The apartments are acceptable, in a quite neighborhood. The maintenance staff is courteous, helpful and responsive. The grounds are well kept and the walkways/lots are plowed right away when it snows. Close by to the Waugh Chapel Towne Center and right across the street from a nature preserve.
he carpet is cheep/thin and wears out quickly and when we were there, the management was bordering on incompetent. On multiple occasions we received lease renewal notices on our door that weren't even ours, and the couple times that they were, the names or rent rate were incorrect. When renewing our lease, we had to get errors corrected, and months later were contacted because the office couldn't find their copy of the lease.
After moving out, the management was nothing but difficult. They charged us for damages/repairs like replacing the carpet (which during the 3 years we were there, appeared to happen every time someone moved out). The way the office attempted to collect: send a letter to the address of the apartment we just moved out of. They had our email addresses and phone numbers on file, but instead they sent a letter that had a possibility of never finding us. After being forwarded by the USPS to our new address cross country, we had about 10 days left to pay for the repairs.
We called to ask exactly what all the damages were and if we would be able to pay in 2 payments via their rent payment site. We were told 'No, you don't have access to that anymore', even though we had logged in prior to calling. We told them that we still had access and made our first payment through the site, but when we went to make the second payment a couple of weeks later, they had removed our access. We called to ask if we could pay the remainder of our payment over the phone since they decided to remove our access and they replied with 'No, you need to send a notarized bank check.'
Fast forward a month, we didn't send out the last payment to them because honestly, it got overlooked during the holidays... which we know is completely our fault. Instead of trying to contact us to see if we had sent the final payment, the management sent us to collections. They didn't even give us the courtesy of letting us know that they were planning on filing. Needless to say, we payed the collections agency the day we received the letter... online. 3 stars simply because everything else kind of counters the management. Our overall review would be higher if the management in the front office wasn't so bad. read more
