It was clean, there was cable, there were mini soaps, and the water was clean, but it cost an arm and a leg

We stopped on our cross country road trip, as heavy snow was expected…read more First - pool and spa are "permanently closed." Second - Our room was DISGUSTING. Looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in MONTHS. Dust on everything, bathroom dirty and the best part, a PILL found in the floor. We requested they come clean the room and she did a half assed job, but we braved the weather the next morning and left ASAP. 0/10.

The fan…read morehad an option for constant fan, it didn't work. we had the heat on and at 74°, but the room was freezing by 1 am. Our toddler had to get out of her pack n play and sleep in a separate bed with me just to warm up. By 9 am, the room was feeling better. Cleanliness was a 1/10. The edge of the tub was stained brown. There was dirt all over the place, especially under the table and in places staff could have easily gotten to, just chose to ignore. Comfort of the hotel as a whole was also a 1/10. When we checked in at 4, another woman was in there getting ready for a children's pool party. so where did the hotel put us? Right above the pool. Where we heard constant kids yelling until past 11:00 pm when it finally shut down. We have no problem with kids having fun. We have an 18 month old. But why put a family, with a toddler trying to sleep, above a loud area? Especially when there were only 3-4 other actual overnight cars in the parking lot. There we're more rooms available. Staff - 1/10. The night desk lady took longer to check us in because she was talking with her friend, the woman who was getting ready for the pool party. Then willingly held the friend's baby so the other lady could set up for the party. again, no problem with helping others, but you have a job, and the baby was a distraction. As far as her actual job, she wasn't doing it. She was just talking about life's drama with her friend, when she could have checked us in, then gone back to their story time. Also, every time we walked through the lobby to get to the elevator, she was standing in the hall by the restrooms on the outside area of where guests can sit, and had a cigarette in her hands. One time it was while she was holding her friend's baby. So that was putting guests' and a baby's safety at risk. One of the cleaning staff had his dog with him in the hall while cleaning this morning. We have dogs, I love dogs, but you don't agree with cleaning staff being allowed their dogs at a hotel. Especially where people who are potentially allergic could be affected by this. Finally, waited for awhile at the front desk to get a receipt of our stay this morning. I dialed the number on the phone like it said to get the front desk person to come to the front, but she ignored it. several times. We heard her in the office watching tv, or something on her phone. We even called out to her. She just ignored it. So, we finally left. 0/10 overall, do NOT recommend staying here.

Oak Tree Inn - View of the kitchen and desk area from the bed. I took the photo as we were checking out, so it's a bit messy.

Tldr: Go here if you value good breakfast and good WiFi over cushy comfort…read more This is a nice enough hotel, but it's definitely meant for the single traveler. My husband and I came here, thinking it was a local hotel and not a chain, but it is a chain(albeit a dispersed one), specifically meant for railroad/construction employees (This website explains that: https://lodgingenterprises.com). The hotel rooms had a full kitchenette: full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a two-burner little induction stove top. There was a pot and a pan, a single bowl, a single plate, a single set of silverware (fork, knife, spoon), and a single coffee cup. The bed was set up for one person (two pillow, stacked on top of each other in the middle of the bed, and there were only two bath towels ( the THINNEST towels I've ever experienced in a hotel, but adequate). That being said, it was nice enough. The breakfast was made-to-order (You get vouchers for two eggs, any style, hash browns, choice of sausage, bacon or ham, and choice of toast or pancake, plus coffee or tea). It's definitely better than your average hotel breakfast. And the WiFi was free, and reliable--we watched the latest Game Of Thrones on our laptop, and it didn't buffer at all. The blackout curtains were the best blackout curtains I've ever had in a hotel room, too. The bathtub was deeper than average, which made for a nice soak after a week of camping. The mattress was firm but not uncomfortable (and I have a back injury, so I'm particularly sensitive to that). They do have a AAA rate, but be sure to ask for it at the beginning, or they'll have to redo your reservation completely :) All in all, this hotel was serviceable, but not the local gem we were expecting after reading the existing Yelp reviews.

New hotel. Very clean and comfortable. They have thick walls and insulating curtains that block out…read morelight- all for a good night sleep. Little different that you check in at the diner next store. Breakfast is also in the diner. You get coupons that you pick three breakfast items from. Very cool and better than the usual waffle machine and fruit loops like other chain hotels. Just be prepared that drinks are not free and you must tip. The diner is very cute 50s style. The hotel was modern with high end fixtures and furniture. Just strange arrangement- things like light switch placement and super high hand towel holder. Like they bought all the best stuff, but then just hired someone to put it in- not a designer. But no points off here. Very pleasant night sleep.
