Dickie needs to reevaluate his staff. Went in to see an item they were putting up for sale 5 days later. the little counter guy Copt an attitude that he just didn't want to bother even getting the model number off the item so I could look it up and decide if I was interested in coming back on Saturday. I'm from out of town I come in all 5 Dicks every year I spend alot in Dicks. and didn't want to wait till Saturday if it wasn't a model I wanted. I asked for the manager the small guy wanted me to leave. Before I talked to the manager. I explained they had already showed it to me 2 days earlier. I just didn't get the model number off it. The manager was nicer wouldn't show it but gave me the model number said I could call back Thursday should be able to tell me the price. I called Thursday and he said he wouldn't sell to me. Wouldn't even give me a price. Really an A hole attitude. Said I was inconsiderate to the A-Hole counter guy. The little counter guy with the Napoleon attitude was the one telling me to leave. Just because I wanted the model number. The manager didn't even see the incident but took the A holes word for what happened. . And little counter guy was the one with the attitude so they can shove it I'll buy else where. Guarantee you Dick doesn't know how much business they run off. read more

Stopped in to see about resizing a ring as I frequently stop by for watch batteries, and recommend them to my customers for repairs, watchband sizing and batteries. As the saleslady was waiting on me, apparently a friend of hers came in to purchase something. She said I would have to come back when jeweler was there to get a price. I said ok, and asked to see a ring in the case, she said "sure" and I walked over to the case. I waited to her to come, but when I turned to see where she was, she was talking to her friend and helping her with a purchase. I left the store and will not go back, nor will I recommend to my customers any longer. Had she had asked me if it was ok to help this person first, I would not be writing this. Horrible. Not knowledgeable, and a rip off. I weighed my gold first. Ask how they paid. Took in some regular gold and some European charms. Different gold all together. Never even noticed it. I used to visit here once a year every time I went down to Myrtle Beach but I missed last year and noticed this year that it's nothing like it once was. They used to have tons of stuff. I remember a couch that looked like it was built into a car body and a huge model airplane that could probably have fit a person. They still have the really tall totem pole and tons of old gas pumps and signs. It used to practically be an amusement park in there. Now it's practically empty and everything is on clearance and posted on craigslist. I wonder if they're trying to go out of business. That's too bad considering this place has a lot of good memories for me. read more

My husband and I went to 2 locations while on vacation. The first stop was the one on Dick Pond Rd, I went into the jewelry dept while my husband looked at other things, the woman in there needs more customer service training or a new profession. Our next stop was the one on Mr Joe White, we looked through the store, then I headed to the jewelry dept. The lady in there, Megan, was outstanding! I told her I loved old vintage jewelry and we looked at a couple of other things and all of a sudden she said "Hold on" and came back with the sweetest vintage (Edwardian) diamond and sapphire engagement ring. It spoke to me, and I HAD to have it, then my husband came in and we found a beautiful diamond and sapphire pendant, HAD to have that too. LOL Megan was a dream to work with and a true credit to this business. When back to my home away from home, we will absolutely be back, but only if Megan is working. The price we paid for both was fair. I know fair, and good pieces of jewelry, as I use to work in a jewelry store and have Crystal Champagne taste on a screw top wine budget. Thanks Megan! Employees are Clowns that think they are the only game in town. But the major problem is this. They don't check out the things they put on the floor for sale. From electronics to bikes, they have issues and don't work right. That would be ok if they priced them based on the condition, but they look for what fully working items sell for elsewhere and price 20% higher. I was a customer for a long time. NOT anymore. The 1st review is fraudulent due to the ad posting of prices. It was most likely 99.99% posted by someone who was asked to give a good review there. Who reviews with special offer price except? You be the judge. Mostly cleaned up non working items that have hidden issues. BEWARE! read more

Do not shop this business!!! I bought a TV from them with a 30day warranty sticker on it, and spoke with the store manager in regards to their exchange policy should the TV have any problems. He said they would replace it, or if they didn't have an exchange, that a refund could be done. TV cuts off out of the blue, so I tried to return it. They refused, and then the security guard heckled me the entire way to my vehicle, even telling me to suck his cock... I needed to go through small claims procedures in order to get my refund, and they had the TV back on the shelf! read more

Dicks Pawn Shop. The name says it all about this place. On two occasions they tried to low ball me. I brought in a $600 Ascend kayak from Bass Pro Shop with the $70 dollar paddle and a $100 electric fish finder all hooked up and in great condition. Had all the accessories that came with the kayak and they only wanted to give me $200 for it. Another time I brought in $500 diamond earrings from Zales with the paperwork for the lifetime diamond warranty and they tried to give me $15-$20 for it cause they claim that they can only sell them for $40. The store is nearly empty and always dark and dingy. I am NOT impressed by Dicks Pawn Shop at all. I honestly think the employees there do not know what they are doing. They wanna give you very little for an item that is worth soo much more and they can still make a profit on it. They are not about helping the locals here but only about making their profits. Come on... $20 for $500 diamond earrings! I will take my business else where and I suggest that everyone else do the same! read more

Went to one in Carolina Forest. Salesgirl, not lady, over talked me and the gentlemen that was originally helping me. She could not be still. Kept pacing as I looked at an item. She smelled horrible. Her nails and hands were dirty. She had a tie on to look professional. However, she was far from professional. I commented on her customer service skills. She and another female associate replied with a smart comment. I said, " it is a shame you do not have customer service skills because I would like to by something and you will not answer my questions plus your rude". I left and went to the one on 544. Coincidentally, they had the exact same Item. Adam Cork answered my questions and was very professional. The item was an older model produced years ago. That's what I wanted to know!!!! I never spend less than $150.00 when I go to Dicks PS. Furthermore, I normally go to the Carolina Forest store. The staff has changed. The normal tech guy moved to another state. He sold me my awesome Mac laptop. Most of the current staff rush you, over talk you, or can not answer your questions. Adam was great. Extremely upset came in at 6:40, and went to look at a set of Golf Clubs. Got to the section was about to pick the club up, and the lights went out on me. So as me and 3 or 4 customers stood in the dark trying to figure out what was going on, a rent a cop passes by me and says the section is closed.
