Took my brother in law and another non-shooter here while on vacation. Staff was knowledgeable and customer driven. Range was nice. Range officer was very helpful. As I was trying to help two non-shooters learn to shoot a pistol, the range officer was quick to help both shooters with advice at no charge. We intended to shoot for an hour but stayed for two!!!! Awesome all in one shop! I came to South Carolina terrified of snakes. On Long Island the only snakes I had ever seen were in captivity. I purchased a tiny revolver in case those cold blooded slithering beast found their way onto my property. I had no previous gun experience or knowledge and this was the right place for me to go. I talked to Chuck, who was very patient with me and my ignorance about guns and he was encouraging and told me to be patient, because they would soon be opening an indoor shooting range. While talking, I found I could get a concealed weapons permit and they offered the class at this location. I attended and then got my permit, just in case I walked my dogs around the block and a snake tried to attack my dogs or myself. After a while, I got to know Carmine and Rob. As laid back as these gentlemen are, is as knowledgeable as they are. They are an plethora of information. I attended their indoor range on a weekly basis until I suffered a non-related injury. At that point, although still not well, I took a class and received my Utah non-resident permit that allows me to carry in about 30 states. I now know the difference between a revolver and a semi-automatic pistol. I have never shot a snake or anything outside their range. I don't want to shoot anything, however it is good to know if need be, I can defend myself. Thanks to all of you!! read more

Nice place to do some gun ranging. Went with hubby and three of our friends. Hubby and I shared a bay which ended up being a bit pricey in the end. They charged an hour for each of us even though we were taking turns on one bay lesson learned. Next time, I'm getting my own bay so that it will be worth the price. Everyone at the range were super nice, knowledgeable and very helpful. We are looking forward to returning. read more

707 and the other local gun shop are the only gun stores I shop. Again not a ton of tacticool crap you don't need. One of the best of a dying breed an actual gunsmith. reasonable prices, good selection of trade in and used weapons. If you see it buy it because unless it's a new model like a Gen 5 glock 19 it will be sold next time you come in, I had a fellow ask if I was purchasing a Beretta, yes I put it and another on layaway on the spot. The fellow was waiting on me to say no to purchase it, I brought in a trade-in after talking with the man he bought my trade. Case ammo price tends to hold steady & reasonable.Although not a stocking LEO dealer special orders take about a week. Need a gun or bayonet identified thats antique or something thats off the wall you can't find a picture of on the internet, ask for Charlie. If he cannot tell you likely it's museum at the NRA headquarters time. It's a good local store both this store and the other I have reviewed both fully support the entire Constitution. Both do the SC Concealed Carry Class. I gave both 4 stars since always room for improvement anywhere. Shop both equally with 1 more purchased from 707 since they just took a revolver in trade & called been looking for it for a couple of years. A long discontinued revolver had been traded in called me as soon as all the checks had been completed to make sure it wasn't stolen and all laws followed. read more

This is the best Gun Shop and Range in the area. I've been to Coastal and they cannot match up with the 707 Gun Shop. I didn't like this place at all... My wife and I are on vacation and wanted to shoot one of their rentals We walked into the gun store and wasn't greeted as most places do greet walk-in's to say we will be with you in a few minutes. They had a few customers. We then went into the gun range, the gentleman that helped us spoke so fast he had to repeat it to us. And he was very snotty about having to repeat. We should have left , but we wanted to shoot.. I will never go back there. I won't give my hard earned money to people that seem to not care about customer service. read more

I liked this place until today. I was on the shop-side of the establishment chatting with one of the shopkeepers, and a customer comes in looking for a belt holster. I'm trying to explain to him that I would never trust a belt hook because you could sit down, the holster brushes up against a chair or table, the hook pops off your belt and now your gun is clattering around on the food court floor. But the shopkeep starts talking over me, and he takes out an exemplary revolver from the display case and seems to thoughtlessly point it at me. I don't want to be rude (like him) or seem confrontational, so I decide to make a joke out of it by putting my hands up. Rather than admit his mistake, he goes right on pointing the thing at me as if to affirm that he can point a gun at me if he damn well chooses. This old fart is rude, dangerous, and indifferent to basic gun safety, and if I do go back to shoot here, I won't be visiting the store side again. It pains me to publicize behavior like this, but it's not acceptable. read more

My dad and I came and shot about 200 rounds at the range. Everyone was nice, no upselling, and fun to chat with for the couple of minutes we were waiting to shoot. Would have gave it ZERO stars if it would have let me. First let me start by pointing out that the gun range and gun shop are two different owners and companies. On the range side everyone there is awesome. Very helpful and polite. I'd give the range side five stars.....Now to the gun shop. Absolutely horrible to the public. Rudest staff on the grand strand. HUGE WORD OF WARNING....DO NOT USE PETE THE GUNSMITH FOR ANYTHING!!!! By far the worst gunsmith I've ever used. Payed him for some work that he was to incompetent to complete. Ended up being left with firearm being incomplete with springs put in the wrong place & a job I payed for not even completed. When trying to explain what was supposed to be done and even how it was supposed to be done I got a very disgruntled "I've been through armory school and telling you there no possible way for that to work!!" After receiving a piss poor attitude I left with my firearm, called the manufacturer of the part and installed it myself in under five minutes as they walked me through it. He was either just to lazy, or truly that incompetent. Either way he flat out lied about the firearm. Point blank I WOULDN'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THOSE PEOPLE IF IT WAS THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH. If you need something, use US Arms in Murrells Inlet. That guy truly wants the public's business and support of the community. A1 to deal with. AVOID 707 LIKE THE PLAGUE!! read more

very clean store and range. super friendly staff. range master stays out of your way (un-like some other places). very reasonable prices, nice selection of targets, some for only $.75. they follow all safety rules but in a relaxed manner. Had a great time plinking and looking fwd. to my next visit. Have been to other local ranges and this is by far the better place to shoot. read more
