It was a chance meeting at a business/craft event in Saugus, MA, that my wife Veronica, met Dr. Sidmore. She had a booth set up, as did Dr. Sidmore, and she happen to ask him about the tingling sensations I was getting in my right arm and hand. After a brief explanation about how the nerves work, they both knew I would possibly benefit from chiropractic attention. An appointment was made for the following week, and I had a very informative and enlightening evaluation by Dr. Sidmore, and agreed to start an intense 3 days a week adjustment period that lasted 2 or 3 months, which led to twice a week adjustments. I soon noticed the tingling in my arm was less and less often. After about another three to five months, my hand also had less "pins and needles" sensations, and the time in discomfort was much more limited. After about two years of steady adjustments, I got down to once a week to maintain my improvement. When time came to get the following years appointment schedule, my plan for the following twelve months was all laid out for me on paper, and I was given many options of payment for the recommended treatment. I could pay at each appointment, or pay for half a year, or pay in full for more savings, which is always my personal choice. A little over three years ago, I was seeing my PCP and GI specialist regularly, and I was on prescribed medications and vitamin supplements for chronic back pain, severe IBS, migraines, and low energy (diagnosed as mild depression). Unhappy with that regimen, I decided to give chiropractic care a try. I picked Sidmore Chiropractic due to its proximity to my home in Wakefield. It takes me less than five minutes to drive there, making it very convenient, but after my experiences, I would still choose the same office even if it was a farther distance. Dr. Sidmore is a local jewel, he is a strong figure in the community, a family oriented business owner and a more then excellent chiropractor. I started as a patient of Dr. Sidmore after a car accident that I had in 2004 and after several months of physical therapy it was recommended for me to see a chiropractor, but who would I see? Similar to today, Dr. Sidmore stood out like a beacon for recommendations and great personal references posted above and beyond his peers which prompted me to give his services a try, and it was a good decision on my part. Where do I begin! I came into Dr Sidmore's office this winter on a referral from a close church friend who is currently being treated by him. I must admit I had my doubts about chiropractic treatments, because I had heard a lot of negative talk about them in the past. But.........I was desperate!!! I was in severe sciatic pain in my right leg and excruciating stabbing pain in my left shoulder. Both conditions keeping me awake most all of the night, in spite of taking Naproxin to try and lessen the pain. Upon my first visit I was analyzed and measured for misalignment of my spine. Everything was way out of alignment...... due to years of physical abuse as a Journeyman Ironworker, and currently as a landscaper. On my second visit Dr. Sidmore administered my first alignment treatment, and explained in detail various payment options. This was followed by a treatment schedule of multiple appointment per week to begin with. Currently, I am being treated two times a week, at times of my choosing, and my condition has improved tremendously. When my wife originally started seeing Dr. Sidmore for her own Chiropractic Care, I became interested in going, as well, for some of my lingering back/neck problems. However, I had heard common misconceptions about back doctors years ago, so I wasn't sure if this was right for me. My fears were quickly set aside after I attended an informational session at his office that explained many of the benefits of seeing a Chiropractor. He patiently answered tons of questions and quickly put our class at ease with the idea of helping our spines to stay healthy. (it is the center of who we are after all) I decided to give it a try. I started going to see Dr. Sidmore when I was having constant back spasms caused by simple movement or too much raking or shoveling! My wife had been seeing him for a few months and was a fan, so I thought I'd give it a try. He not only worked on my immediate lower back problem, but confirmed an issue with my slightly different leg lengths so he's been treating that, too! I have had no issues with my back pain for the past 4 months, and feel much better all around! I started seeing him 3X per week, then down to 2X per week, and now I see him once per week. I know that different chiropractors use different techniques, and I'd previously been to one who did a lot of "electric stimulation" and what I would call "sport therapy and stretching". That approach seemed to cure the issues for me for the short term, but there was no long-term solution offered, but Dr. Sidmore's techniques have had a more lasting positive outcome for me. I have been going to Dr Sidmore for 16 years, and it has been nothing but a pleasant experience each and every time I go. I've been to many Chiropractors over the years, and Dr Sidmore is certainly one of the best. He is very compassionate and gentle. He listens to his patients, and is very VERY good at what he does. For those that don't believe in Chiropractic, let me tell you what happened to me this past September. My back suddenly locked up one Sunday morning to the point that I couldn't move. I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. After some muscle relaxants and pain killers, I felt good enough to go home, but not good enough to do much more that lie flat. The hospital wanted me to go to physical therapy, but I declined knowing that Dr Sidmore would fix me do in minutes what it would take a physical therapist to do in months. Upon meeting Dr Sidmore, I was also skeptical that receiving chiropractic care would improve my chronic back, neck and shoulder pain. I have been seeing Dr. Sidmore since early this year (2011) and have been part of his Wellness program. He initially diagnosed my alignment problems and his approach has been extremely helpful in correcting these. This past Tue. I moved in a certain way that caused a SHARP pull to occur in my lower back, accompanied by severe pain. When I first went to Dr. Sidmore I had several back problems, the most annoying of which was pain and tightness in my mid-back after sitting for even a moderate length of time (45 minutes). Long car trips and sitting through movies were a challenge, to say the least. I was either in a lot of discomfort or getting up several times. Since going to Dr. Sidmore this situation has improved radically, along with my other back complaints. I am now able to enjoy a show without getting up multiple times. The true test came with a long plane trip which consisted of two 6-hour consecutive flights. No pain! When I first came to Dr Sidmore I had pain in my hip and lower back. I had had previous chiropractic treatment and had seen an orthopedist without lasting results. I had come to wonder if I needed an MRI thinking that this could be a more serious issue as the pain was becoming virtually constant.I also had to sleep on my opposite side as it hurt to lie on my sore hip. Dr Sidmore determined that one of my legs was a bit shorter than the other. He made custom foot levelers for me and began my treatments. It worked beautifully! It made so much sense. Tried Physical Therapy for 4 months with temporary relief but lower back pain returned several months later. Have been seeing Dr. Sidmore for past 3 months on lower back pain and stiff neck . Never went to a chiropractor until I met Dr. Sidmore at a local town day. On a whim I let him check my spine (it was free) I always knew one shoulder dropped more that the other, and that there always was a lot of discomfort in that area and my lower back.
