Dejected, we decided to quit for the day and try another day. If only we had known before we started the hunt that Perry's Emporium was the place to go! We walked in and were immediately greeted by a friendly woman at the front door who introduced us to Luke! It was easy to tell that he is passionate about his job and sincerely wanting to help his customers. Not only did he listen to us and what we wanted, but he was knowledgeable about their inventory. When a question about configuration came into play, he went and got one of their ring designers to come out and speak with us. He made sure to cover all of the bases. He ordered in a few different center stones for us to pick from and promptly called us when they arrived to see them in person. Fast foward to the proposal, and my ring could not be more beautiful! Talk about a SCAM. i was literally stunned when blanca told me what all my pieces were worth , and yet all of my questions got diverted to, "Well, you don't have .999 pure gold, and your diamonds will be bagged up and sold as bulk" (basically scrap), even though the lot of these rings and necklace has an over 10K investment value. In fact, I had appraisals on 3 of the pieces and the appraisals totaled $9,000, but she ignored that part. When I got home I called my financial advisor and he explained to me how these jewelry buying businesses and their employeees manipulate vulnerable people who have went through a divorce. He also explained how they are trained to offer you the lowest offer, and especially with the statements you may have made upon entering the store. I did say that these were all pieces from a broken marriage, and I just wanted to get rid of them- BAD IDEA! I thought I could trust another woman- 2nd BAD IDEA! Blanca took full advantage of my vulnerability, and took me for a ride down "Rip Off Street" today! All I can say now is, "Father, forgive them.....they know NOT what they do."
