Location was easy to get to. Easy check in and directions. Dustin was nice who drove the bus and gave good directions. The water was a little low so made some sections hard to pass on in kayak and water was moving slow. 7 miles become a little bit tiring towards end. Ending trip was easy and was right where parked car for easy clean up and leaving. All equipment was in good shape also. read more

these guys were absolutely amazing. I went on a tubing adventure and lost my keys and my cell phone took a little bit of time but I ended up getting both sent to me courtesy of these awesome guys. Also, while I was there and having to get my car towed back to Alexandria Virginia, they were nice enough to let me hang out with them while they threw a baby shower party and offered me something to eat and drink. We have a really great time kayaking on the river today. The folks at Shenendoah River Adventures were super friendly and helpful. They made it easy to reserve a spot, were easy to find, they drove us to the river, and helped us get started with all of the info we would need. The river itself is really nice too. We went with a large group to go tubing. We had a blast. The river is pretty slow overall and we definitely took our time. The total duration of the float was about 2 hours. The kayaking experience is nice, but they put you on a bus where nobody is wearing masks, not even the drivers, and when I pointed out to the driver that they should be wearing and mandating masks to avoid exposing people to the risk of COVID-19 infection, he told me "well, you signed a waiver, and if you want to argue should go somewhere else". Definitely check this place out if you're looking to spend some time on the Shenandoah. Reasonable prices, flexible, and cool guys! We rented 4 kayaks for $30 a piece. After dropping off your car at the end, a bus with all the equipment takes you to the drop site. They have a variety of start times, and allow you to stay on the river until 5pm! This is much more flexible than some of the other river rental places in the Shenandoah area which restrict you to stay with a group on the river and return by a certain time, making it really impossible to fish on the river, spend some time swimming, etc. Once you're done, you simply give them a call and they come back to pick up your equipment. There are only a couple guys running around the premises and on busy days, it can be hard to get someone on the other side of the phone line. Their lot is literally an empty yard with a couple of picnic tables and outhouse along the side. They do provide canoes, kayaks, and river tubes. The kayaks were in great shape and much better than what I had expected to get for a $30 rental. All the staff are knowledgable, friendly, and relaxed. A great experience! read more

This river adventure was the perfect way to spend an afternoon near Shenandoah National Park! We took our 2.5 and almost 5 year old. They had life vests for them and helped us to tether their tubes to our own. With young kids, we just did one run down the river, but the price is for 2 runs down the river! If our kids were older we all would have enjoyed another go down the river! We had a blast and the family running the business were so friendly and helpful! Make sure to wear good shoes (like keens) so you don't stub toes in the river or lose one down the river. read more

My daughter and I wanted to go tubing- she is 12 years old. We did not want to go 3-5 hour tubing trip,but thought one or two hours would be ideal. This was the only tubing company we could find that could provide us with such a trip. They were so nice and easy-going. Provided us with their a funny driver, Frank, to pick this up at the end. Our driver even told funny jokes as we dried off on the way back. We thought at $17 a person this was the perfect price. This place is awesome. We rented two tubes and were allowed to go down twice. All of the workers were super friendly and helpful. We made reservations for 11 but you can pretty much show up whenever. They didn't run out of tubes on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. I would suggest getting there early when there are less people going down. we were able to stop and get out to fish also. You can bring your own cooler and get a cooler float or bring your own floatable cooler with drinks :) Overall it was a super chill and relaxing experience. read more

Took the kids tubing, nice if you're looking for a quick 1 hr-ish trip for a family. Staff very friendly and helpful! Price seems a smidge high given it's a short trip, if you're looking for a longer tubing trip, I would recommend another company where you'll pay a few extra dollars but get several hours out it. read more

My daughter comes to Virginia once a year from her home overseas. Each summer we plan a fly fishing trip. It's a hobby we share and care about very much. This year we made arrangements for two canoes with Shenandoah River Adventures, but when we arrived for our float trip, they had rented all of their canoes. Murphy's Law, said their guy, Frank. No canoe for you. Should have made reservations. BUT I did talk to Frank the day prior, exchanging names, making plans, and ending with a promise to be at the canoe launch the next day at 8 a.m. We were on time. They dropped the ball. We rented two canoes and went from Elkton to the Shenandoah River Dam. We checked in a little before our launch time, and were greeted by friendly staff. We signed our paperwork and off we went. For this trip you leave your car at the public boat launch across the street from the business, and when you get out of the river you hop right in the car. The staff who drove us to the launch site, and put us in, was very nice and knowledgeable about the river. The river was low, but we had great weather, and we saw a plenty of wildlife (fish, crawfish, small river clams, turtles, a black snake, heron and more). A great day on the river! read more

I called late at night and left a VM msg to make a reservation for Memorial Day weekend. I also called first thing in the morning and left a vm msg. I got a call back at 4pm the following day from Rhonda who said they were busy booking people all day long and all they had left was 3 Tandems and some single boats and use the remaining boats she had for our 10 person party. We went and purchased food and coolers, water shoes, etc. At 10 til 9pm the night we were to leave, I got a call from my friend going who said that she heard due to high waters that a lot of places were closed so she called and they indicated they didn't float today and didn't expect to float tomorrow yet I hadn't gotten a call about our reservation being cancelled. It was over a 2:15 hour minimum drive up there so I called and Rhonda and she indicated that indeed they didn't float today and didn't expect to float tomorrow. I explained this was upsetting to me that she didn't feel the need to at a minimum let her patrons know before they left early the next morning to travel all the way up there just to be turned away. She didn't have much to say and no apologies. Will not utilize them again. read more

No map. No advice on where to camp. No knowledge of how long it actually takes to get down the river. Rude and extremely poor customer service. After a horrible first day, asked to end early and was told they wouldn't take us back to our cars even though we're paying for shuttle service. Asked to speak to a manager and was blown off. Our small group went canoeing and kayaking in early Oct and it wasn't busy. The guys running our trip (the one at the base who helped us sign up, and esp our driver who drove the bus and who also picked us up) were really nice and friendly. The base is not fancy at all - a shed with tables and an outhouse. But the staff was really nice. Would recommend! Wish they had double kayaks though. read more
