The location is the best part of this restaurant. The waitperson seemed overwhelmed with 3 tables. Menu has a note that there is a 2 drink maximum and only with food. A poor vintage of white wine is $7.75 a glass. The salmon burger was ok at best and tiny for $10. Got the salmon but had to chase down the soup as it was forgotten. Wished I had let it go because the soup was so salty it could not be eaten. When asked how it was I made my complaint to no avail. Uneaten but paid for. Don't waste your money here. read more

Great view, but don't expect much else. There aren't any other options (beside the convenience store) for food in La Push - so I would imagine the owners don't feel much of a need for improvement. They've got a captive audience. I ordered fish and chips. Being from Seattle, my expectations might be high, but, come on! You're ON the water. Do you really have to use frozen fish? The pieces were tiny and so over-battered that it was gooey toward the middle. The fish was mushy. The "vegetable side"? It was literally a tablespoon of some type of stringed veggies completely sauteed to death in some sort of sauce. It looked like a mistake. Thank goodness for the salad bar. At least I filled up on lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and croutons. The next night we decided to go in to Forks for a better selection. We chose "the In Place." I so wanted to love this restaurant....the staff was nice and the location is stellar. The bottom line for me, however, is go for the view and don't expect a lot from the food. During dinner we were thrilled to watch dozens of water birds, eagles, and sea lions. The food was less than stellar. We ordered clam strips for appetizers; good...all ten of them. Salmon dip was really good. My son ordered kids spaghetti and couldn't eat it. Hubby ordered fish & chips and said they were okay. My daughter ordered lasagna and it looked and tasted like a Lean Cuisine. I ordered a very pricey seafood Alfredo that was horrific. The dish was almost chowder-like it was swimming in so much Alfredo. There were sauteed carrots, onions, and green pepper?? There were literally about 15 noodles and tons of great scallops that I sat and dug out so I could salvage something. Great people, great location, only place in La Push. Stopped here for lunch while taking a trip along the coast. It had a beautiful view of the water and wildlife and extremely nice staff. It was kind of a strange place. The view was unique & interesting. Our window was hazy & not easy to see through. I asked our waitress if she could have some scallops added to the shrimp alfredo fettuccine & she said they won't do it (scallops were on the menu). I told her I'd pay extra & she reluctantly went to ask. 10 minutes later she returned & said they would, if I paid more....which was fine. The menu said dinners come with a potato & salad, but it didn't. The meal was a tad small, but very good. My wife had a bowl of clam chowder & it was outstanding. They don't serve beer. After our plates were taken, we waited at least 10 minutes & finally, when our waitress came nearby, i asked for our check. First off the hostess made a big deal about "setting up" our table when we wanted s booth by the window. Then when we sat down I didn't even have silverware and my glass was dirty. The waitress took her sweet rude time getting over to us to order. Finally, I ordered the "grilled" salmon and veggies and my mother (mothers day dinner btw) had "grilled" chicken. We waited 20 minutes for our food and we were so thankful Bc we were starving! My "grilled salmon" looked like it had been steamed bc of all the water pouring out and the veggies had so much butter I had to use 3 napkins to soak up the excess. Horrible! My moms chicken looked not grilled but pan fried, and also tasteless. There were no marks on our protein. I asked the waitress if it were possible to have the veggies steamed bc of all the butter and she said abruptly, No... They only sauté. Whatever. As our water glasses were empty, unfinished plates piled up we finally got our bill. I told the waitress that the chicken and salmon were not grilled and she argued, "we have a grill, that's what they grill on" muttered more back talk and walked away. I think, lastly, you as a server, should know the difference between griddled and grilled food. Also not to be so rude. This place sucks. Arrival and out. Don't do it. I wanted to like the place. We were greeted by a sign reading. "We can refuse to serve anyone" and another that read "Be nice to our staff". Maybe tourists are that nasty. But I'm not. It felt like a threat. The atmosphere was very old so it's hard to make that look clean. The windows onto the "view" were very dirty. Those can and should be clean. The salmon was pretty good. But a little undercooked. The vegatables were mushy and from a bag (frozen). The potatoe was very over done. I did not get sick, so it could have been worse. The waitress was shocked that I liked the salmon. Why? Was I supposed to hate it? I grew up in a small town. I'm familiar with the environment. So it was not culture shock. I had the bagel with smoked salmon. It was the best thing that I ate while staying in the area (based in Forks, WA), and we wished that we had come here for more meals! It was a very satisfying breakfast. On top of that, sitting and watching the boats go by alongside a bald eagle, seal, otter, and several other bird species, it really set the tone for our enjoyment of the area for the rest of the day. Dinner on July 26, 2015 Great: the view of the sea stacks through the floor to ceiling windows. Mediocre: food. Terrible: service. We chose River's Edge based on our innkeeper's recommendation. It was quite disappointing, especially the really slow service. I'm sensitive to those whose depend heavily on tips to make a living but this was one occasion when I was tempted to leave zero tip. I didn't, but it crossed my mind. The women's restroom was out of toilet paper. My wife notified an employee and the only response was "Ok". Not sure if/when it was ever corrected. We are unlikely to ever be in the area again, but we would not return to River's Edge under any conditions. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant on 4/28/18. I ordered the Reuben and my wife ordered the Turkey Club sandwich. My sandwich was alright but definitely not worth the price. The sandwich my wife had was very dry and the bacon looked like it was cooked days ago. The server seemed to be wondering around not doing anything after we asked her for a few things and our check. We had a long walk on Rialto Beach in the rain this morning. Got to the restaurant around 1pm. I am so glad we decided on going here! We got the bay shrimp dip as a starter, it was delicious! My girls had potato cheese soup and loved it (very picky eaters). Hubby tried the clam chowder, of which I had a bite, it was yummy but needed a little salt. I ordered the salmon fettuccine, and again, I'm so glad I did. The salmon was cut into chunks and sauteed prior to being added with some zuchini, onion and bell pepper, it was some of the freshest salmon I've ever eaten in a restaurant, and had beautiful bright red-orange color. The dish again needed some salt, but was so delicious! We definitely plan to come here again. read more

Wow, anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars is crazy. I'm not local but found this place after staying at cabins near by. Food is so good! Fish and chips are meaty, light, and flaky. One the few places to eat in La Push. I had the surf and turf which was good. Prices are very reasonable here. This place reminds me of a run down Sherri's except it sits on a old semi rotted boat launch. The atmosphere is so so. The server were friendly. Friendly staff, unbelievable views, solid lunch fare. We split the big ol bowl of hearty clam chowder. Got the crab and shrimp grilled cheese sandwich with a side salad and split those, too. It's really the way to go. The sandwich is SO rich that you'd be miserable if you ate it all by yourself. We enjoyed our waitress, Robyn, very much. If there's anything they could improve upon, we wish they had more and better dessert offerings. We had just come over from Forks after having stopped at Thriftway and their deli had great pies and cakes. Even if they just had those, it would be a beautiful setting to have a coffee and pie some time. read more

It had a limited menu and it was on the bay. Decent atmosphere inside with decent view of the warer. It had limited menu. We got scallops salmon and bay shrimp dip. The shrimp dip was ok nothing special with a lot of garlic. It looked like little shrimps. It didn't taste like shfikpm. High quality scallops cooked perfectly. Fish cooked well but flavor lacking. Dried up potato and brocolini was inedible. Based on limited options in area it's worth a try to stop by. Service was good and very prompt very friendly. Man, I want to like this place, but.... The location's great. The view is terrific. The food's fine, three stars most of the time. They'll overcook your omelet, but nearly everyone does--it stops those complaints that "My eggs are runny." They also overcooked my scallops, which were tasty but well-done all the way through (they're supposed to be seared on the outside, nearly raw on the inside). Six nickel-to-quarter sized scallops, by the way, with a few asparagus spears and a dollop of mashed potatoes, came to $23.95. The menu looks good; the execution lags, but it's OK. The service, though... If you don't have about an hour and a half to spare, drive in to Forks to eat. We had three meals here, with three different wait staffs, and NOBODY knew what they were doing. They didn't know the menu, confused orders, forgot items, then on one occasion the waitress simply vanished. We waited nearly 20 minutes. I finally went to the cashier and said we had to get going--and nobody knew where our waitress or our check were. She eventually appeared, without an explanation, and we escaped. With some attention to detail this place could be so good, but it just isn't. read more

Not many options in La Push, but we enjoyed ourselves! The place wasn't spotless by any means, but we started with clam chowder which was good. Salads were fresh and tasty. Crab and shrimp sandwich was buttery but good. Sautéed chicken with pesto sauce was also nice, maybe slightly oily. Shrimp basket was typical bar food... Not bad at all. Dessert was a highlight! We asked for the blackberry pie a la mode and were alerted that there was no vanilla ice cream, only huckleberry. Well what a sarcastic shaaaame! It was amazing!! The pie was standard. The real treat was the "king size" Indian fry bread with butter, honey, ice cream and whipped cream. Very good! Service was nice. The restaurant in La Push. Great local fish, great local service, great locals. We go to this place each visit to the area, whether staying in the Ocean Crest cabins or at the Mora campground. Fantastic view off the pier to the mouth of the Quileute River, James Island & Little James Island; frequent sightings of eagles, pelicans & other birds, with the occasional otter or seal in between the small local fishing boats coming & going. Dinner always has an excellent freshly caught fish entree; lunch includes a broiled salmon topped salad. Go for breakfast and try the fish hash! read more

Came here for a quick bite, did not look at anything other than the appetizers. Like others have said, the view is great, food not so much. We ordered the clam chowder and it came out immediately. We were here in early October, so had no problem getting prompt service. I had the clam chowder, which was excellent - thick and full of clams. My husband had the BLT which came with asiago flecked fries. The BLT was perfectly done with lots of smoked bacon and the fries were crispy and delicious. The restaurant is located right on the water, with views to die for. Frankly, we had a great dining experience, leaving me to wonder what the bad reviews are all about. Maybe people just trying to show that they're restaurant critics?? We're from Portland and eat out often. If we lived here, we'd come weekly. read more

We just left because of Dana or whatever her name is. My husband walked in and she asked him how many, my husband said 2. She said it's seat yourself. Go ahead and find a seat. We found one close to the window. After 5 minutes, a party at a table by the window stood up. Nobody has come up to us to acknowledge us at this time. So we decided to move to the window table. This asshole Dana or whatever, says, you can't move. I already gave this table to somebody else. Mind you the table is still FULL of dirty dishes because the people JUST LEFT. So, first, I asked her and she confirmed it's seat-yourself so I asked her again, if it's seat-yourself how can you give this table to the party behind us? She angrily said because you guys were already there. I explained to her that the people he just left and she didn't care. She continued her tantrum so my husband and I didn't want to get shitty service all night and have our food spat at by this angry woman. Pros: Food is good, fish seems fresh, and reasonable prices. Salmon burger was the best choice at our table. Cons: Only 2 servers for the whole restaurant. Expect a long wait to be seated, then wait to order, then wait to get drinks. Expect the servers to apologize a lot too for being understaffed and overworked. They ran out of the dinner special (which I really wanted) and had limited drink options by the time we were able to order. Not too many dining options in this area. I'd only recommend going if you have great weather and understand you're likely going to have to wait and experience subpar service, but they're probably doing the best they can! read more
