I understand that most people will never be satisfied with the care that strangers give your loved…read moreones but I would never recommend Pacifica. We've recently moved my Grandmother and are desperately trying to get her healthy again. My Grandmother did not get needed medication for 3 weeks, it ended up being stopped suddenly which made her anxiety and dementia exasperated. When trying to talk to any staff, NO ONE EVER TAKES RESPONSIBILITY. It's always someone else's fault, that no longer works there. No apologies, no accountability. We were also told that when my Grandmothers LIFE SAVINGS had been exhausted she would be able to continue staying at Pacifica on Medicaid. Concerned because there had been SO many things that changed or were not true, we made an appointment to discuss this and other issues. We were immediately told NO she couldn't stay and again, It was the old employees fault for telling us that. It was always filthy, they are always short staffed and the urine smell is awful. When we moved my Grandmother out it became even more obvious how poorly she was cared for with the amount of dirt everywhere. They are building MORE houses and I'm wondering how they will be able to handle more residents? If you're lured in with the new construction, be sure you go over every single detail, because you can not take anyone's word. And if you have a loved one move in, be sure to be there every single day, be there for every doctor appointment, make sure you are aware of every medication. Basically, micromanage every little detail because you can not trust them to truly take care of your person.

I am so disappointed in this facility! When my dad and I first moved my mom in everyone was so nice…read moreand now I just realize it was because we were a cash pay family and they found every way to get more money out of us and not tell us why and they're so quick to take your money but as soon as your loved one passes and you have questions of why you're being charged for a month of care after they've passed away no one will call you back. These people have these fancy titles like Kirk the executive director and Vonnie is another director, then Steven apparently regional director down in the Billing office in San Diego. Not even the courtesy of one call back I've been calling these people for weeks. I've been nicely asking them to go over things with me and Kirk was very rude to my dad. He had just lost his wife and all they care about is money this place disgusts me. They're trying to charge us to renovate a room after we left it better than we got it. It was cleaned and the items were removed. These people only care about money. Be careful before you put your loved one here they'll act nice to your face, but as soon as the money stops, they could give a crap about you or your family! So to all you people over there with the fancy titles, you don't deserve them. You don't have the courtesy to call a person back asking for you to explain why you're charging for care and room and board the month after the person has passed away. This is a violation of CMS and Medicare. All you to say is refer to some paperwork, but you can't tell me which paperwork and where it is, you guys are a joke. I've been patient. I've been calling for weeks leaving messages. No one can call me back. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I'd like to thank Heidi, who has been able to help in her capacity and Jennifer the nurse at the location but other than that once the titles get higher, you people are despicable treating an older man who had just lost his wife like he's stupid and shove him out the door with an excuse of go read your paperwork. not acceptable! Watch out for Kirk. He cannot keep up with his lies. He says one thing to somebody, and then says something to somebody else he contradicted himself to me in the same day. We did read the paperwork and this phony language that you said is in there it's not there. I'm asking you to show me where this is why you're keeping over half my dad's money with some phony scheme of you're allowed to charge him for it. I have a bill showing charges for room and board for March and my mom passed away in February...horrible!

The people there are so kind and patient. They used to have a pool that I used for years. It was wonderful but then it quit working and they got rid of it which I thought was really too bad. I'd probably still be going there as an independent if they had the pool. This is a wonderful place and I miss it. Kevin is the head of the PT department and he is outstanding!!!

There are way more assisted-living in Coeur d'Alene that are so much better.

Then instead of answering my emails, are calling to try and figure it out and work it out. I informed you of exactly how to make it right, and yes I was in billing and insurance so making excuses is not my favorite thing and shows unprofessionalism. If I could give a 10 star rating, I absolutely would. As a former caregiver for many years, I felt right at home when I walked down the steps and into the office to meet the friendly faces of my former employers J and J who looked beyond my conditions and saw complete potential in becoming part of their team of caring and compassionate caregivers. For the first time in a few years, I knew I found the place where I was needed and belonged. Having secure employment there was an extreme boost to my morale along with a generous pay check after going in day in and day out in helping improve the quality of life for the residents in the facility. The smiles of both my colleagues and residents every time I went through the door with my mask for safety, made it all worthwhile to keep going to not just work, but to a place where my skills as a caregiver were put into good use along with improving the quality of life of those who lived there. I would like to take this moment in this post to thank J and J for giving me the opportunity to join their team of hardworking caregivers. Even though I had to resign due to medical reasons, I feel comforted in knowing that my job will still be waiting for me after I take good care of myself first. There are not very many employers out there like J and J that make former employees like me feel reassured that I am a strong individual who just needs some TLC in order to continue giving TLC to those who need me. Maple Wood Assisted Living, you have changed and saved my life in many ways that I can ever repay you. I assure you that I will work very hard to be part of a second family that will always have faith in me to become the best caregiver/CNA I can be.
