This is the brasserie that is upstairs in the Riverside centre. It has a strapline on it's menu which is something along the lines of 'bringing the outside in.' I think that is because they have tried to make it feel like an alfresco dining experience, even though its indoors. There are picnic umbrellas up, and some plants. I went there the other day on my lunch break. The waitress who sat me was very pleasant and called me sweetheart, which I quite liked, but sadly the rest of my experience was a little disappointing. I did go over lunch, obviously their busiest period, but it took them half an hour to bring my welsh rarebit. That meant that I didn't have any time to do anything else that I was planning to do on my lunch hour. Also, my rarebit was so mustardy, that when I breathed out of my nose when eating, the mustard fumes burned the inside of my nose. Now I like mustard, but that was a bit much even for me. Happily I had ordered a blueberry milkshake which was pleasingly thick, and I had been restrained enough not to drink it all whilst waiting for my food, so I quenched the fires with that. I think it would be a pleasant enough place to go if you haven't got any time constraints, but the long wait for my food did put me on edge, and probably means I won't go back, at least on a work day. read more
