I really liked the treasure hunt aspect of the playground where there were symbols around the playground you could look for after spinning an arrow that landed on an item you could look for. There was plenty of parking. There's also no dirt or tanbark so your kids can keep much cleaner. The bad: Four of the five stick things with metal chains where kids could stand was missing. Perhaps it was betting fixed. The interesting: I couldn't find the bee symbol anywhere. Let me know if you found it!

We drove the hour to come up from San Diego to Temecula to visit this park and spend the day with littles. Arrived at noon on a weekday, and the team was very informative about their lunch time closure and process. Check the city website. They do have great information and details there as well. I love that things were fenced off -- both around the playground and again around the splash pad -- to moderate the number of folks entering and exiting. The team working there is very kind.. keeps a good eye on the littles (parents do need to enter with the kids).. and do moderate the number of folks to avoid over crowding. This splash pad is associated with the Margarita Community park (https://www.yelp.com/biz/margarita-community-park-temecula) but the splash pad itself is listed separately with the city. I wanted to recognize the great job the team working the splash pad did. It's not huge.. but it's just right for kids up to early elementary. Mostly for the littles in attendance are of the age where they are just discovering their walking skills and can enjoy the splash of water on a hot day. The other kids weren't too crazy or rambunctious.. so I felt safe. Parents that day (weekday during school hours).. did pay close attention to their own children to keep everyone in check. There is one outdoor shower post to rinse off (the water is highly chlorinated -- or has a smell like outdoor pool water). Not much shade so definitely bring the sunscreen and hats. Recommend water shoes... even though the ground was clean and paved, the ground does get a bit toasty and it's just safer imo. They run in 55 minute increments to then shut the water off. and give the space a break and refresh the crowds. Once school lets out.. it does get more crowded in both the park and the splash pad. I believe the splash pad (as well as the surrounding park) are ADA accessible which is fantastic. I'm happy to see that all friends, of all abiliites, are able to enjoy fun time in the sun! There was a gazebo that provided shade. And a water fountain that had cold water. There was a large monument called " They passed this way," that listed the names of pioneers and people that are important in the history of Temecula I had a Great visit here .I didn't see any picnic tables but I did spot a family sitting at the gazebo having a picnic with plates on their laps. It was much more impressive and curated that I was expecting, considering that is all volunteered sustained and managed. Such a wonderful and joyful landscape. I was expecting more fragrant type of roses and more plumpy gorgeous ones but, hey, free entrance (donations welcomed) and impeccable landscaping, mini gardens and spaces, including a cool leaf shape bench and meditation labyrinth. I enjoyed my very Mediterranean diet lunch in this place under a tree talking a bit with a couple of volunteers. Also, I had the opportunity to see people doing some photo shooting and looks like a perfect spot for that

This park has a number of soccer fields that are well maintained. It's fun to see these young players learn good sportsmanship, engage in physical activity & develop their athletic skills while having fun. We're fortunate that Temecula has a robust parks & recreation program. We are also grateful to the coaches, who volunteer & dedicate their time to the youth soccer program. This park has held many other community events and is in a great location. Parking can be a bit tight so the game times are staggered. There are playgrounds and bridges as well as pickle ball courts. Overall it's a lovely park.

I also saw people sitting in the grass having a picnic lunch. There are sculptures and memorials to the US Military, and some other sculptures from Europe and beyond. Sam Hicks Monument Park is located at the end of Front Street in Old Town Temecula. It is a shot…read morewalk to Oldtown and you can always find parking here. The park is about 2 acres acres and has a beautiful gazebo which is a really nice place to sit and relax. There are a ton of shade trees because Temecula in the summer can get very hot. The park has nice and clean picnic tables and BBQ grills. It is not usually crowded, but use of the BBQ area can get crowded for a kid's birthday or other family event. The entire are is very clean and you can bring your dog. Keep them on a leash. The restrooms are clean and safe. The Sam Hicks Monument (designed by Hicks) is made out of a 150 ton block of white granite. The monument was designed by Hicks to honor those who came through many years ago on their way to another California area to make a life. It is lovely. There is a super nice place area for kids and they will be busy about an hour. It is not huge, but wine/grape themed and super cute. It is a great place to park, go to the park and then walk over to Old Town.
