Great time with our Great guide, Carrie

I wanted to do a team building experience for our new team members at work. The folks at Riverside were easy to work with through the booking process. Our guide, Carrie, was awesome. Her energy was infectious and knowledge of the city was fun. I highly recommend Riverside and definitely suggest requesting Carrie

Thank you Charles and riverside outfitters for the most fun I have had in a long time. First of all Charles was amazing in so many ways - told us how to white water raft which we never done, made sure we had as much fun as possible and where to swim, made sure everyone had snacks and water and told us so much about the river and surrounding neighborhood ( thanks for the food recommendations they all where 5 stars). I would recommend this company for ease of everything and also for the great guide.

We had a blast today on the river with our first white water trip. Hayley was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable!! Thank for a fun day!!

Excellent rafting experience and excellent guides. Two big rapid hits. One Hollywood and the other at the end. The stop at the end everyone gets off the raft and watch those who want to surf the rapids or flip the raft.

Had a blast today even though it was raining a bit! I've been down many rivers and the staff here were the best from any other establishment I've been to. From the front desk to the driver and our tour guides 5/5! Definitely check these guys out for a great time!

What a cool way to explore Richmond! Our guides were really thorough and fun. You could tell they loved what they do and enjoy taking people out on the water. We got to float in the river during calm water, heard all about the city, took in the views, swung off a rope swing, and paddled through class 3-4 rapids. What a great experience! Highly recommend for tourists with a taste of adventure or even just a fun couple hours out on the water. Go check them ou

My fiancee and I were invited by a co-worker to go kayaking down the James about a month ago. Having only kayaked once (but enjoyed it!), and on a lake, we thought it sounded pretty fun, so we decided to go. As the day came closer we weren't sure how dangerous kayaking down rapids were (lakes are much more calm!), but we were excited all the same. And what a blast it was! We did one of those guided tours where a small group of 5 - 10 people kayak down the river together with one or two guides showing you where to go to avoid certain death (kidding) and in general how to get the most out of kayaking. Our guides were Amelia and Mary and both of them were fantastic! They taught us the basic paddle strokes to maneuver around the river, best ways to face the rapids, how to avoid the rocks, and what to do when you still hit them anyway. Not that kayaking itself isn't fun, but having guides who really enjoy doing what they do is a fun thing. Cost wise, the experience was fairly light on the wallet. It was roughly $50 a person which covers the shuttle from their building to the river, kayak rental, beverages, and a snack break mid way. The whole experience was about 3 hours with a good couple hours of river time. For anyone unsure if they should do the Upper River or the Flat River course, do the upper river. This is the one that contains rapids, and while they're only Class I and II, they're really fun and anybody should be able to handle them, I really don't have anything bad to say about the company. Besides kayaking, they also offer Stand Up Paddle Boards, White Water Rafting, Tubing, and a shop. If you don't want to do a group / guide thing, you can also rent the boats too. People were also hanging around the building because it seems like a pretty laid back and chill place to spend a couple hours after boating on the river. If anybody is looking to do something a little adventurous and fun and Kayaking sounds fun, by all means give Riverside Outfitters a go. Tons of fun and I know they'll be seeing me again in the future.

We loved our experience here!! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Our two hour kayaking trip (tandem) was fun, affordable, and easy. Highly recommend.

Pros: - The staff: They are pleasant, knowledgeable about climbing, and a joy to be around. - Climbing: Engaging, and I love the routes they come up with. - Community: Great people, and truly what I'll miss most. Cons: - Filth: There is no regular professional cleaning service and the grime continues to be ignored. It has built up to a point I cannot justify paying the exorbitant price. -- There have been small black bugs in the spa shower since July 2025, and I have notified staff several times. They have multiplied in this time. Picture/video attached. -- There is black mold in both the steam room and sauna. I have notified staff several times. I go to the steam and sauna for my asthma, but it only makes it worse at Triangle. Pictures attached. -- For those that aren't spa-goers, it may disgust you to learn that triangle staff, after acknolwedging the aforementioned points, said the nastiest thing in the gym is the rock holds. -- The turf in the weight room is sticky in parts and matted down with conglomerated sweat. - Unresponsive: I brought up issues many times with staff, but the cleanliness never gets addressed. It took over a year of multiple members complaining about urine stains and smells in the mens bathroom for them to simply add an air freshener and smell-reducing pad to the toilets. -- I do NOT expect your desk staff to clean the whole facility. This requires a competent professional service. -- A response from triangle to a prior review from a month ago mentioned a professional crew within "the coming week or so." There has been no change, not in the last month, not in the last 2 years. - Pricing: I originally paid the individual membership price of $89 a month. When my roommates discovered the group plan we were told it would be $39 each for 3 members. Seemed too good to be true but we were reassured. Online, 3 members should amount to $197 ($66 each). Turns out we were charged $267 ($89 each) per month of our group membership. Triangle has not returned any of our contact about this overcharging and it is beginning to feel predatory. So, Triangle, I implore you to: 1. Clean your entire facility. It's embarrassing. 2. Provide straightforward pricing for memberships and make sure all staff are trained in this before they sign people up. 3. Respond to your members concerns. We want to keep being a part of Triangle. Thank you, and I would be elated to see these changes and revise my review to reflect them.

I reluctantly agree with…read moreJared's 1-star review that TRC does not keep up its facility. 5 stars to the staff, setters, and community. 1 to the management and upkeep. Have been member 2 yrs, roughly 3 times a week. In that time, the spa has had either or both the hot tub or the cold plunge out of temp/order at least once a week. When I finally spoke up about it in Jan 2026, the spa closed for several weeks for "repair". The hot tub remains broken/tepid, and the cold plunge has been over 50F, sometimes 65F, most days since they replaced the chiller, though it's set at 46F. The sauna bench is collapsing from rot. Yes there's mold. Saw the bugs in Jared's video--that's where you shower before you get in hot/cold tubs. The spa floor has been cleaner most days, but still has the occasional muck and mud suggesting nobody has looked at it all day. Last year there was a piece of green chewing gum on the floor for 3 months. Audio system in common area is blown/distorted--since late 2025. Maybe turn it off if it's pumping out static and you're not willing to fix it? Problem solved. Exercise bike missing pedal straps since Sept 2025 despite 3+ emails to TRC. Why do you leave a broken machine in this room? Maybe remove it if you're not willing to fix it? Problem solved. So much of this is own-goal stuff. Painful to see. Infuriating to pay for. My emails to ask these things be fixed have been met with a mixture of genuine understanding, lip service, advice on "how I shouldn't feel about it", and assurances that they're looking into it. I'm not a hot tub repairman, but for the 5-6 weeks? the spa was closed to unsuccessfully repair it, a new one could have been installed that is current tech. The CEO graciously offered me a refund on me and my partner's $1400+ annual prepaid membership. I hope I do not have to take him up on that, I would miss my friends and climbing partners and the excellent work of the setters (yall rock). I am afraid to get my hopes up, but am leaving this here less as a warning to others and more in an effort to light a fire under the operators to maintain their facility and provide the services its members pay for.

So I was really excited when I found this sewing lesson shop. It was $125 for three classes. I took Monday evening classes that were meant to be slotted for 2 hours, but our sweet teacher would go earlier and stay later to let us finish the projects. Do know that this is not a true beginner class. I wish they noted that you want to take machine fundamentals before, but as a beginner I was lost a lot of the time. Our class felt like it had way too many students at times, because our teacher took a 1:1 approach and sometimes you'd be waiting for her help for a while. This does not affect my review, but our poor teacher got sick before the second class, so there was a lot of rescheduling. She did her absolute best to accommodate us which was really kind. I wish in the Level 1 we got an overall explanation of how to do things so we weren't left lost and waiting for our teacher to help us. Do know that a good amount of the tools here are well loved. On my second class, I ended up at two broken machines and wasn't able to finish my project that night. Thankfully the teacher let me come early the third class to finish it. Each class you create a new project. We made a tote bag, a zipper pouch, and a little bucket kitchen bag. I think if I went in knowing more about the machine I would've had a better experience. If you're a true beginner, be sure to take fundamentals beforehand or learn machine basics first.

The first time we came it was on time and we loved the Dragon Tower escape room: it was the perfect mix of puzzle and action. This time we showed up 10 minutes early and they said they were running 5-10 minutes behind because of "cleaning issues". Well it turned into 20 minutes late so thankfully we already canceled our dinner reservations. I think it would've been fine if it wasn't $250 for a family of five for 38 minutes and the ninja trials escape room was not as exciting or interesting as dragon tower. Also one of the equipment pieces we were given was faulty so that made it less fun for one of us.

Pelagos VR is a fantastic addition to the area for unique entertainment, and there are so many…read moreoptions within it! Just as a quick rundown, there are three main types of VR here: the front area where you are strapped into a VR system and can run in place, a virtual escape room, and a VR action arena (large room with VR cameras on the walls and you can physically run around). I haven't tried the escape room and I liked the strap-in ones, though it's the VR arena that really elevates this place. So far I have done Patient Zero and several rounds of the Urban Assault in the arena, and it's an amazing experience. Between the excellent physical tracking, the true-recoil VR guns, and the actual movement in the real world mapping to the VR world, it is insanely immersive and easy to adapt to. It is quite exciting too: I was fortunate enough to participate in their latest tournament and it was chaotic fun from start to finish. The tournaments are a special treat because for now the entry fee is only $20 while the regular experiences run a fair bit more, so it's an insanely good deal for the amount of fun you're having. On top of the excellent experiences, I would be remiss if I didn't highlight their incredible staff. This is mostly a family-run place and it shows with how kind and personable everyone here is, with positive attitudes, a true love for what they do, and excellent mastery of VR tech and training new players. I have met the owner twice and he goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated for their visits. The most underrated part here is actually nothing to do with VR but actually their bar offerings: the happy hour here is every day of the week (including weekends) and you can get $4 beers (including a few local drafts) and very reasonably priced appetizers. If I were in the area and just wanted a quick beer with a friend before doing something else, I would absolutely come here for it at those fantastic prices. Since Pelagos VR is attached to the mall, there is plenty of lot parking very close by, so no issues there. Really the only drawback of this place is the price, particularly if you come by yourself or one other person as their price structure rewards larger groups. I would absolutely come here with a friend group because of that though a date night here would add up fast. I look forward to coming here again with friends, especially for the tournaments. This is one heck of an outing to look forward to! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Amazing and unique VR experiences, truly memorable in every way. - Multiple options, including stationary running, open arena, or escape room. - Fantastic staff who are kind, knowledgeable, and clearly happy to be there. - Excellent happy hour food deals, worth trying even without the VR. - Easy parking and access since attached to the mall. - Pricing for large groups and the tournaments are great... Cons: - ...though the cost for a small group (especially for only one or two people) is a bit prohibitive unless you have deep pockets. Their pricing is entirely reasonable given what you get for it, though this is really the only thing that keeps me from going every week. Maybe one day they'll have a membership or a punchcard pass option!
