This is a typical diner. But so far stands as one of my top places for breakfast in the area. I'm a big breakfast lover and the portions and taste here are fantastic. The pricing isn't terrible but the service isn't anything to brag about. So disappointing. Found it a little odd that on a Sunday morning after mass there would be several empty parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We have eaten here for years used to be a wait to get in. Well it's no wonder with the waitress we had. Asked Three yes three times to refresh my coffee her response was "ya I heard you "there were four full pots of coffee on the burners but she started making more never getting us coffee then watched her walk over to the bus person and say can't she see I'm running around. Best place for breakfast hands down! Very fast service. Waitresses are very polite. After you order you get your food in ten min or less. If your very hungry they have a "House Special" which is 1 pancake or one slice of french toast, two eggs, home fries, toast and a side of meat. The pancakes are huge. This is your standard greasy-spoon diner restaurant with a shared parking lot. The inside hasn't seen a makeover probably since it was first established. The colors and decor could definitely use some updating to bring it into the 21st century. But then, that would raise the costs of your $7.00 breakfast to maybe $10.00 and we wouldn't want that. The diner has booths and a long, low counter. It's best to figure what you want and order right away to keep on pace with the staff racing around to serve all the customers. I've only come on the weekends and it is usually pretty busy. The menu items do not change so it is not that difficult to pick out which eggs or pancakes you want, all standard diner fare. I usually get the hungry man breakfast which is pancakes/french toast, eggs, bacon, toast, or some kind of variation. I have never been disappointed with this meal and am always full and satisfied. The servers have always been on point to refill the coffee and drop off the check. The coffee will wake you up and tastes good. I recommend this diner and see myself going back. read more

We were a little worried looking at the outside of the restaurant and arriving a bit past rush hour and the floors were sorta dirty, but the did was delicious and staff friendly and attentive. The cafe is not fancy by any means but offers the regular staples of a diner/cafe and has quick service. The omelet was great as well as the home fries and we were pleased with the experience. Seriously? I made a review not too long ago because of one waitress. Instead of talking to me about it the owner got mad at me. Seems waitresses get to decide who the customers are and if a waitress doesn't like you the owner just complies. Since when is the waitress always right? They said I was banned from their website, too. So you know, her name is Jesse and she usually only works the counter and the register and she's not so proficient at either. She gets orders wrong and gives the wrong change. She also has a hard time talking. It's sometimes very hard to understand her. Just don't get on her bad side. The food is good. That's about it. The owner goes through waitresses and waiters, too, because he yells at them. So he's a peach, too. Keep not listening to your customers, Marco. Best breakfast in Bristol by far and in the surrounding towns. I would give this place 5 stars but some of the wait staff leaves you sitting there while U can't finish your meal because your too thirsty or leaves you waiting for your check for far too long when you are ready to go. Or brings pancakes without syrup or coffee without creamer, then looks at you oddly when having to go to an empty table to get what you need because she is talking in the front. Do I really have to ask the waitress after 20 minutes to stop filling ketchups ect.. and ask if we need anything? What ever happened to a waitress or waiter automatically bringing water? We ate breakfast at the Riverside Restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regulars, but it wasn't too cliquey. A more extensive menu than many breakfast places - lots of options for omelettes, and several add-ins for the pancakes. My Daughter and Best Friend went there for breakfast this morning. We have been going there for years, but not recently until today. The waffles were not anything like what we had in the past. They served whipped cream that was flat to the waffle, my friend sent her's back. The coffee tastes like mud!!!!! That isn't the worst of it. When we got up to pay the tab, the owner rang up our bill. I nearly passed out. $32 for 3 waffles!!!! They added extra for whipped cream, fruit,...I think there were about 10 blueberries and a few slices of peaches on my waffle. Surprised we weren't charged to use the silverware!!!! The owner became extremely agitated when I said that he was robbing us. $9 for a tiny little poor quality waffle!!! He said everyone charges that much. We were so upset. Then I said to a waitress that we have known for years, this is ridiculous, we never paid that much before, and she of course sided with the owner. We don't mind paying a fair amount for good food, but unless there was a 14K gold filling in the waffle, we were overcharged. Wish we had gone to IHop.
