    Puyallup River

Love this trail. It's super close to where I live & I love running on it or taking walks with my son. It's wide enough for people to walk, run & bike without really getting in each other's way. It trails the river for most of your walk & there's a couple spots you can find where you can walk down to get right up next to the river, which is where I usually go when I take my 6 year old. It's pretty quiet back there & I have't run into any incidents where there's homeless people or a ton of teenagers just "hanging out". You can also go fishing when it's in season. A ton of people are usually down there, so you'll wanna go early in the morning. Parking is available by Mama Stortini's. They have their own private lot, then theres an overflow lot off to the side right in front of the trail where I usually park. You can also park on the bridge on E Main. It's a nice little trail to go on a walk for on the sunny days & just relax. Bring bug spray though, sometimes they're swarming around the river & you walk through a huge patch of them randomly.

Excellent for the beginner. Paved smooth surface. You choose how far you want to walk. Flat meaning none or very little incline or decline (for the short trip I took..that was my experience). I would have gone further, but there are no restrooms that I saw..and I had to go. Couldn't hold my water. Too many folks so no stepping into the bush to do 'the business', so I backtracked and rushed home. I can tell the trail goes much further, so for all of you who can go the distance...you can bike, skateboard, walk, jog..stroll with the kids along the river. On a hot day..there's lots of shade along the route and many areas to get off feet to sit. Dog excrement bags available at trail entrances, so Dont be a schmuck. Pick it up and throw it away in a provided trash recepticle. Have fun!

Nice and clean looks to be safe. A lot of flowers and fruit trees. And you can access the walking trails from anywhere off of River Road

I would spend every day down on the trails at this river! The best spot is to pull off into the little taking sit by the bridge. The bridge between Graham & Orting. The trails are nice and well kept with a gorgeous view of the river! You can ever walk down little trails to sandy parts & to the river itself! Lots of fun to go down & explore during the day! Closes at dusk! Don't go after or stay late, or the police will come question you.

Several of the pieces of equipment on the fitness trail are kaput, but it's still a nice place to walk through. Lots of picnic shelters that can be reserved, though some are kinda really in disrepair. The log cabin style one looks rustically nice, but there are a lot of holes in the roof. There's also a creek with easy access so you can dip your feet in on the hot days. Definitely awesome when our giant sky oppressor is in full force since you can hide under the trees, but a good option regardless of weather.

This is a great park for the summer. It's CRAZY shaded so you don't have to worry about the slides getting hot (which is crazy because they're metal). There are two play structures - one being suited to toddlers and one to older kids. The highlight of the park is obviously the creek. It was a warm day and I dressed my kids accordingly because I knew they'd play in the water! Annnnnnddd they did. I'm glad that they did because it's a great element to the park. I don't think this'll be a fall season park choice, but for warmer days, it is THE spot. Worth the visit! There's also trails surrounding the park if you're looking for a little oasis tucked into the city.

This trail is near my home. It's a great trail for walking or biking. You can walk down to the river. This trail goes all the way down to Enumclaw or Buckley. Lots of beautiful scenery, flowers in bloom and majestic views of Mt Rainier. I have yet to do the full trail. I will as soon as I get my Ebike LOL! To avoid a very long walk we parked one car at the East Puyallup Trailhead and began our walk in by parking with our other car at the McMillan Trailhead. The walk was very enjoyable and the summer day we chose couldn't have been perfect with warm but mild temperatures. More forested scenery to enjoy as you walk between these two trailheads as opposed to going the opposite way to Orting. I am eager to tackle more chunks of this trail but have held off due to other summer time activities and we also learned that parts of the trail would be closed for maintenance for a part of the summer due to needed improvements so we are holding off to continue more pieces of the trail until Autumn where we hope these closures have expired and the maintenance is finished.

It goes along the Puyallup River and is pleasant but isn't quite as scenic as the trail that is called on Yelp the Riverwalk Trail which also goes along the Puyallup River near Sumner. To me and from the signage when on the trail it seems like one and the same to me but Yelp seems to have separate entries for the trail that goes east and the trail that goes west. The western side of the trail has a relatively smooth surface and during fishing season lots of fisherman come here to fish for salmon. The westerly direction of the trail does have lots of homeless people along it and most of the time they are harmless but a friend who is a fisherman and comes here to fish has had uncomfortable situations with them here on and around the trail so if you go by yourself through here it's good to be aware and cautious and maybe a good idea to have someone else tag a long with you if you are able to.

I gave it only 3 stars because it's not always the "safest" trail..I always feel uneasy about leaving my car parked there because there are so many nooks and crannies for people To hide out and wait for you to go far down the trail so they can break in..the trail is a little trashy because kids and homeless people like to just litter. There are a couple spots along the river where there are tarps hanging off trees like a homeless person put up for shelter..so that makes me nervous when I'm alone with my daughter in the stroller..always carry something to protect yourself on this trail. I haven't heard of any crimes, but it just doesn't always feel safe. There are easy spots where someone could jump you from out of bushes etc. sometimes you might get a couple "off" characters walking on this trail so just watch and be vigilant.
