you can't go wrong with this Italian classic. I always prefer to sit in the bar or outside dining. It's a lot more of a casual feel for me. They have gluten-free rotini pasta and a gluten-free chicken Parm. They were also flexible to make some other things gluten-free as well. The staff at Rizzos's is amazing and kind. they make you feel so welcome and like you're sitting down to dinner at a family table.

We got here @2:30 just to see how it is only to find out they don't open until 4:00, but our server said let me see if he will let me set you. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Service is a 5X5 star in my book! They bring out a basket of bread with butter. I chose the salted caramel apple mule to try. Very good, really tastes like a caramel apple. The restaurant is decorated for fall with some Halloween touches mixed in Food was excellent

Second time in a month visiting Rizzo's but this time we sat on the patio to hear a favorite local band. Here's a tip...if you want to hear the music and still be able to talk, ask for a table far from the stage area. The band was great but too loud to carry on a conversation at the table without yelling. Previously I had see the antipasto salad on the menu and I was curious about it. It sounded great. So I ordered the SMALL as my entree. Holy Moly! It was huge! Piles of olives, pickled peppers and cauliflower, artichokes, onion, tomato and Italian meats and cheeses with bread sticks and blue cheese and anchovies on the side. Whew! All that on top of a bed of iceberg lettuce with house dressing. I ate as much as I could and still brought home TWO large take out containers! This is something a table of 4-6 could share as an appetizer if you wanted to. I can't image how big the large is . Friends enjoyed the lasagna and beef braciole. No one went away hungry that's for sure! Rizzo's continues to be a consistent good Italian restaurant in our area. They offer weekly specials and happy hours on Friday.

The parking can be a bit difficult to secure an easy spot as it's usually quite busy- so be sure to have a reservation! The Greensburg spot also has a unique upstairs seating area that we like to have if possible. Now for the main event- the food- it's amazing! From salads to pasta to pizza, you won't be disappointed. The whipped butter served with the bread is worth shouting out too! The chicken Parmesan, Alfredo, and pasta alla vodka were all delicious in the past- I would order any of them again. Eventually I had to go to the hostess and let her know that we'd been sitting there the entire time without even being offered water. She did go inquire after our server, who then came over and took our order. So already our experience was tainted. Things seemed fine after that, but once we finished our meal we ordered dessert to go. The server brought boxes for our leftovers, took the dessert order, and then disappeared. Our party of five had to leave, and I was left sitting at the table with a toddler about 15 minutes after the meal ended waiting for the check. She eventually returned and apologized, saying she couldn't find the cake we ordered and had to go look for it. She then asked if we wanted bags for our to-go containers, after everything had already been packed up. Normally, the containers and bag are brought to the table together for leftovers. The last thing we wanted to do was wait another 10 minutes for bags for our leftovers. Overall, the experience was frustrating and poorly handled.

There was one day that I think they must have been having an off night because everyone seemed crazy stressed and very short with us when questions were asked. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the side salad was. It was a great balance/mix of ingredients with delicious dressing. My main entree (Strozzapretti) was tasty but a bit seemed like there was a bit too much grease/oil or something that made the dish seem heavier than it needed to be. I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. The space is very cute and you can't really miss it even with it being in an executive building. It's a smaller area but it can seat a good amount of people. We noticed they had a pasta making class so maybe next time we're in town, we can do it. The red sangria had a great balance where it wasn't too sweet. We didn't do dessert but we did enjoy the digestif at the end with limoncello and my spouse ate the amaretti cookies as I couldn't.

We have our napkin and silverware but no plate for bread or appetizers. The waitress brought the bread but no plates. We asked for plates and extra napkins again. The waitress placed the tray holder up and we received our meal minus the plates and tarter sauce. Again we asked for plates, napkins and tarter sauce. The waitress left but kept the tray holder up at our table. The tray holder stayed there for two more passes by by our waitress. I finally got up and returned it to the original position against the wall. My wife had the vegetable of the day. It was horrible, no taste. There wasn't any butter or seasoning on the vegetables. With 50 years of experience (he and his wife own this place), you can take advantage of the twilight of his career and the height of his experience. Flavio's is a dress-up sit-down fine dining experience. It was clean, with ample parking in its private lot next door. Lots of one-way roads so be aware of that. We arrived at 4:55. Could not go inside until 5:05. We had reservations. The place started to fill up to 50% capacity (10 tables total, maybe 20 could be fit if needed) around 6:30pm. Somehow we left around 7:45pm, even though our main course was finished at 6:30pm. This is an experience, not a quick bite to eat. There is a bar but you can't just walk in and go there. Everyone was seated in the dining room, which has two parts. My 79 -year old father was told that this was the best filet mignon in the entire United States and I agree that it is very well done perfectly medium rare at request with a crusty exterior and perfect grill marks. The seafood and gnocci pasta plate looked amazing but was enjoyed by someone else at our table, but it looked really good. Everything has an upcharge so expect to drop some cash. Get the Petite Syrah no 48 wine to compliment your dinner. You won't regret it. We had the seasoned potatos, it's OId Bay seasoning, similar to steak fries but made from a baked potato. Very nice. We had the broccoli, it was wonderful. I had the caeser salad, it was fine. Lots of cheese and anchovies are an option. We had it with our meal. Upcharge $5 ... People liked the italian dressing on their house salads but it was nothing spectacular or memorable. Upcharge $5 .. they also offer the classic "Wedge" salads as an option for $7. The standard marinara was nothing to write home about. My wife complained her Chicken Provencial was too sweet. Her side of penne alla marinara was boring. The gnocci was great though. Have the gnocci. For my side, I paid an upcharge of $7.50. The spaghetti or linguine or whatever it was was obviously a prepped reheat, whereas the gnocci were made on the spot, and the penne is the standard side so at least it was made that night. I had the puttanesca. It had too many onions, but the olives were nice. My default choices were penne or gnocci with marinara, or a potato (baked or "seasoned" as fried sticks). Dessert: We shared a piece of cheesecake with the table, and it tastes like tiramisu. I had to force the rest of it down since no one would finish it. It had a spongy tiramisu-like bottom and was flavored of lemons. I suspect it was made in house. My wife had the Spumoni. She liked it but didn't finish it. I had the Jamaican Coffee (liquor coffee drink). It was fine but overall not necessary to finish your meal and very sweet. We had the oysters (broiled). Good. I personally like them "on the half shell" but no one was willing. 6 oysters. We had the shrimp cocktail. Nice shrimp, great horse radish. 5 shrimp. We tipped well. Over 30% because how much longer this place will be in operation is anyone's guess. It's possible, if you are choosy, to spend less than $50 on your meal but we spent well over that each. Four people $313 with a lot of upcharges and top-end dishes, a bottle of Syrah, 1 beer, desserts and three apps and everyone got a salad (cost extra). Oh yeah the bread. It was fine. Reminiscent of "Mancini's" .. hard crust fluffy airy interior. Was not the most amazing bread but it fit the place.

A good amount of sauce, although not super evenly distributed. Perfect pasta and a really good, balanced vodka sauce. Really enjoyed this. The Sfogliatelle, it was my first time trying anything like this. It wasn't super sweet or all that flavorful at all, and was somewhat small. A bit lemony.
