We're a bunch of escape room fanatics. :) We did the elephant shujaa room where the objective is to hunt down the poachers. You enter a tent to search for clues to hunt down the location of the poachers to capture them. I really did feel like I was in Africa with the heat (haha). Points for immersion :) We were provided with a walkie-talkie and 3 hints if needed. Sleuthing around the tent required being very observant, attention to detail and team work. The clues made sense and were not convoluted. I wouldn't recommend the max of 8 people. It can get tight in there. Maybe 2-5people. We had a good time despite the heat. We broke out with 11min and 29 seconds to spare with a group of 3. If you're in town, check this place out! I hail from VB so the next time I do come it will be if I'm in the area for other things.

From the apple cider and greeting haunts to the small groups exploring the incredibly detailed and wonderfully designed mazes and haunted houses, there's a lot to love here. The animatronics were fantastic, and several of the scares genuinely caught me off guard. Don't let the statues fool you! The smoke effects, twirling room, acting, and storylines created some really impressive moments. The gift shop is adorable, too, and you can tell a tremendous amount of thought, creativity, and hard work went into this experience. I want to be fair: this was early in the season, and it was a cold, rainy night, so I understand staffing may have been affected. But if this haunt is going to reach its full potential, I think two things need serious, permanent investment: more actors and much stronger microphone amplification (for actors and for ALL SOUNDS--everything has to be much louder--much much louder and scarier). More actors--ideally TRIPLE the number currently throughout the attractions. The performers who were there were working hard and staying in character. This isn't a criticism of them. There simply weren't enough performers to fully utilize these incredible environments. The sets are there. The animatronics are there. The effects are there. Fill those spaces with actors. And most importantly: PLEASE turn up the actors' microphones. I especially want to hear what the actors are saying. If you've created characters, dialogue, storylines, and elaborate scenes, guests need to be able to hear them. Their voices are too swallowed by overall noise of the haunt (which actually could be wayyyy louder). The microphones need to be much, much louder and powerful enough for the actors' voices and dialogue to cut through everything else. Let them yell at guests. Let them deliver their lines. Let them interact with people from across the room. Let us hear the characters you've created. This isn't simply about making the haunt louder. It's about making the actors--and their dialogue--audible. I would strongly encourage making proper actor amplification a PERMANENT part of the production rather than something that depends on the conditions of a particular night. Invest in this for sure. It's worth it and will be terrifying. I'd also recommend replacing the repetitive entrance music with a more dynamic horror soundtrack--different creepy songs, atmospheric sounds, and dramatic effects that build anticipation before guests even enter. There is a tremendous amount of potential here. The production design is impressive, the animatronics are great, and the performers who were there were giving it their all. Four stars from me. I'd absolutely come back later in the season. If you permanently increase the number of performers and, above all, make sure we can actually hear what those performers are saying, make ALL SOUND EFFECTS AND MUSIC 10x louder I think you'll take an already impressive haunt to another level.

He is fantastic with planning and has a knack for creating the exact feel you are going for with your event! The staff is incredibly friendly and the service was amazing. The chef Jon prepared us a delicious assortment of heavy hors-devours and the most mouth-watering mashed potato bar. All around 5 stars at our event. I can also say they are consistent - I attended a wedding at this venue a few years back and had a similarly lovely experience then as well. Absolutely would recommend!!

I found out I won 24 hours before the event. Babe! !! Road trip! !! I didn't mind driving up from Chesapeake to attend this event in Richmond. This event is world renowned so heck yeah we're game to attend. Parking was a beast!! We arrived about 2pm and the event I believe started about 10am. So yeah we were super late and knew we would have to deal with ridiculous lines for the wine sampling. But no worries... We were blessed to run into a man that was coming out of one of the pay to park lots and he offered to give us his paid for parking voucher. A free voucher for 3 hours...yaWhoooooooo!!! So let's do the math...free tickets valued at $55 each and now free parking...Oh we are in store for an awesome Saturday! ! I didn't do my research on this event, but if we ever return again I'll be ready. They offered private samplings throughout the day and I believe I saw evening tastings too. These tastings included food sampling as well. Bummer...most we sold out too. I believe about 20 openings were available for each private sampling. I'm sure this made an awesome time for a day date or date night. I saw something about a burger blast not sure what that is, but mad we missed that too. I tell yeah it was a lot going on and I'm sorta disappointed we didn't get the full wine expo experience. So definitely do your research before you attend. But we're checked in and wristband ready!! I was able to get a free wine bag that holds up to 6 bottles of wine...ahmazing! !! We picked up our crystal wine glasses...they were beautiful!!! We didn't know where to start. Let's start where the lines are the shortest. As time went on no lines were short so be ready to wait. Patience indeed. All the wine and malt liquor you can stand...this is the event for you! Every 10 minutes it seemed you'd hear a loud roar or cheer even. I thought some kind of contest was going on but nope!! Wine glasses were being dropped left and right, therefore, cheers if you will! ! :) Amongst the wineries different vendors were present and my fav there was Yelp!!! Heyyyy Bevin! !! She was the Yelp ambassador present on Saturday afternoon. She was awesome at greeting guests and telling them more about Yelp. She also had some cool swag to pass out to those that expressed interest. But the highlight at the table, Yelp provided beads and stems to make wine jewelry!! Fun fun fun!! The people here are great, they are all wonderful and welcoming and committed to this place which I love. The atmosphere, service, and experience here is top tier. The food is pretty darn good and definitely worth rolling out of bed for brunch. I had a fever dream mocktail, We split the waffle flight, and a bacon, egg and cheddar cheese croissant, as well as some maple tots. I've also had the plain tots. The tots are fantastic, they are so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They are perfect. I wanted to love the maple butter version of it, for that sweet and savory combo, but I actually kind of would have rather just had plain tots and dipped them in syrup or ketchup. They just weren't maple enough for my likings. The waffle flight was great to try once, to figure out what you like, but I definitely have a strooooong preference toward some of the waffles over others. The rainbow road was cute, just had m&m minis on top to give it some color, which I liked but didn't love. Mainly because I can do that at home. The strawberry velvet was probably my least favorite because the raspberry drizzle was just... strong. I wanted to love it, but I would have preferred maybe just some fresh berries simmered down over the bright red sauce that kind of tickled my throat. My kiddos would have probably loved it, it was definitely giving off strawberry squeeze bottle syrup vibes which some people love but just aren't for me. The midnight waffle was my second favorite because it was chocolate and white chocolate and I love those things. I just realized it said it had raspberry drizzle, but I don't remember that part which is probably why I loved it so much. Chocolate = good: 'nuff said. The absolute star of the plate was the razzle dazzle in all its cinnamon sugar churro glory... best waffle ever. It was amazing. It is definitely unique, delicious, and the perfect sweet breakfast eat. I will order it every time now, it was fantastic. Skip the rest and just go for this one. The protein croissant was also a great choice, you choose between ham, bacon or prosciutto, and cheddar, provolone or mozzarella, and it comes with egg. The egg was sooooo fluffy and delicious, the bacon was cooked perfectly. It was savory and salty and perfect. I definitely recommend going with a friend and splitting a savory croissant and a sweet razzle dazzle waffle and it ticks literally every box for brunch/hangover food. The fever dream mocktail was also pretty good on its own and I like that the ginger beer in the mocktails goes a long way in helping with any leftover tummy aches from last night, if you are the sort of person who parties hard on Saturday and sleeps til brunch on Sunday. I probably would not order it again with the sweet waffles because pineapple ginger beer and waffles were not a great combo, but it would have been killer if I were just going for tots and a protein croissant. Generally not a problem since I almost always pay by card, but I do generally prefer to leave cash tips. Also, the parking situation is mostly street with assorted lots scattered randomly around and apparently you only have to pay from like 9-6 or something like that Monday through Friday - which the street signs do not say - but there is a tiny little sticker on the parking pay boxes. Download the parking app to make it easier because we found that the machine will sure as heck take your money ($5 for2 hours even if you are parking at 5:58pm on a Wednesday), but the app will prorate you "do you want to pay 70 cents to park for 15 minutes until the parking is free?"

Everyone that we had contact with employee wise were great. Everyone was helpful, kind, and professional We ate first while we waited for our lanes to be open. It was jam packed with crispy bacon that I asked for, lettuce, tomato, mayo sandwiched between 2 thick slices of bread. The pizzas looked delicious. They are made in a fire pizza oven. All of the food came out piping hot. Out waitress was great. She was attentive and made sure everything came out, and our drinks were always filled. The waffles were a perfect sweetness, and had a good amount of berries and paired with syrup that I think was maple syrup. My friends, and husband raved about their drink with alcohol. So kudos to the bartenders. The dry rub wings had a great crispy to them and they did not lack seasoning. Lastly, get the cheddar biscuits. They are made fresh, and had great flavor. They had scoop of butter, grape and strawberry jelly. When it came time for bowling. Our bill and drinks were transferred over to the alley tab. Our shoes were waiting for us at the lanes. Bowling was a breeze, and navigating the computer system to keep score was easy. The seating in the alleys were leather couches, and a table to have food at. There was a waitress walking around getting anything we needs, like food, drinks or problems that needed to be solved. Bathrooms were clean and amusing with signage. It made me giggle. The supplies were well stocked. The alleys and property inside and out were very clean. The surrounding area seems to be making a change, but it is still questionable in some areas, and there is a lot of construction nearby. I always felt safe though. There was a misunderstanding with the reservation process and turns out we never had a reservation. Either way Ben stepped up and just made things right. He was great. He took care of us.
