Riverwalk Terrace was such a beautiful breakfast experience and I enjoy going back. The food is mouthwatering and everything tasted so fresh and high quality. I especially loved that the sourdough bread and fruit jelly are made in house. You can really taste the difference. The tiramisu latte was easily the best I've ever had rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, but a bit overpriced for $12. I was not impressed by the Nutella crepes and they tasted hard and not freshly made from scratch. The whole ambiance indoor or outdoor is such an aesthetic vibe and makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy breakfast. Finally checked out Riverwalk Terrace and wow, such a cute brunch spot, especially when the weather is nice! The interior is stylish and vibey, but if it's a beautiful day, I definitely recommend sitting outside and enjoying the waterfront views. The food was amazing, and their strawberry bellini was so good (I believe they have three other flavors too). The service was great overall, though it did take a little while to get the check at the end. If you're looking for a cute brunch spot, definitely check this place out! I visited Riverwalk Terrace for the first time today with my sons, and overall it was a pretty good experience. The space is absolutely beautiful. Being located at the Marriott on Water Street (right across from the even more stunning JW Marriott) definitely adds to the upscale atmosphere. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating + valet service, which makes it a great spot to enjoy the views and ambiance. My sons ordered the brioche French toast (one classic and one with agave berry compote), and they both said it was pretty good. I ordered the avocado tartine, which is essentially avocado toast. It wasn't my favorite. The sourdough was a bit different than what I'm used to, and the addition of pepperoncini peppers and ground Dijon mustard seeds gave it an unusual flavor. It just wasn't for me, though I'm sure others might enjoy the twist. One thing that surprised me was the $12 tiramisu latte. While it had nice presentation, it's essentially an iced coffee, so the price felt a bit steep. That said, this is clearly an upscale establishment, so the pricing reflects the setting. They also offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for $38 per person, and every other weekend they feature a seafood buffet at the same price, which is great for seafood lovers. Personally, I didn't feel the regular buffet options were worth $38 without the seafood selection, and the overall menu is somewhat limited compared to other brunch spots at a similar price point. Honestly there wasn't much that I can say went well visiting here. There was lack of friendliness, no crayons or high chair for our little one was offered. When we were seated we were placed where there was hardly any room as well as minimal shade. I even overheard another guest state to be placed in the shade rather than directly in the sun. I absolutely love going to river walk terrace for a weekend brunch! I love the fact that you have the option of a buffet or a normal meal. I recently had the avocado toast and it was probably the best I've ever had! The seasonings on the avocado and egg were perfectly sweet and salty. Had brunch here on a Sunday after running the Gasparilla 15k. I had a reservation and was seated promptly indoors with a view of the water. The place was not as busy as I expected given how many people were around for the race. They have a $38 buffet but after taking a look around, I decided to order off the menu. The potatoes were really salty but the Cuban lacked flavor. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. Checking in at Riverwalk Terrace felt like applying for a mortgage. It took multiple staff members, blank stares, and way too much effort just to acknowledge our reservation. When finally seated, they jammed us on top of a loud party while 90% of the restaurant sat empty. Asking for a different table left the host looking like we'd just asked them to solve quantum physics. Wonderful breakfast buffet; well worth the cost. I am not usually a "buffet" person, but everything was clean, neat, and just on point. Also made to order omelets. Can also order from the menu (we tried both options during our stay there). There was a wait the first morning, but not a wait time for subsequent visits. Nice atmosphere, great food. We had a bit of an issue with seating when we did the buffet (inside dining); we were first seated next to another party, when there were empty tables not as close. Not sure of the need to pile customers on top of each other, so to speak. In any case, we opted to move and informed the waiter, which didn't seem to be a problem. Also, each time we dined and was ready for the check, we had to ask for the pen each time to sign the tab. Not sure about the issue of customers using the waiters' pens. Next time, we'll be sure to bring our own pen (BYOP)! LOL! No big deal though. Note, there is an option for inside dining or outside dining (near the waterfront). Beautiful scenery! Because we were soon to checkout at Marriott Water St., we visited in house Riverwalk Terrace. The decor was very sleek. We requested outdoor seating next to the boat slips. The sumptuous cushions were a welcome relief for Hubby's aching back. Kaitlyn eagerly greeted us with an engaging smile, and guided us to our breakfast choices while serving a lovely, rich coffee. Hubs ordered the French toast. I asked for the Cuban breakfast sandwich and house fries. Hubs was blown away. He's extremely picky and gave it a 10/10. Kaitlyn said the bread was soaked in the milk/egg for several hours. It was complimented with strawberry /guava purée and assorted whole fruit. My pressed Cuban bread was house made. It had pork, bell pepper, Swiss cheese and egg. The fries were perfectly seasoned with sweet bell peppers and onions. It was a huge serving! I never write bad reviews but I definitely had better expectations for this restaurant. Today, I went to Riverwalk Terrace with my ladies group. I made a reservation for 15 back in Jan. In the last 2 weeks, I have called about 6 times and left a number of messages with my name, phone number and group size to confirm. I never recieved a call back. Once we arrived, they didnt have my reservation. The original reservation was made for 11. We waited about 30 minutes for them to set up a table. No problem. Full disclosure: the whole group was not there yet but we really just wanted to at least order some drinks while we waited. The waitress came to us and said she had other tables to finish with so she would wait until more people arrived and then she would take our order. 30 minutes pass and she didnt even stop by. The restaurant was not busy at all. We had to ask someone to get the waitress so we could at least order drinks. We finally ordered sometime after noon. We watched other people get drink orders that came in after us. If we asked questions about wait times, the waitress became defensive. To the point that that we were trying to be extra nice not to upset her but we were the customers. There were so many missteps that I cant put it all in this review but my experience and the experience of my group was just poor from beginning to end. I booked this restaurant for my best friend's birthday party as it is also Easter and most places were filled up with Easter brunch. I did know that this a newer place that just opened, but I never expected the service to be so horrendous. The waiter came to our table and was not ready to take our orders. We all arrived at 12:30 for our reservation l, and did not get our DRINKS!!!! our drinks! Until 1:45 pm. We then told the waiter we needed to make the cross bay ferry at 3 pm and to take our orders, because we were trying to wave him down in an empty restaurant where he was hiding inside smoking his vape and not doing his job. He then took our orders at 145 and we got our food at 2:30 which is understandable for a larger party. We then asked for the check and boxes as we needed to rush to the boat, where we found out that he completely mis charged us. He charged for more than we ordered, and the food was all upcharged. For example, on their menu, it stated the Bellini flights as 50 dollars, and he rang them all up at 65. I am truly disappointed as I am a Marriott member and frequent stays here. We called the restaurant about the mischarges and still have not heard back. I look forward to the restaurant or hotel answering the numerous voicemails we have left as there are about 300 dollars worth of charges that we never ordered/ up charges where the menu stated one price and the bill reflects about a 20 dollar difference per item. read more

Clearly they focused too much time and effort on the decor before opening...and not NEARLY enough on their staff and menu. I'm still trying to fathom how my friends and I arrived on time for a 12:30pm reservation... yet were scarfing down our food and running out trying to make a 3 PM FERRY !!! Two and half hours for hash brown potatoes that tasted like they were from McDonald's. I honestly feel bad insulting McDonald's like that. Maybe that was what took so long, because they had to go through the drive-thru. The waiter was horrible and would constantly look out the window and stare at us, but not cater to our order. A flight of warm mimosas was somehow listed as $50 yet we got charged $65. They openly admitted they gave my friends sandwhich to another table. When we needed the server to hurry up with our check 2 and half hours after getting our food, he was busy vaping near the bathroom. I was a server, I love to brunch, and am not typically a Karen, but this service was wildly out of line. Avoid at all costs. Go to American Social down the river walk. Amazing potatoes. read more

The aesthetic of this place is gorgeous but they are too new to handle groups and we learned that the hard way. We had a brunch reservation for 12:30 pm and let our waiter know we had to be at the ferry by 3. He said that's fine, but everything went downhill from there. He would come out to greet us, but was never ready to actually take an order and would have to run back inside to grab paper & a pen. This delayed us all ordering drinks for a while. We had to tell him please let us order food ASAP as time was ticking. It wasn't until he was halfway through our orders that he told one of us the food was going to take a very long time because they were using one chef between the two restaurants. We asked if we'd get our food in time to leave for our ferry, and he said yes they skirted away until almost 2:30 when they FINALLY brought out food, TWO hours into our reservation. We immediately told him to wrap stuff up because we had 0 time to eat and half of the dishes came even later or never showed up. He didn't offer to comp anything, and we had to rush to leave to make our ferry. Upon checking my bill afterwards, I was highly disappointed to see how much he messed up. We were overcharged by hundreds of dollars. The menu's said that the Bellini flights were $50, but we were charged $65 per flight and he added two extra on that never came out. He charged for plates of food he said were accidentally delivered to the other restaurant (so this place & Anchor & Brine have the same menu apparently??) and because we were celebrating a birthday and in a rush, there was no time to amend it. We're now on the hook for so much money because none of the staff was competent or trained on anything at this new restaurant. I do not recommend coming here with a group larger than 3 until they're more established and can handle more volume. Arrived at 1:07 for a 1pm reservation today, and it took 15 minutes to get seated once we arrived even though it wasn't very busy and the table we eventually sat at was empty the whole time. After 20 minutes of sitting at our table without a server coming by or acknowledging us at all, I went and asked the hostess to please send a server over. The server came over for the first time a few minutes later, and once we ordered it took over 45 minutes to get the two burgers and one Cuban sandwich that we ordered. If you go here (don't) do yourself a favor and save an hour of your life by paying for the overpriced buffet. At the end of our meal the manager came to our table to ask how things went - we explained our poor experience and he shrugged it off and "explained" that the restaurant is only a couple weeks old and this is how things have been going so far but that the team is going to talk about how they can improve. After meeting the manager, everything made sense about our poor experience - I expected him to ask what he could do to make the situation better, but he didn't. The average Applebee's or Chili's knows how to deliver a far superior guest experience, for a much more reasonable price. Very surprising for a Marriott property, I hope they can course correct asap because it's a great location/view and the decor inside the restaurant is very nice - but for now it seems they are content to rely on the location and river view as an excuse for mismanagement. read more
