I first went to Dr. Pourshadi with a stiff neck (hint: don't binge watch TV from bed!) which my regular doctor (and referred specialists) had not succeeded in correcting. Over a period of several months, he fully restored the range of motion in my neck, through a program of exercise and some spinal manipulation. He is very gentle (none of those surprise head-jerks some chiropractors seem to revel in) and is always caring and careful to explain what is coming. I have the highest recommendation for him. The practice also provides acupuncture and massage therapy. I have not tried the acupuncture, but have been very happy with the few sessions of massage which I have had. It personally always gives me peace of mind when a doctor understands what I'm feeling and knows how to take care of the issues I'm dealing with and have a proper treatment plan to address my issues. I was fortunate to select Riverside Chiropractic in 2016 when I was desperate to relieve back pain. Dr. Pourshadi has helped me many times for different problems since then. Mary has always gotten me in right away if I've been hurting. I have actually baby-stepped into the office in tears and walked out smiling and pain-free. Just recently, I finally got my stubborn husband to call their office for his excruciating back pain. Mary had him come in that afternoon. After a couple of visits, he is so thankful I pushed him to go, and he now understands why I am always so grateful that I found Dr. Pourshadi. This practice is EXTREMELY devoted to their patients' well-being! In the family practice I work at I highly recommend Riverside to patients looking for chiropractic care. When it comes to my care, I will deal with any insurance misunderstandings or language barriers, if ever they arise (unlike some of the negative reviewers here). I absolutely LOVE Riverside Chiropractic. I started going maybe 2 years ago for neck and back pain. The initial appointment is very thorough and the Dr. makes sure to find out all of your ailments, asks about sleep positions, diet, etc and does a once over to determine your alignment issues. To start I was seen twice a week and my visits gradually lessened over time as I started to feel better. At each visit I was treated and then offered the electronic muscle therapy and sometimes the massage bed. Dr. Pourshadi has given me many suggestions on how to correct my posture at home and I even ended up buying a pillow that they offer in their office to help with my neck trouble. Mary, the receptionist, is wonderful! I love chatting with her before my visits. :) She is very professional, friendly and always has a smile. Only weeks into my visits I could call the office and no matter who answered the phone (Mary or Dr. Pourshadi) they would know exactly who I was when I said my name and always greet me as if I am an old friend. I just recently started going back after my pregnancy (because I was unaware that I could have gone THROUGHOUT my pregnancy or else I would have!) and when I called Dr. Pourshadi said "Oh Laura! How are you? We haven't seen you in a while!". After all that time, and all of his other patients he knew exactly who I was. This is what I consider a great Dr/patient relationship. I think Dr. Pourshadi is wonderful at what he does and truly loves helping people. Terrible service! Unprofessional! completely unorganized! Asking me for the same info multiple times! Which is Very aggravating... also a bit of a language barrier they must not have understood me over the phone which is why they needed to ask for all my info again once I got there.... I called and gave them all my insurance info and asked for their NPI number so I could get a referral from my doctor they said I wouldn't need it and then asked me why I didn't get a referral from my doctor once I got there! Mind you I gave them my insurance info over a week before my appointment and they never wrote it down which is why they didn't try and see if my insurance would cover the treatment! Essentially called me a liar because when I brought this up they said it never happened as if Im lying and I don't need help! Tried to cop out by saying I called the wrong place to give them my info LOL then how did I make an appointment! I didn't even get seen by a doctor because of all this stuff and there's no way I'm trusting them with my health after the lack of organization and ability to effectively communicate with patients! I have been going for the last four years for a variety of issues , including maternity care (twice). I cannot praise this practice enough . All the staff are very professional, compassionate, knowledgeable and attentive . They recently added massage service which is wonderful as well for a very reasonable price . My husband wanted to give this place a try to help him out with his neck/back problems. He had done his research a week before going in and called them to set up and appointment. They asked him for his insurance information to which he gave them. This morning he called them before going in and again they asked him for his insurance information which he had to give again. He called his insurance company to make sure he was covered to visit here and they said he was they just needed an NPI number provided by the chiropractor (the chiropractor when asked on the phone before the appointment didn't give it to him) upon arrival my husband again had to sit down and fill out all of his insurance information on paper. The receptionist told him he called the wrong place because they didn't have his insurance info. She also said they needed a referral from a doctor to be seen which isn't something said on the phone this morning when he called. He also asked for the NPI number needed by the insurance company which at the office the chiropractor himself asked him,"why would I give that to you?" My husband simply replied "Thats what the insurance company asked for." At first the chiropractor completely denied talking to him about it on the phone and then treated my husband as if he was lying. My husband would not go out of his way to lie to people who he needs medical help from first of all. Second of all anyone who has to give their insurance information numerous times because your company for some reason didn't write the information down is going to get frustrated. Third, lying to potential patients who are there to seek medical help is unheard of. Why would I trust this place to take care of my husband after this ? Super unorganized, unprofessional and very disappointed, definitely not going back nor recommending to friends or family. read more

The doctor here is a good chiropractor. Interacting with the receptionist sometimes makes me not want to come back. This has improved somewhat. I find it a little weird that this office also advertises "Ideal Protein" weight loss, a program with some pretty lackluster reviews. read more

Dr. Pourshadi is an exceptionally skilled and compassionate chiropractor. When I woke up one Saturday morning unable to move my neck and upper body, Dr. Pourshadi was the only chiropractor in the greater Boston area who was available (and I called EVERY single practice). He agreed to see me during a snowstorm, no less! Dr. Pourshadi was very careful, thorough, and gave me a comprehensive explanation for possible causes and what I could do at home to avoid this situation in the future. I arrived with severe pain and had very little range of motion -- I left feeling so much better, with a home-care plan in place. I was so impressed by his kindness and professionalism. I've never been to a chiropractor before but I went in for an evaluation to see Dr. P after several weeks of popping motrin all day long for lower back & shoulder pain. After just a few short weeks of adjusting, ultra sound, lift for my shoe & stretching/strengthening exercises i feel so much better & the pain is pretty much gone. The most unprofessional service I've experienced. Chiropractor decided that I need some intense treatment twice a week for four weeks. Right. Because I stretched my neck the day before. What I didn't like from appt #1 that after giving me some useless instructions about sleeping on my back, and trying to sell some of the stuff they have there like lotions and pillows, he was about to let me go because he heard someone's entering (next patient). Since no one came, "doctor" promptly changed his mind and decided to give me some more treatment (some electric muscle relaxer therapy for 15 minutes, which actually helped a little). That little detail made me wonder, if patient (or better say-customer) did show up, I would be sent out without any hesitation and without so "much needed" therapy even that I was in pain. On top of all this, I was lectured by a receptionist when called to cancel my next appt. Is that a joke? read more

I've been going to Riverside Chiropractic for several years. Dr. Reza Pourshadi is the consummate professional. He is personable, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. I see him for lower back pain that flares up several times a year. Dr. Pourshadi always gets results and stays current on new technology and therapies that are useful. When he suggests trying a new therapy, he provides all of the information in advance and allows you to go home to research or think it over before pursuing. I like that he takes the time to explain exactly what he is doing for each maneuver during a visit. I never feel rushed or uninformed and always have the opportunity to participate in developing my treatment plan. I also particularly like that he and his staff is flexible with scheduling; which to me, is important with a chiropractor that I may need to see several times a week. Overall, 5 stars!!! read more
