Email responses incredibly slow. As a result, we sourced our own venue and when the date was unavailable to Lustre events, we made the decision to release them. They refused to refund any portion of our $4k deposit. Over the course of 6 weeks, we estimate Melissa spent less than 3 hours on us, we never even met Morgan. We requested a partial refund (from our perspective this was generous) to which she immediately gaslighted us... launching into what appeared to be a heavily scripted response, it was clear she's done this to others, dishonest vendor, very important lesson to always read the contract! We were blown away with their services from start to finish. They are thoughtful and observant in obtaining information from their clients about design preferences. When we received their design plan for us, we could not have been more thrilled. They captured all the elements of the design and wedding experience that we were hoping for and even suggested additional special elements (like a Tiki bar) that we hadn't thought of ourselves, but absolutely loved. Melissa and Morgan were also thoughtful in helping us plan the multicultural aspects of our wedding, weaving together seamlessly different cultural traditions. The end result was unique, elegant and received glowing feedback from all of our guests. In addition to all of this, Melissa and Morgan were extremely organized and on top of our wedding timeline. Of note, our wedding was not the easiest to plan, as we live in NYC and were planning during the pandemic. This did not prove to be a barrier as Melissa and Morgan held Zoom meetings with us and handled everything on the ground in Toronto until we had our final planning meetings in person. We felt completely confident in them, even as two type-A New Yorkers! Lastly and perhaps most importantly, they are an absolutel joy to work with. Their warmth and positivity put us at ease, not just during the planning process, but also on the day of the wedding. They were super adaptable -- any last minute challenges that arose were handled swiftly and competently by Melissa and Morgan. It is clear that they have strong relationships and are beloved by all their vendors, and there are clear examples of us benefitting from these strong relationships. At the same time, we never felt pressured into using a particular vendor, and Melissa and Morgan also worked seamlessly with several new vendors that we introduced. And while always positive, Melissa and Morgan were also transparent with us at all stages. When they had strong feelings about certain decisions based on their extensive experience, they did not hesitate to guide us. All in all, we wholeheartedly recommend Lustre Events for anyone planning a wedding. They made our dream wedding come to life!

    I helped with a wedding with several hundred guests catered by M&O. Jordan as a person was a clear…read morecommunicator. The food was delicious. However, the set-up (name cards/place settings/centerpieces) was at a glacial pace such that there was no time for wedding helpers to verify all hundreds of name cards were placed at the correct seats by M&O staff. A second consequence was that guests were unable to mingle in the reception hall any earlier despite the ceremony having ended early, and some guests were forced to wait outside despite the cold. Jordan attempted to offer alternatives, but the set up staff did not speed up the set up process, and guests continued to wait outside the reception hall in a standing room only lobby area (and expressed frustration about that). Name cards were swapped/the opposite of what the bride outlined in the seating chart, so that at long rectangular tables a husband/wife were sitting at opposite ends. The staff potentially were not from M&O (potentially outsourced from a different company) but some did not clarify seating, and as a result, mixed up all the food orders. Some individual waitstaff were quite good about verifying name card placements but others did not verify them at all. Hopefully no one had a severe allergic reaction that night, as the seating chart from the bride and the reality of where names were placed were completely different for some tables. M&O also took boxes of glasses filled with water one by one to set up (instead of wheeling out several carts which would have expedited the process) and set everything up extremely slowly. Staff also served only 2 plates at a time, with about 6-8 people being served at a time. At a large wedding, this was disastrous because it took more than 40 minutes for them to serve the main course to everyone. This threw off the whole schedule of speeches so in the end we were more than an hour behind schedule. They also expressed a preference for people to be seated while the courses were being served due to the tight space (the tables were quite close together because the venue should not have allowed so many guests in that particular hall/room), which is a tad unreasonable at a wedding with several hundred people. In the end, guests couldn't enjoy the photo booth nor mingle as freely, and the schedule was extremely behind because speeches couldn't go on while people were in the middle of being served. Not sure if M&O outsourced their waitstaff to a 3rd party company that night, but would not recommend to anyone unfortunately despite the food tasting good.

They did 0 coordinating. - The vendors were contacting my wife and I because they could not reach the coordinators leading up to the wedding. - they were an hour late to our ceremony, saying they had the wrong address even though it was clearly on the planning pdf - they were extremely rude to our parents during the ceremony, to the point where my father had to blatantly say they shouldn't talk to people in that way - the catering was late in the morning, my father had to contact the vendors and figure out what's going on - We had to prompt them to talk to us leading up to our special day and took no initiative to assist us with the plan. - I tried calling them 3 times on Friday before to figure out slideshow. They did not answer or return calls, there was issues with setting up the slide show. They offered no help and our siblings had to figure out. Hiring these people was a complete mistake, did not even ask for a refund just want to warn everyone that this service was terrible.

Suzzette was our florist and our month-of coordinator for our sangeet and our wedding, two big evening events back to back in April 2019. Simply put, she is incredibly talented in both of these roles and we feel very fortunate to have found her! From the outset we were impressed by her professionalism and her good energy. She seemed genuinely excited to work with us and her significant experience and unassuming confidence immediately put us at ease. When we met in person to discuss flowers and other design elements, she listened to us and helped us to make our final decisions while staying within our budget. When we met with our parents for a coordination meeting and met again at the venue for a final walk through, she was organized and on the ball, ready to answer all questions and to help us think through last minute logistics. The week before the events, there were a number of changes that came up and she did not bat an eye. On the day of both events, her flower arrangements left us speechless. She somehow brought to life everything we discussed and made it even more beautiful than we imagined! From a coordination perspective, she kept everything running smoothly, bringing us back on schedule again and again and, I'm sure, resolving lots of issues behind the scenes which we'll never know about, all with the help of her team of warm and professional staff. If anything went wrong, we still don't know about it! Throughout, in every interaction, Suzzette was kind, reassuring, and made us smile.     Where do I start? My wedding happened on June 28th 2014 last year and I finally had time to come…read moreon here and really put into details of my experience with Babylon. Our wedding consisted of an intimate approximately 140 guests in Casa Loma. Like your typical woman, I had dreamed of the beautiful fairytale wedding where everything went perfect but of course reality is rarely that and Babylon is the reason. I already knew EXACTLY the type of decor that I wanted for the ceremony and reception with complete vision after endless hours online looking at endless pictures. And for this sole purpose that's why I went with Babylon, they were MUCH MUCH MUCH more affordable compared to my original decor vendors that I originally contemplated of using such as Rachel A Clingen and FOS decor that were on a higher scale. I didn't need the service, I didn't need the vision, I didn't need someone to provide their expertise and suggestions to creating that perfect fairytale wedding but rather I wanted someone who was just able to simple execute what I already had in place. We met the owner Rafi at his store and his decor looked a bit tacky compared to that Wed Luxe look that I was going for. I specifically was very particular on my backdrop so I showed him pictures of what I wanted with just a simple sweep drape backdrop and have it right up to the top of the ceiling and asked him few times if he was able to do it or not and he said yes not a problem. Our consultation went well in terms of pricing as they were affordable and we signed a contract and put our deposit down. What went very wrong was on the day of our wedding he didn't do the backdrop that I asked him to do and I even provided a picture for him and he promised me that he was able to achieve it exactly like the photo. On the wedding day he didn't do the backdrop even close to what my picture looked (please see the pictures I uploaded). My wedding planner was Ellie from Laura events & Co who told me Rafi had scolded her when she asked him why the backdrop was not like the photo. She said he screamed to her her just let him do his job and while she went to look for me to inform me of this, he had left Casa Loma without me looking at the room. Another bad problem was the charger plates he provided were dirty with leftover pasta sauce and Casa Loma would not let him use it but he just insisted they were fine and in the end Casa Loma washed all of the charger plates free of charge for me just so the plates could still be used and protect their image as a venue. After my wedding, my Casa Loma coordinator Shastine has told me that they are considering to ban Babylon from ever setting up a event there because that was how destructive of a vendor Babylon was to Casa Loma. We also used them for our transportation. I booked two stretched limos and a vintage Rolls Royce and surprise on my wedding day a Bentley shows up. Everything that went wrong on my wedding day was due to Babylon. I don't know when Rolls Royce became Bentley. In retrospect the only one thing I regretted about my wedding was choosing Babylon as my decor vendor and I wished that I would have just spent a little more to get someone better, professional and respectful. Many couples look back at their wedding day and wished that they could have saved here and there or cut back on something that was that necessary but for myself looking back I really regret not hiring somebody else investing in a little more than going with Babylon just to save a little. They are so unprofessional and didn't care for us as their clients and at the end of the day they just took our money and did an half ass job. I highly recommend for anyone who considers them to stay away and I'm more than willing to provide the contacts and phone numbers of my wedding planner and coordinators of Casa Loma to confirm all that's been said.

Today, my fiance, my wedding planner, and I had a 6:30 PM appointment for which we were on time. However, once it was our turn to sit down with the associate, she tells us that they have many appointments coming in and are behind. At the time, it was just my fiance, my planner and myself in the studio--no other clients/customers. The owner then shows up with another couple and sits down at a table nearby. My appointment is going smoothly at first, but as more and more clients show up for their appointment, the more agitated the owner becomes. He then comes over to the associate we are working with (she is working off of the ONLY computer in the studio), and he keeps telling her to get up. Finally, she says, "we're not done". Which we were not. She gets up. He sits down and says to us, "I need the computer. You have enough information. I need to help the other appointments now". Just like that. He doesn't even have the decency to see where we are with building our decor plan or try to humbly reschedule. Instead, we were met with coldness and aggression. All because he did not take the time to accurately plan out his appointments. My planner tells him that we are only halfway through, and we waited a month for this appointment. He did not care. He says again, "we are behind!" Now, if we've made an appointment, I do not understand what warranted him to practically throw us out. What I do know, though, is that professionalism, compassion and care for customers are lacking in this establishment. I would not recommend this company to anyone! BEWARE. Don't waste your time like we just did. Even if they changed their attitude, the overbooking and then rushed approach to their customers doesn't deserve a dime from your wallet. Just imagine what kind of service you will receive on your wedding day if this is the first impression. I am upset, and I am hurt, and I would hate for another unsuspecting couple to be treated this way. You've been warned.
