She has since moved her practice to Jamaica Plain on Green Street and I will trek out to JP just to see her. I originally went to Dr. Lauren for neck and achilles pain. Within weeks, I was running again. She even checks in via text message to see how I am feeling after appointments. She is like a great mechanic that helps me keep my body in tip top shape.

I've had years of chronic neck and back pain. My friend, who directs the Boston Celtics Dancers, recommended Dr Lauren to me and I'm so glad she did! Dr Lauren is an excellent chiropractor. She spends a significant amount of time doing soft tissue work, which makes a huge impact on your overall success with treatment. Of course, she does traditional adjustments as well but because she looks at the total picture, her treatments are remarkably effective. One thing that really stands out to me is her ability to assess your condition and offer treatment that gets results quickly. I had suffered from tendinitis in my left elbow for almost 2 years. I had three treatments, where Dr. Lauren used the Graston technique and my condition improved dramatically. I highly recommend her.

It took over a month (or two) just to get an initial evaluation on the books, which is a significant wait compared to other local options. I followed instructions and arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, yet I wasn't seen until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. During the evaluation, the therapist didn't feel comfortable proceeding without a specific doctor's release. Even though I already had a referral from my PCP, I respected her professional judgment and went through the effort of obtaining the additional clearance. The real issue started after I secured the release. I called the office to finally get started with my treatment and was told the therapist would call me back to schedule. That was over two weeks ago, and I haven't heard a word since. To be clear, this review isn't about the quality of the physical therapy itself - since I never actually got to receive any - it's about being ghosted by a healthcare provider after jumping through every hoop they requested. If you're looking for a reliable schedule and professional communication, I'd suggest looking at the many other PT options in the area instead.

I went through a difficult experience signing forms before I even got to the office to see him. I know that's a requirement of many health clinics, but his is clearly a 'new' business (open less than a year) and it shows in many ways. When I got there he then told me his staff let him know that my healthcare provider wasn't accepted by his practice...when I called my Tufts Managed Care provider they said he was. He mentioned something about Medicare only pays him $29/visit. He would much rather people just pay him in cash. I don't even know if that's legal for him to refuse me service for that reason. I provided him with screenshots from the Tufts website proving that he was in fact on my plan and he still balked - then said he would have to check with his staff again to make sure. How insulting and unprofessional. He never even had the courtesy to get back to me. Anyway, though he's a little full of himself, he seems to know what he's doing. The office is clean and pleasant with a room for exercises and one with the chiropractic table for sessions. I had a friend who saw him and was pretty pleased. But he was able to pay upfront. Just a consumer warning....

Of course, any dog Mom would do it but it still hurt! A week ago I stood up from a chair and something just happened... if it has happened to you, you know that moment when you become stuck in one position, and looking in a mirror would be like seeing a letter "c". Great for letters, bad for your spine. 24 hours later I was stuck lying on the floor after crawling from the bathroom back to my bed, the problem was that I couldn't stand up to get back into bed. The following day - when I was moving around a little bit, but still with a lot of pain - I called and made an appt with Dr. Lauren. She is incredibly kind, spent an hour with me on the first appoiintment and made some nice adjustments which helped towards getting me back on track. She also reminded me that looking down at our phones is awful, I am always so concerned about my lower back that I forget about the shoulders and my phone. I saw her a few days later (and I felt like a totally different person than the one she saw days earlier), and have two follow-ups coming up. I said I would like to be "proactive, not reactive" and know that seeing her every 3 weeks or so will go a long way in the future. Check your insurance details, many include chirporactors (mine is 20 visits per year). I was also sent home with a nice folder of info as well as her recommendations for future care (on my own as well as with her). Office is on the first floor of a house right on Beacon St in Newton Center, there are meters as well as 2hr free parking right on the street (free parking starts at their house and heads down towards Newton Four Corners). They also have a ramp if you need one (starting at the back) and I believe there is parking back there as well. Ask the nice ladies at the desk for any info you need, I spoke with Patty when I made my appointment and she checked me in/out for both appointments.
