Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. I chatted with the owner who was very welcoming and explained how they just recently opened. The staff were friendly and my coffee took less than 5 minutes from the time I walked in the door. I was really pleased with the hot caramel latte I got, and I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their food! Villa Ridge desperately needed a good coffee shop, and I'm so excited to find this one! It will be the perfect addition to the community.
