I can't say enough good about this store and the personal working there. After just about getting screwed by Dick's Pawn North who offered me $450 for older gold necklaces and a ring we stopped in Friendly Pawn re-gained my faith that there was still good and honest people in this world! I had no idea what the lot of pieces was worth but just didn't feel right with "DICK"S" estimate and I was so right to follow my instincts. J.C. at Friendly Pawn gave me "TWICE" that amount and still left room for them to make a fair profit! I am from Ohio, here for 2 or 3 weeks and not affiliated with either of these two businesses but really glad we found this pawn shop on the way back to our place of stay. The folks working here were over the top friendly so the name of the business fit perfectly! I totally recommend this business to everyone if you desire respect, honest dealing and a few laughs to boot! I happened to stumble upon this shop on Saturday, February 9,2019 and could not have been happier!!!! I wish I had found this store much sooner! My girlfriend and I were here on holidays and were looking around for a couple of different things. We happened to be driving along in the area, when we spotted their sign out front. We both thought that we should take a chance and check this place out. What a pleasant surprise!!!! We were definitely not disappointed. It was a fantastic experience right from the "get go". All of the staff on the floor, were very friendly and engaging and they had some really nice merchandise. The prices were really good and they were willing to do some negotiating on their prices. They have been one of the easiest places to deal with, of anywhere I have ever dealt with! I cannot sing their praises enough. I ended buying a really nice electric guitar, amp, bike helmet and some golf related stuff. When I'm back here on vacation again. I will definitely come back to see them. My father and I stopped at Friendly Pawn in Garden City, SC on a fishing trip last year. I rarely take the time to review a place but when I am surprised, and pleasantly so, I do. This Mom and Pop shop lives up to its name, the staff was knowledgeable, the store was bright and well merchandised and the overall vibe was just as the name indicates, "Friendly". I love shops like this because its a catch all of interesting items, from high end watches to lawn equipment, or even fishing and hunting gear like we were after, this gem will not disappoint. We make it a regular stop on our beach trips, and I look forward to seeing what treasures I will find. If you find yourself in a pinch trust these folks, or if you are looking for a bargain, stop in, I can't say enough about my pleasant experience. read more
