Then there was split teatime so Folk started on the back nine mid morning and the course was filled up yet it moved quick enough. The staff was great. The course was in good condition. The greens rolled good. The sand bunkers were an excellent condition and had been maintenance the morning of. Overall, just an excellent experience. I can see why some people would rate it low based on frustration of pace of play alone, but I say Book with confidence that you will get to play some golf. They've put so much time and money and hard work into this facility and golf courses especially BYRD. The Byrd course is in spectacular condition and only going to get better. To make things even better ,they have a fantastic beverage card attendant by the name of Betsy. You're not gonna find anyone better in the business ,than this young lady. We saw her frequently on the golf course and she was friendly and attentive. She even took time to do a picture with us to tease a friend lol. After our round, we stopped inside to the main bar area in the sports bar section. We met with our bartender Logan, who was extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable about golf in the area ,as well as Bourbon's and the like . To say that this place is now a must hit venue would be an understatement. This will now be the legends of the north. The facilities for stay and play packages are going to be outstanding. And the restaurants and bars are beyond top-notch. If you're looking for somewhere to stay on a golf package look no further.

This review is for the Davis Love III course. I've played…read morethe Noman and the Fazio before but not the Love or Dye courses. The Dye course is was being aerated so by default, I played the Love course today on a Monday with an 8am tee time. I was solo so I got paired with a father and son, John and Mike from Massachusetts. They had never played that course before so we all figured it out as we went along. The difficulty level is high. Many strategically placed bunkers. Many in the fairway, along the the sides of the fairway and many are green side bunkers. These impacted your play on most every hole. There is a fair amount of water that comes into play as well. There are ponds, creeks and marsh areas throughout. The tee boxes were all in excellent condition as were the greens. Most all of the fairways were green and well maintained. Like all the other Barefoot Resort courses, you get the GPS enabeled golf carts. There were two bathrooms on each of the nine holes. Pace of play was excellent and it didn't feel like it was crowded or rushed. We played 18 holes in about 4 hours and 15 minutes. There are several Par 3's that are very reachable. Like the other courses, you do not come back to the clubhouse on the turn. They did have a cart making regular rounds and were stocked with sandwiches as well as the beers, spirits and non-alcohol beverage choices. I got a great rate of $125.00 which is reduced from the Spring rate. I'll be looking forward to playing the Dye course my first opportunity.

The staff were very courteous. I wish we had a golf shop like Akers in my home town. Note: They also had a great selection of clubs, clothing, and shoes.
