On 7/9 Ritchie called and said it was ready except for the rod holders so come and get it. Paid remaining balance and took boat with no electronics or rod holders. I asked Ritchie about the electronics and he said he did not get around to installing them. Message from Ritchie on 7/19 that rod holders are in so drop off the boat Monday. On Wednesday I went to pick up and boat was not touched. Ritchie lied to my face and stated I dropped the boat off Tuesday when I had left it Monday? Palmetto opening up the Myrtle Beach location was such a great occurrence for me. I have family that lives down the road so it was great having my dream gun shops down the road from me when visiting. Prior LEO, former gun shop owner, current LEO Firearms Instructor and SBO, I have seen the absolute worst and best of personalities, knowledge, and skills behind the gun counter and in this industry over the last 25 years. We even sell Right to Bear, (owned by Palmetto SA) in our school to students. The "employee" that helped me on my last Palmetto visit a few months ago was the Shooter McGavin to my Happy Gillmore Happy Place. I have NEVER had such an ignorant, uneducated, boring, sloth of a human being experience before in the gun world or for that matter in ANY retail setting. This guy was white, mid 50's, brown balding hair, glasses, and was wearing the customary dad uniform, (NB sneakers, high waisted jeans, and nerd-ness swag), all he needed was a fanny pack, and a pouch for his flip phone. Seriously, this guy should have been out in the parking lot collecting shopping carts.....preferably with a white styrofoam helmet on. I purchased a $1500 Colt AR-15. I used to be a dealer for Colt, I knew exactly what I wanted, did my research on Palmetto's website and I had it all priced out already. I NEVER discuss my background when in gun shops, this allows me to gauge a salesperson expertise or in this clown's case LACK of expertise. When I tell you this guy knew absolutely NOTHING, that would be an understatement. But what's so much worse was not only could this guy couldn't answer a single question, he actually had attitude, and the typical you're wasting my time personality, (I was at counter less then 10 minutes). I really appreciated this loser looking around and looking at watch several times as I was talking to him. What's my fault was not grabbing a manager and this guy and have a post-sale convo. In hindsight I should have, that's on me. But I also feel like I shouldn't have to be in this position in the first place. Maybe I'll take a drive into the ghetto, stop at a pawn shop and pick up a High Point, I'd probably get better service then I did at Palmetto State Armory........ If I said I wouldn't go back until this clown was gone, I'd probably be lying. But I have to admit, I'm not in any rush to go back after receiving such piss poor service.

A friend and I took the CWP course on Sunday 3/14/21 and had the best time. The classroom portion,…read moretaught by Ethan (owner) and Chance, was not boring and very informative. They covered everything you need to know to pass the written test and made it humorous as well with lots of tips. The live firing was fun. You actually drive to a private property in Conway for this and it was really pretty. We shot in groups of 4 and you could use their guns and ammo or bring your own. I don't get to shoot as much as I would like to but I was able to easily pass the live fire test as well. But they really went above and beyond when my truck wouldn't start when we were finished. Chance stayed with my friend and I for almost 2 hours trying to jump my truck until AAA came. Chance refused to leave even after telling him it was OK several times. He actually spent some of the time to show me how to clean my firearm. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Myrtle Beach Guns to anyone for the CWP course. Keep an eye out for coupon codes to save $20. They were cheaper than other options with the coupon. They also frequently update their Facebook page for useful info and funny memes.

I dropped off a .22 rifle to have it re-blued because the gun had a good bit of light rust developing as well as some pitting. This rife belonged to my brother-in-law and I was going to get the barrel re-blued by Cormac as I was going to refinish the wood stock and send off the bolt to be re-chromed myself. I just didn't have the time nor the trays to re-blue it and I found Cormac. I had emailed Douglas about this service work and he said to bring it by. I brought it by and left it with Phil who had be fill out a form with my personal and contact information, and he filled in the rest of the info. on the form. I clearly conveyed I wanted the barrel re-blued. Well, I get the rifle back today and for $149 I got a gun cleaning and lube job. Now those of you that have guns know full well, that's ridiculous anyway, I could have cleaned the rust off and greased and cleaned everything else myself, it was the 'bluing' I needed to have done. Phil wrote on the form : Refinish weapon and make sure everything is operable. I told Douglas (the owner) and he cut me 20 bucks off the price but in later emails after I left, he was apologetic that it wasn't done right and I called him once I got home and told him how very unhappy I was with this business interaction. He tells me that he's 'pretty sure he knows what happened' and that Phil probably wrote to re-finish it (what is that exactly) instead of re-bluing it to save the customer some money and the gunsmith probably would have done the same thing, to just give it a good cleaning versus spending alot of money. Well HELLO!! I'm the customer. I'm the one paying. I don't want anyone 'assuming' anything on my behalf. If I bring an item in and state clearly what I want done to it, then that's what I want done. Would any of you guys pay $150 bucks to anyone to give your rifle a good cleaning? No, you wouldn't, because you, just like me, already have the basic skill sets to break down and clean one. This was to have been a gift to my B-I-L as this was a rifle, matter of fact, the first year the rifle was made by Remington and his Dad gave it to him and his brother when they were in the boy scouts. This thing is date stamped by the code as 1948. There is tons of sentimental value attached with it. I just feel very let down by Cormac. I mean, I can only be so clear in telling someone, I want to get the barrel re-blued and if that person or another takes it upon themself to want to 'save me money', then damnit, address that with me. I find it arrogant that Douglas would even mention saving money to me. I really didn't care if it had been 300 bucks to re-blue it. It's what I wanted. Anyway, that's my gripe and grumble about Cormac. I am not at fault. See pic of receipt attached for proof. I honestly have zero clue as to why Phil wrote 'refinish' unless that also means 're-blue', but I can only do so much in telling someone what I WANT. Douglas did offer for me to bring it back and he'd send it off to have some coats of 'blue' applied and he's still not getting it. I wanted the bluing stripped off and the pitting removed. I wanted that barrel to be just like it was when Remington made it. Big, Huge, let-down. The only reason I went with Cormac was because of the glowing reviews, but alas, no company is perfect, but now I just have one hell of a cleaning on a rifle that serves zero purpose as I'll have to de-grease everything to strip it down and re-work it myself. If you find yourself dropping anything off for service just be sure you clearly convey and have it in writing (for what that's worth) what you want done. I did email and ask for a refund, given that the service I requested wasn't performed, but the owner responded that the 'work was performed as written'. So I guess that writing 'refinish' by their employee doesn't mean to 're-blue' but to clean and lube. Either or, I clearly stated I wanted it re-blued and I received it back, just cleaned and lubed.
