Ask the Community - Conway Concealed Carry

Is the public able to come for shooting practice?

No, we use a private range that is closed to the public.

Does prior military have to take the course for a CWP?

Prior military has to take the classroom portion, they are exempt from the live fire. Also, if they are service connected through the VA (ant percentage) SLED waives the processing fee.

The indoor shooting range was nice and the drills he taught us helped me feel a lot more comfortable and confident with handling a pistol.

So far the Absolute worst gun buying experience of my life!…read more I looked online for a gun I wanted to purchase. I found it in stock online at Palmetto State Armory. I went to the store to purchase the firearm. When I got to the store I was informed I had to go back home and purchase the weapon online and have it sent to the store. (not sure why i couldn't just order it through the store, it was their online store) I did just that along with an accessory to go with the firearm. The firearm and the accessory were shipped at 2 different times to different locations so I was charged shipping twice ultimately causing me to pay twice as much for the grips as I could have purchased at the store while I was there. The firearm that I ordered finally came in 10 days later. I went to the store to pick up the firearm to be informed that it had come in damaged and they had already informed the warehouse and had reordered but could not tell me how long it would take to replace.(I understand damage but a phone call would have been nice) I checked back online and noticed that the firearm was no longer in stock online. I asked the associate if they had anything comparable in stock as this item was a gift and already 10 days late, he informed me, they did not. I asked if I could cancel and get a refund and was informed I needed to call customer service when I got back home. After getting online, the store, according to the website, has a firearm that would be acceptable as a substitute. I was willing to go back to the store and purchase the other firearm however I was then told by customer service that I could not get my refund until the store had absorbed the canceled gun in stock. So now I'm out $2000 for who knows how long, the store will not "absorb" this damaged gun into inventory, that would be dumb, so it will have to be shipped back. I've made 3 trips to the store with nothing to show for it and I still have to find a retirement gift and have it personalized. Tim Irish

We were interested mainly in beginner handgun safety. I know that Buddy & Jerry would customize the course to focus any any particular subject. The course lasted a little more than 2.5 hours and was reasonably priced. Buddy & Jerry are the best. During the course, they explain all the topics thoroughly and work with you to answer any & all questions along the way. They even asked at the end again, if there is anything else they could help with or if there was any topic that we wanted to go over with them. They are genuinely concerned with providing the best instruction and they delivered. The course covered clearing the gun, magazine loading, grip, sight picture, safety concerns \, ammunition, and much more. They assisted us with considerations when buying a handgun, some home-invasion scenarios, and details regarding how a gun functions with hands-on practice with a variety of handguns. The simulator is eye-opening as it presents you with actual real-life situations that place you in a "fire / no fire" position. This is not static range-type targets, but real life sequences - some even police dash-cam videos. The simulator tracks your shots for analysis. The kids enjoyed this part the most, and I think now we all appreciate the responsibility and pressure placed on gun owners and law enforcement officers to practice and to be able to make the proper split-second decisions if ever in that unfortunate situation. We are looking into the CWD class next. Thank you Buddy & Jerry!
