I really enjoyed living here. If it weren't for the fact that I am a defense contractor and will be moving at the end of the fiscal year (same time my lease was up, nature of the business) I would be happy to renew my lease. On top of the fact the amenities in the community are amazing, the staff really is the shining star of this place. Calling the office staff attentive and helpful would be an understatement and the maintenance staff is always timely and efficient. I only wish my new area had a Dolben/Verde property. read more

My brother has been a resident at Verde at Howard Square West for the past few months and since then it has been one major issue after the other. Upon moving in the apartment was extremely filthy and smelly, you could tell it was not properly maintained or cleaned before they setup the move in for him. Within weeks of moving in both the refrigerator and microwave in his unit stopped working randomly. After he submitted numerous maintenance requests, it still took them ONE whole month before they finally repaired it. He also complained and submitted a maintenance request over two weeks ago for someone to replace his air filter in his unit and till this day the air filter has not been replaced. I recently came to visit and I can confidently say that the living conditions at Verde are unbearable and unpleasant. The overall quality of the building is horrible. The floor tiles in his bathrooms are misaligned and have spaces in between them that can cause an injury if you step on it barefoot, the hallways have a foul odor and if you still happen to come for a visit you will be met with numerous "F U" signs that people have carved into the wall. To top it off "Nia" in the leasing office is rude and she should not be in a position of customer service. She clearly does not care about the concerns of the residents. read more

This apartment is gorgeous, but honestly, the people who designed it must have been high, drunk or both. There is only one freight elevator in the old building so moving in is hellllll you have to make sure you have movers who don't complain and a couple of dollies( we ended up having to pay the movers an extra $100 each because we got an apartment on the the opposite side of the building)...The hall ways are poorly marked it took me 20 mins trying to find the elevator that leads to the front office. I am looking forward to moving out. read more

I have honestly never been so impressed with the people who have worked for this apartment complex. There's been many people who are nice and very efficient. However. I have never felt compelled to make a review, but there was a gentleman I spoke to today named Ronald in the front office. He was just above and beyond. I rarely feel the need to compliment someone like this unless I feel very strongly, but he was just the most help I've ever gotten for any issues I've ever had. I feel strongly about praising employees who make the business a better place purely on customer service. I want him to be recognized. THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE STAFF ONLY: I have immensely enjoyed seeing and interacting with the staff at Verde West. Chris is amazing. Thoughtful, responsive, caring about the needs of tenants. I always forget the young lady's name in the office who is so sweet and always ready with a smile and a way to help. The maintenance staff is exceptional. Always friendly and always accomplishes what they set out to do in an efficient and timely way. Service is almost always immediate. Brandon is a gem. Quick to jump in to help you with whatever you need from package retrieval to printing out rental ledgers and sending them to you immediately. He's been kind from Day One when he gave me unit choices and took my application. I'm leaving Verde after one year to hopefully buy a home, but I will definitely miss the kind and caring staff. read more

Truly disappointed! The front office staff here is wonderful (Ronald and Chris), and the apartments on the inside are beautiful, however, there if I had to do all over, I honestly would not have moved here a couple of months ago. I'm in the new building (Verde East), and although newly constructed, I feel as though this place will end up being an absolute mess very quickly. Each time I put in a maintenance request, I have to call the office to remind them it has been a few days since I placed the request, which should be unacceptable. Neighbors are also allowing their dogs to defecate in the garage, and people drive carelessly when coming in and out of the garage. Let's get into the trash!! The hallway smells terrible because neighbors refuse to use the actual trash chutes, and instead drop food and used containers all over the place. I've spoken to management, and even swept and mopped the trash room myself, but still absolutely nothing is being done. Below is a pic of the same trash that's been in this room for a week now! There is actual chicken on the floor (regular occurrence). There is no staff to clean the trash rooms or to check these rooms on a daily basis, although that is what I was told would happen. I mopped in the trash room almost a month ago and no one has swept or mopped since then. If other people want to live with rodents, that's fine, but I'm not at all interested. For the price I pay here, I could have rented a private home in this same neighborhood. People need to do better! read more

As wonderful as the staff and location may be, I cannot recommend the Verde to anyone with working ears. I can hear EVERYTHING. Footsteps, doors, appliances, TV's, conversations, outside traffic. I can even hear my neighbors lightswitches! Work has me move a lot and most new appartments are pretty quiet these days. This place was made out of paper. I got in early and it became very apparent as the place filled up. Find anywhere else. read more

Very loud and poorly designed apartments. My apartment is on route one and it is extremely noise. You can hear all of the road noise. Good luck sleeping through trucks hitting bumps or speeders zooming down the boulevard. Staff solution is to buy a white noise machine...no help AT ALL. why should I pay $1500+ in rent to not be able to sleep.? The windows are very drafty so the LEED certification is pointless. My ac and heating bills are extremely high because of this. Whatever temperature it is outside will be the temp inside your apartment. Also, the walls are very thin. I can here my neighbors dogs yelping at all hours Of the night and EVERY step someone takes upstairs. These apartments are not worth the money. CANNOT WAIT TO MOVE! read more

This review is based on my experience with the leasing office yesterday. Upon arriving the agent immediately let me know there weren't any availabilities for the floor plan I was interested in. That's it. No suggestion to tour an alternate model or providing info on what was currently available or even taking down my information. His body language and verbal responses certainly let me know he wasn't interested in our business so we left. I recently moved out after living in this apartment complex for 5 years. Everything was amazing when I first moved in and even the first 2 years that I lived here. If there was a maintenance issue I'd put in a work request and someone from maintenance would come right away a fix the issue. Where it all goes downhill is May 2019, there was a leak in my apartment which caused water to leak from the walls and ceiling I contacted maintenance, they came right away but did not fix the problem. The problem lasted for over 3 months and ended when there was mold found in my apartment. Once that was resolved, the next issue popped up, horrid upstairs neighbors that caused me property damage, smoking in a non-smoking community, and were just obnoxiously loud the leasing office did virtually nothing about it. The complex itself is always dirty, dog poop everywhere, even in the carpeted hallways, the hallways also always smell like trash. The parking garage is so unsafe, I was involved in a hit and run in the parking garage because 1. People drive so fast and dangerous and 2. The gate is ALWAYS left open so the person who hit me was able to get into the resident parking. So glad to be out of there! read more

The staff at Verde is what makes living here so nice! They are incredibly helpful, genuine, and thoughtful! After living here less than a week they already remembered me by name! The maintenance team is very responsive and quick to resolve any issues that come up. They have typically taken care of any requests within one day! The apartment complex is generally very clean and well kept. We've been pleasantly surprised at how quiet our apartment is and that we don't hear much going on outside the walls. If you're looking for a place that has a great, attentive staff along with some nice amenities and is conveniently located near 95, 100, etc... look no further! We love it here so far! read more

He definitely looks out for the community and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. The people are a mixture of old, young, and anti-social. We love living here! The location is wonderful, and the manager Cindy and her staff are both friendly and super helpful! I also want to especially acknowledge Tony our amazing maintenance man, for his prompt efficient response to all maintenance requests. My fiancé and I recently had an issue with our lighting over the dining table. We called the front office and Tony was up to fix it 20 minutes later! Just moved out but because we bought a house but we lived here for almost two years and loved it. The manager Cindy and her staff are both friendly and helpful as many other reviews have mentioned. If there is ever a problem with something in the apartment Tony the maintenance man or other maintenance staff was always there to fix it. This apartment complex is right around the corner from 95 and really closer to any major retail store that you need. STAFF The office and maintenance staff are, in general, very helpful and friendly. They usually greet you by name and are very conversational. My children and I have enjoyed going down to the office and making chit-chat when we pick up our packages or need assistance. On the other side, when there are issues (which inevitably arise with any rental property), some can be extremely defensive. A couple individuals I have known in the complex have actually had shouting arguments with members of the staff which I find incredibly unprofessional. SAFETY On the outside of these apartments, it is VERY safe. We're talking key fobs to get in at every entrance - the outside gates and then the outside doors and then sometimes inside doors and then your own door has two locks inside! It's a vault. Safety from within, however, is another story which leads me to my next topic. CONSTRUCTION Though the high ceilings and very large rooms are a wonderful perk to this place, we learned right from the start that everything is made with very poor quality and lack of attention to detail. The day we moved in, our toilet paper dispenser fell off the wall and behind it, we could see that there were many holes from where someone tried to install it. That was our first clue about the sheetrock here. It will NOT hold things. Unless something is screwed straight into the stud, it will fall down. This was the only way we could keep our curtain rods up! Everything else we have hung on the walls has fallen down at some point in our stay. Then, about a month ago, I opened one of my cabinet doors and the entire cabinet came out of the wall! Fortunately, there were only paper plates and cups inside. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have caught it in time and whatever was inside would have fallen in my face. I shudder to think if one of my children had opened the cabinet instead of me. Once the cabinet came out, I looked at the place it was held in. No anchors! A 30 lb. cabinet designed to hold even heavier things was being held up by two small screws that were not in a stud or anything. The maintenance crew fixed it quickly and well, but it is pretty alarming that it happened in the first place. QUALITY This is where all my low ratings come from. That poor maintenance guy is all over the place fixing things night and day because this brand new place is falling apart! As stated above, the sheetrock is junk, but in just a few short months stay, we have also had issues with our plumbing, the carpet, (Apparently it was too much hassle for the builders to pick up loose nails and things before laying in the flooring? We can feel all kinds of weird things under the carpet), the door panels (One wide swing of the door from my three-year-old son and the door stopper went straight through it), and the other hardware is just low quality. Be careful with the walls too! They're all painted in a flat light tone so EVERYTHING scratches and scuffs it. Just moving your stuff into the apartment will leave them looking icky. LOCATION Great and annoying at the same time. It is located on the 1 and you can get to food, shopping, entertainment, you name it within a 5-10 minute car drive. There is not, however, anything within walking distance except a Mom's Market and the Goodwill and it's kitty-corner on a very busy and poorly designed street. We basically had to run across when there was a break in traffic! The complex is also across from a police and fire station. Great for rental insurance, terrible for sound! I can't count the number of times my kids have been woken up from naps because of sirens and just general car and motorcycle traffic. One long side of the complex also faces the east, so if you are on that side, either get a good thick set of curtains or be prepared to have a nice sunny awakening every day by 6 am. It makes those rooms pretty warm in the summer as well. ENERGY-EFFICIENCY We haven't lived in the northeast before so we have no experience with what energy costs are usually like, but our bill has been no lower than anywhere else we've lived. We have paid around twice what we usually have in other any other place. I can't imagine what the bill would be if this place didn't run energy efficient. AMENITIES The pool is great. It's tiny and nobody ever uses it so we basically get free reign. The only bugger is that it doesn't open until noon and by then you only have a few hours before that whole area is covered in shadow from the surrounding buildings. Still, it's decently kept up and the lifeguards are usually friendly and even helpful, playing with the kids on top of doing their regular duties. The gym is excellent. The managers at Verde at Howard Square were very accommodating after my family and I had issues with the first apartment we moved into. The apartment was located next to a heavily traveled road, and we could hear the traffic all hours of the day. It was relentless. All we wanted was piece and quiet and we never got it. But once we let the mangers know of our dissatisfaction they quickly met with us to resolve the situation. read more
