what it should have been, the original estimate was just way off.

As a single mom I was stressed enough trying to move and they were exactly the help I needed . They are very nice and professional also understanding with my situation . They are great at what they do (Tetris mind ;)) and they know how to pack a truck . Also ,I was afraid of driving the truck and they were nice enough to drive it for me !!
