The entire kayak experience was fantastic. I walked up, bought some water shoes from their store that has most of what you may forget to bring, then purchased a ticket. The team was welcoming, helpful, and hilarious (the bus entertainers aka the tour guides). My take away is when you hear the words "self guided tour" it means good luck, we hope to pick you up at the end of your seven mile journey. I made it! And now I'm sore!!! Definitely recommend it!

RUDE MIKE PASTOR 'main staff guide'

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! When we arrived for our excursion today, we were treated with incredible disrespect, rudeness, and intimidation by the main staff "guide" Mike Pastor. He was condescending and showed zero consideration and zero curtesy. I had forgotten my daughters closed toed shoes and rushed back to the condo to get them (before the time to leave on the bus) and Mike was a complete jerk about it. He was extremely condescending to my friend and her daughter in front of all other 20 customers present!! He intimidated my friend, her daughter and my daughter's, alike. He kept yelling, "if you can't swim you can't go!!" He yelled at my friend in front of everyone. He made her feel SO uncomfortable! How would he know if she had a disability, or not? Either way, HE TALKED SO TERRIBLE TO HER!! He even told her that her mask wasn't appropriate!!! THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH HER MASK!!! He was so harsh with his tone and tongue and attitude that my friend and her daughter were afraid to go on the excursion and backed out. HE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE!!! HE TREATED HER LIKE TRASH in front of her daughter and everyone else!! I will NEVER use this companies "services" again. Just because there are no refunds, this does NOT give the main staff "guide" the right to treat customers like this! WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG!! Even the other staff members seemed shocked at his behavior; I could see it on their faces! He wouldn't listen to any explanations!! I paid a lot of money for a NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE!!! I have been in a career for decades and would NEVER treat my clients this way! Mike Pastor was completely unprofessional and completely inappropriate!!! His behavior was inexcusable!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND WORSE COMPANY EVER!! ....Here is a picture of the main staff "guide" Mike Pastor....

Most of the trip was like a lazy river, but with some quick, low rapids to make it a little spicy (in a good way).

Fun experience for floating down the river! Great service, chill vibes, great staff... I'd go back!read more

Tubing Review: We had an amazing time. Was is exhausting,…read moreyes. Worth it, yes! Owen was great. He was a great driving the stick shift bus back to the outfitters. It was nice being dropped off and picked up. We did have issues with our card online, but when I called in to book, Nancy was helpful. She got us all situated and sent an email to confirm. We filled out waivers online which was a breeze. We watched a quick safety video, picked up our lifevest and were on our way. The water was the perfect temp, and it was clear. Tips: bring snacks and water. You are out there 4-5 or longer hours. Especially if the water is low, which ours was. We used a waterproof bag and had no issues. We used a tube with a cup holder which was nice. I wore my life vest out of precaution even though I can swim, plus it made it comfortable for my to use it as a neck rest. I've noticed people mention in previous reviews that the bus was dirty ect. Um, you're in the woods. If you get picked up after many other groups the bus will be dirty as everyone is wet coming out of the water no matter what activity you choose. I would not own a brand spanking new vehicle for this type of environment and job. Used is best and saves money I'm sure. Wear a hat and sunglasses, put in that sunscreen. Bring a waterproof phone case/bag. You will have no service out there so put it on airplane mode and use it as a camera.

What a good HAWT time!…read more We came on a Saturday, mid August, and had a good, relaxing time. Besides the heat trying to take me out, I had absolutely no complaints. Front Royal Outdoors had their logistics in order from start (parking) to the brief bus ride, all the way to finish (exit). Our party all opted to do the deluxe tube (approximately $41 for the entire experience) that offered more support (a place to hold your beverage of choice) and the possibility to maximize on one's lazy river experience. As an FYI, every "order" of course came with a life jacket. The river itself was calm and effortless, for the most part. I think our experience was a little over 3.5 hours. My only recommendation would be to hydrate and find a time/date where the heat is not doing what it does best.... drains ya.

Just by this alone, this place has there shi1 together and that's what's important on missions like river rafting basically unsupervised. How slow or fast the river is they cannot control but everything else looks as if it is taken care of. Good job to all!

We pre booked a group of nine prior to arrival after calling directly to have a few questions…read moreanswered. I'm unsure who we spoke with over the phone but they were pleasant. First hiccup was check-in when the parking attendant couldn't find our reservations because she confused the first and last name of our reservation. We were frustrated trying to locate our reservation confirmation with spotty cell service and calling a similarly named company to confirm we were at the right location. She was apologetic after the mistake but didn't provide much direction after our waivers were signed. We walked to the building to confirm our reservation again and had to request life jackets for the children in our group. Life jackets are provided free of cost. We waited for other groups to gather for a brief instruction which included information on an island that can be stopped at, some points of reference for the tube float and instructions for exiting/ time to return by. The gentleman instructing was kind and personable. Transportation is provided upriver. The bus left after confirming everyone had a tube with no further instruction and no staff stationed at the entry point. We had no instruction that there was a basket with rope at the side to rope tubes together. This was pointed out to us by others tubers that were present. We spent the extra $10 for a 'cooler tube' which was a regular tube with two pieces of rope tied on to form an X in the center. We had to add ropes to our cooler tube to ensure our backpack cooler stayed in the tube. The entry point was nothing more than a step sandy path directly into the river. Shoes are required and a necessity as the depth varied and there were a lot of large rocks/ fallen trees that were difficult to see underwater. Once settled we joined many others on the river as it was a hot July day. The float was enjoyable for the most part although one of the ropes that I used to attach my son's tube to mine broke (not came untied) in the river which was frustrating. We opted not to stop at any islands and there was no signage for our float other than where to exit. The exit itself had some small rapids and I felt that the current picked up close to exiting. There were staff at the exit but they offered to cut ropes and take tubes to shore not to offer any assistance to those exiting. Again the depth fluctuated and there were large submerged rocks at the exit which were difficult to see/ navigate underwater. While this was my first time tubing, I have canoed and kayaked (in another state) before and was not as pleased with this experience as I have been with prior river rental experiences.

Such a fun adventure. Definitely recommend…read more You drive through a little town and think you are there but you still have a little way to go. We drive down these windy skinny backroads and finally get to your destination. The staff helps you park and tells you to go to the office for your appointment. In the parking lot there are port a potties as well as changing rooms. Get yourself situated and head to the office for orientation. Make sure you apply a good amount of sun block. After the safety talk you get on a bus and head to the river. The bus was nice and bumpy and just the start of the adventure. When the bus parks you get your tubes and get into the river. There was a State Trooper sitting at the beginning so make sure you are following all the rules. You need to climb down a steep river bank and then get into the river. Make sure you are wearing water shoes. Plan on the adventure being a few hours long. The river wasn't too high so the water didn't move too fast. If we didn't stop it would have been about 2 hours long. Bring a lunch and hang out at the beach midway to extend your day. Get yourself a cooler tube. Bring a good size cooler. Look at the pictures. The one I brought was a little small. When we were looking for beers it was a little difficult because I had to more the food to get to them. It is tough to do when you are sitting in a tube.

We had the absolute most amazing time with Lester! He was a wonderful tour guide and also taught us…read moremuch more about caves than we expected to learn. He taught us how to safely spot or catch someone in front of us if they're falling back, he taught us the different whistle signals used, and how to use a compass! I had no idea that I didn't even know how to use a compass in the first place. Once he navigated us about halfway to our ending point, he had one of us navigate the rest of the way using the cave map and our compass, and then had us switch on the way back (there were 2 of us). We had never caved before, but he saw that we are the active type, so he not only led us horizontally through spaces, but we also got to go vertical and climb up and down spaces. I couldn't stop raving about our experience afterwards. This tops the list of most exciting things I've ever done, and most unique as well because I can't say I know anyone else who has ever done caving. On our way home, we stopped by Luray Caverns and it was really cool walking through with newfound appreciation. We were able to point out things and appreciate how it was formed in ways we never would have beforehand. The only issue is we wished we could have strayed off the beaten path and explore more nooks and crannies the public doesn't get to see! If you're questioning whether to book a tour with Wild Guyde, I would without a doubt recommend it. If you think you might get claustrophic, I had the same fear going into this, but the cave is very open and even when you're crawling you still have plenty space around you that you don't feel trapped. Plus, you don't have to do anything you don't want to or feel comfortable with! I promise you won't regret it.
