While there are a few people with bad backs in my family, I take 100% of the blame for mine: bad posture in any chair, weird sleeping positions, laptop on dining room table with the wrong chair, etc etc. Add in a couple of years when the the Beloved Goldendoodle had arthritis and cancer, and lifting him in/out of the car was painful. Of course, any dog Mom would do it but it still hurt!
A week ago I stood up from a chair and something just happened... if it has happened to you, you know that moment when you become stuck in one position, and looking in a mirror would be like seeing a letter "c". Great for letters, bad for your spine.
24 hours later I was stuck lying on the floor after crawling from the bathroom back to my bed, the problem was that I couldn't stand up to get back into bed. The following day - when I was moving around a little bit, but still with a lot of pain - I called and made an appt with Dr. Lauren. She is incredibly kind, spent an hour with me on the first appoiintment and made some nice adjustments which helped towards getting me back on track. She also reminded me that looking down at our phones is awful, I am always so concerned about my lower back that I forget about the shoulders and my phone.
I saw her a few days later (and I felt like a totally different person than the one she saw days earlier), and have two follow-ups coming up. I said I would like to be "proactive, not reactive" and know that seeing her every 3 weeks or so will go a long way in the future. Check your insurance details, many include chirporactors (mine is 20 visits per year). I was also sent home with a nice folder of info as well as her recommendations for future care (on my own as well as with her).
Office is on the first floor of a house right on Beacon St in Newton Center, there are meters as well as 2hr free parking right on the street (free parking starts at their house and heads down towards Newton Four Corners). They also have a ramp if you need one (starting at the back) and I believe there is parking back there as well. Ask the nice ladies at the desk for any info you need, I spoke with Patty when I made my appointment and she checked me in/out for both appointments. read more
