There was broken/ missing play equipment and the splash pad was no longer in service, which was so disappointing given how hot it was outside and families rely on fun places like this to cool down.

After speaking with other people at the park, we were told the City of Temecula does not currently have plans to reopen it. This information definitely needs to be updated online so families know before making the trip. Aside from that, the playground itself is very clean and has a nice rubberized surface for the kids. There is a massive toddler playground with its own separate swing set, along with a larger playground for older kids. It is honestly a nice park, and the closed splash pad is the only reason I am giving it three stars.

There was a gazebo that provided shade. And a water fountain that had cold water. There was a large monument called " They passed this way," that listed the names of pioneers and people that are important in the history of Temecula I had a Great visit here .I didn't see any picnic tables but I did spot a family sitting at the gazebo having a picnic with plates on their laps. This park has a number of soccer fields that are well maintained. It's fun to see these young players learn good sportsmanship, engage in physical activity & develop their athletic skills while having fun. We're fortunate that Temecula has a robust parks & recreation program. We are also grateful to the coaches, who volunteer & dedicate their time to the youth soccer program. This park has held many other community events and is in a great location. Parking can be a bit tight so the game times are staggered. There are playgrounds and bridges as well as pickle ball courts. Overall it's a lovely park.

The hill echoes like Mother Nature's subwoofer just kicked in. Pro tip: Show up early unless you enjoy scavenger hunting for parking spots. Or pull the classic "park in some neighborhood and hope no one notices" move. Off-season? Still a blast... with skate ramps, basketball courts, baseball/soccer fields, pools, and enough playgrounds to wear your kids out before bedtime.

Sam Hicks Monument Park is located at the end of Front Street in Old Town Temecula. It is a shot…read morewalk to Oldtown and you can always find parking here. The park is about 2 acres acres and has a beautiful gazebo which is a really nice place to sit and relax. There are a ton of shade trees because Temecula in the summer can get very hot. The park has nice and clean picnic tables and BBQ grills. It is not usually crowded, but use of the BBQ area can get crowded for a kid's birthday or other family event. The entire are is very clean and you can bring your dog. Keep them on a leash. The restrooms are clean and safe. The Sam Hicks Monument (designed by Hicks) is made out of a 150 ton block of white granite. The monument was designed by Hicks to honor those who came through many years ago on their way to another California area to make a life. It is lovely. There is a super nice place area for kids and they will be busy about an hour. It is not huge, but wine/grape themed and super cute. It is a great place to park, go to the park and then walk over to Old Town.
