Highly recommend. We stayed in the cowboy cabin it was such a cute cabin with the most beautiful Mountain View. Highly recommend for a get away with your sweetheart & your dogs! We rode horses on the ranch, Francisca was the sweetest guide & really made the experience. Our dogs loved walking along the property watching the long horns, cows, & sheep. The sunrise was absolutely stunning from the rocking chairs on the porch. Cute cowboy aesthetic! Everything was clean & tidy. The extra paper towels, soaps, and trash bags came in handy. Such a sweet extra amenity. Celena & Susan were so kind and responsive. We met afew of the other staff along the property and they were all so sweet and courteous as well. So after running late for a horseback riding trail in Shenandoah they steered us in the direction of this ranch. They were so accommodating to book a same day appointment for me and my date. We arrived like 30 minutes early so we got to sign the forms and walk around the ranch. The property is beautiful I wish we could have stayed in one of the cabins. My horse outlaw was the sweetest. This wasn't my first time riding but even if it was anyone could ride him. I enjoyed the trail ride throughly I wanted it to last another hour it was so peaceful! WOW. River's Bend Ranch provided me and boyfriend an experience we unanimously considered to be few and far between. The scenic site was home to the meditative retreat we didn't know we needed. After looking to schedule a horseback trail ride through Groupon, we decided it best to stay overnight in the area. Caroline, I believe her name, at front desk reception scheduled us last minute for a two night stay in the Wild West Cabin on the property. The cabin was spotless upon arrival. The horseback ride was tranquil and we enjoyed seeing the animals (pig, goat, horses) who were all very friendly. The foal was also quite sassy and friendly with much personality. River's Bend Ranch is located about 20 minutes from Massanutten and about 35 minutes from James Madison University. We went here for my daughter's birthday. She loves horseback riding and we were greeted with a friendly smile. The staff was courteous and very good with young children. My niece was a little nervous at first but they give you time to get to know the horses and get comfortable. The trail was ideal for young kids but if you want to go fast you would have to get a private lesson. We went at a slow and steady pace. Saw a bunch of the deer along the way and had a great time. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great bonding moment with your kids. read more

We are on a family vacation and looking for outdoor activities to do, being in Virginia horse riding came in mind. River's Bend Ranch gave a great experience to our group! We had 4 children and 3 adults. The 2 guilds worked well with the kids who where a little nervous at first. The trail ride was nice it was about an hour long, it took you down by the Shenandoah River, though the woods and up and down the path. So it's not just one level a nice ride. I would recommend it for beginners, experience riders they also offer private rides. In all it was a great morning and I would do it again. read more

My husband surprised me with date here to go horseback riding and it was such a delight! My husband and I were the only ones on the tour and the guide made great conversation. I visited the Ranch for a yoga retreat and had a wonderful experience! The entire group stayed in the Lodge House which had plenty of rooms and most rooms had connecting bathrooms, which was great privacy. The house was very clean and our group enjoyed both the top and bottom porches for lounging around and watching the sunrise and set! I also went on a horseback trail ride which was conducted by 2 great staff members at the Ranch that did a fantastic job of managing the horses on the trail even when a few got unruly :) For the cost of $35 for the horse back riding experience was great and I would recommend it, especially in the Fall. I should also note here that our house and a fabulous hot tub outside that was spectacular for relaxing and taking the night sky in. I look forward to coming back to the Ranch as it offers the perfect remote getaway from the city! read more

We stayed in one of the cabins for a few nights and WOW - what a relaxing and beautiful place! The cabin was comfortable, spotless, and chock-full of amenities (full kitchen, massive jacuzzi, and a porch with a view of the sunrise and the ranch's rolling hills). We made full use of the propane grill, as well as the firepit behind the cabin each night (which came fully stocked with weeks' worth of firewood), took a relaxing trail ride on horses with Cassie, and, most importantly soaked in the peace and quiet the entire time. A big thanks to the staff for being so welcoming and accommodating, and we are looking forward to coming back. read more

What a great place!!! The staff was very friendly. The cabin was so clean, updated, and roomy. This was a last minute check in, after hours, and the staff was happy to accommodate us. The view is beautiful. This ranch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourself. We also did a trail ride, the girls that took us out were friendly & professional. This a great place to connect with nature in a modern cabin with all the necessities, even a Jacuzzi tub. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. We were on vacation in VA and found a trail ride on Groupon. We had never been on horses at all and honestly it was a scary idea to me!!! The staff is all very friendly and comfortable with the horses and we were given a wonderful guided trail ride with easy to follow lessons and rode on very well behaved horses! The horses were confident and skilled and understood the commands which eased my mind! We arrived to a body of water where our guide positioned us and dismounted her horse and took our photo. Along the trail we saw deer and other wildlife as well as some beautiful sights! Well worth the visit for the experience! read more

It didn't matter if you had never ridden a horse before because these horses definitely know their jobs. It was super easy to check in and there was only a small wait to get going. My kids had a wonderful end of our Memorial Day Trip with a one hour horse trail walk. The horses are well trained and cared for. The owner and staff were so welcoming. We called with an ETA of 1 hour to get there. We arrived within minutes of the tour and they were waiting for us. The guide was very patient and professional on the trail. I would highly recommend this tour. Scenery a definite bonus. It is a pleasure patronizing an establishment where everyone working there genuinely enjoys what they are doing. read more

Such at great experience at the ranch! We are from the Richmond area so it took us about two and a half hours to get there. We ended up getting stuck in traffic and the staff were very understanding when we called to let them know. The horses were well behaved and you could tell they were well taken care of. The trail guides were very accommodating and even got down off of their horses once during the ride to take several pictures for us. The trails were pretty and just slightly hilly which added some fun to the ride without feeling like it was dangerous. The whole ranch is absolutely beautiful and you get to ride by the Shenandoah river for a piece of the ride. Although we already had a hotel booked, they explained the several different housing options available for great prices if you want to stay at the ranch. Overall a great experience and we will be back again to visit. read more

Came here for a one night stay on a whim and I'm so glad we found this gem! We stayed in one of the one-bedroom cabins and there was plenty of room and an amazing Jacuzzi tub. Guest service was wonderful and the place was very clean. I loved being away from the noise and under the stars with the amazing mountain view. Utensils and cookware is provided and there's a grill and fire pit available. There is an outdoor hot tub in the common area, but we didn't use it because we'd have to drive down. We did a ride on the horses in the morning, the scenery was gorgeous and we rode alongside the river. I highly recommend and hope to make my way back some day to see the fall foliage. read more

Our family of 6 booked an hour trail ride in early April. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the email correspondence and booking. We had a group with varying levels of riding experience and they were very attentive to our needs. Wonderful, relaxing experience and the least expensive of trail rides in the Virginia area ($45/person/hr). Very pleased and hope to go back another time. You can also stay in their lodge or cabins for a fairly inexpensive rate. read more

There was more than enough room and we never felt as though we were on top of each other. My only complaint would be that the wifi connection inside the bunk house was very poor if it was there at all. Other than that this place was absolutely gorgeous.
