Management immediately deflected responsibility, offering no investigation, accountability, or goodwill, only excuses that the course "existed before the building". I've confirmed this is a known, ongoing pattern of property damage affecting nearby professionals. To be clear: being "here first" does not grant a business the license to allow projectiles to trespass onto adjacent private property. I have extended an opportunity for a private resolution, but I am fully prepared to pursue a formal nuisance and negligence claim in court to address this persistent lack of duty of care. read more

So i have played this course many times. I have had the privilege of playing with friends, strangers, and family. I included a couple of pics with my son. This is a challenging and good course. Please don't expect all that fancy private course stuff, but to be honest it's one of the best public courses for the price. Granted a weekend outing is not fast paced, but they typically take great care of the greens and the course is fun. Staff is always pleasant and they honestly have great food too. I had one of the best hotdogs here, but their fresh breakfast sandwiches are really good. Maybe it all tastes better since i was hungry, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Great cooks, with good seevice. I don't get out enough since i had kids, but now that they are getting older, i want to play here more often. They used to have great specials now and then but i haven't checked recently. It is not your typical switchback course, so i appreciate the opportinuty to let your drive fly. I love supporting local non-corporate businesses, and this is not a whole lot different. Recommended for those of you who enjoy a little golf challenge. Go have some fun! read more

Affordable course in Orange County with tee time availability. Not the best not the worst, but definitely cool for the price. For Santa Ana it's what you would expect.. a decent course in the ghetto. Fairways are pretty hard so the ball will run. Green are actually in great shape every time I played there. I'd say the greens are the best part about this facility.. tee boxes are my biggest gripe with this place. Many of them are blind and narrow.. also a lot of the holes are pretty much the same layout. Tee off from a blind box then dog leg uphill to an elevated green. Over and over 18 times. I play here when I don't have the time to drive to Corona, where nice courses are reasonably priced.. unfortunately almost all the golf courses in Orange County are ridiculously overpriced and not even that good. Riverview and Costa Mesa country club are the only two courses I'll play in OC. The rest of them are a joke with their pricing.. read more

This is a great local golf course. It has a covered driving range and well maintained putting green for practice. Nick at the pro shop is so helpful and friendly. Always has a smile and a great person to greet new players. The course is challenging- especially for beginners but so many players are very nice and patient. The golf carts have been just fine. Never an issue. The cost is also more reasonable than many others. The restaurant is inexpensive and offers a quick bite and drinks. Toby the Course Marshall made my family feel right at home. River View is a nice range with mats out in front, a chipping area, and of course the course. It was at the end of a neighborhood street - almost like a culdesac. At first I wasn't sure where to park because it was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon and I didn't want to park near the chipping area. Now this review is mainly for the driving range, but the experience that I've had just been there has been amazing. This is a super chill location. You don't feel like you're getting judged at the golf course with the super bougie people looking at your golf clubs. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the hamburgers at the snack bar are amazing. This place is also relatively inexpensive for range balls, 100 balls for 13 bucks. They also do offer a discount if you pre-pay for them which I would highly recommend. Now, my favorite amenity that this location offers, they have a putting a team. You can work on your putting game while I'm not feeling like you're just hitting the ball in a hole. It's a mini course. Definitely a great place to go if you wanna hit some balls or work on your pen game, I'll make another review for the full range once I complete it read more

Just recently played a round for my first time. I've been playing all over Orange County and just never felt the need to come here for the price. We had a good time, but there was a twosome in front of us that kept taking multiple shots and took a while, which was a little frustrating? I get if nobody is around go for it, but when people are waiting for you it's definitely rude and when the Marshall drive by we casually mentioned something and he basically said "what can you do?" So that was kind of annoying. It's definitely dry so the fairways aren't very nice, greens are fast/slow and hard to figure out, and while it was fun to play--I probably won't need to come back for the price. read more

On the downside, the design and layout are quite unusual, which makes for a unique experience on your first visit. The course features many blind greens and fairways that wind along a riverbed, making it easy to lose balls. This riverbed functions as the world's largest sand trap or water hazard, depending on recent rainfall. One of my friends lost around 12 balls, thanksfully, I managed to lose just one. On the plus side, the pricing is great. The course length is reasonable, and it includes a driving range and a snack shop. The carts come equipped with GPS, there are times it does not register properly, but you will figure it out. The fairways are well-maintained, and the greens are in decent shape. Overall, for $35 including a cart, it's a good deal. I played on the weekend, and the round took about 4 hours and 15 minutes. read more

First time at River View Golf and they made sure I'd never go back. I broke a golf club ( which apparently is the first time in history that's ever happened) and they made me pay for it. Originally giving me one price and then changing their mind and charging me more. If this incident has never happened then how many times over have they made their money on rentals. If I was going to be financially liable then they should have made me inspect the equipment. It was unwelcoming from the beginning, even though I said several times I had never golfed or been there before. It was a completely disappointing experience and I don't plan to go back. Horrible experience. Twilight times aren't even twilight times.. no lights what so ever. So you pay for a full 18 round and palm trees to the left, right, front, back, in between.. so once you hit over the river.. you immediately lose sight of your ball.. came in with 15 golf balls.. and they are all gone because you can see Jack shit because of the palm trees.basically paid them around 30-40 bucks just to lose a bunch of balls.. Five stars for my golf instructor Jamie Estrada, who is one of the golf instructors at River View Golf. Jamie came highly recommended by a colleague who said his rates are affordable and his teaching style is very effective. After taking a few lessons with Jamie, I completely agree. Jamie's teaching style focuses on your body's biomechanical function to make your swing as effortless as possible. He taught me how to own my swing from the ground up and I have improved rapidly. Some of my seasoned friends have even complimented my stance and swing. I feel like Jamie will turn me into a golfer in no time. As for River View as a golf course and driving range... I feel like they can use some aesthetic upgrades and better lighting in their parking lot at night time. The one big positive thing is their affordable rates. Super super cheap!! I actually bought a range card for 10 buckets of golf balls, a $100 value for only $79. The only downside is that it is on a physical stamp card and if you lose it, it's like losing money. In this day and age, you would think they can get an app for it or something. Mixed feelings on whether or not I would be back after my lessons are over since it is a bit out of my way, but the pricing is really affordable. One of the best hidden gem courses around the area. It's crazy to think this course really exists in the area it's located in. I always see a piece of the course from the 22 and decided to try the green out. Sadly I went when it rained hard to where I only got to play 9 holes. Overall the green is kept well and the price to play here is great in the pockets. The price for the green included a cart. I also had a breakfast burrito at the shack for like $6 or 7ish bucks can't remember but it wasn't expensive and was made fresh. You gotta check the food spot out while there as I can say the burrito was filling after the gameplay. I'll be back next time to get the 18 out and done. read more

A great value for $28. Played as a single but paired up with another single on the 5th hole when things started to slow down. We still played in just under 4 hours on a weekday. There are some bare patches in the fairways and some tee boxes but the greens were all in great shape. The course layout is pretty forgiving with wide landing areas. Sorry to be the voice of opposition to those rating this a great course, it's not. However, the course is priced right, and for that reason, it should be considered as a viable option. The bad, the design layout. It's a lot of blind greens and fairways,running along the river bed, where losing a ball is easy, even if you're a straight hitter. You criss-cross the man made water run-off from the highlands of the mountains, foothills, and low land flood zones. Which, is also part of what makes losing the ball, and additional issue. There is also the issue of course cleanup. There are many areas where debris is not cleaned up and left on the side of the fairways, that also lends to lost balls. Add to that fenced lined walk ways, and elevated blind greens, more lost balls. The good. The price. The length of the course is decent, has a driving range, and snack shop. The carts come with GPS, and at least the one we had, was in good shape.The fairways are as well maintained, as can be expected, weather permitting, aside from leaving dead and flood debris on the sides of fairways. The greens are decent, and not in poor condition. If you love the course, no problem, I'm simply offering an honest assessment of the course, as I see it. read more

If you want the truth read my review. Riverview is my favorite place to golf locally. First off they have an 18 hole putting green that is the nicest I've ever been to. Second, they have A rated PGA instruction at affordable prices, Robert Stephens is my instructor and my wife and I absolutely love him, drives are 30 yards further and my score is down 2-3 strokes after 2 lessons. Third, they have range cards with reasonable prices and always nice people on the range. We've met many awesome people And NEVER had a negative experience on the range. Plus with hole one right next to the range there are always some nice free balls in your bucket which is a plus. Fourth Management, Mary and Eddie are top of their class, they care, they try, they make an effort to make your experience comfortable. New carts are on the way, the parking lot was just redone, new ball retriever on the range, and they constantly move the tee boxes to keep them in good shape. Fifth, during the week you get a medium bucket, a burger and a drink for $10... where else can you get that, 6 pack domestic for like $13, great Hoffy Hotdogs, I love the value and service from the snack bar. In regards to course play, elevated greens and long open fairways make this a great place to really dial in your skills. Tip, in the morning the course has a fresh dew, the greens play a bit slower, and your ball will stick and not roll with the hills. The morning really feels like a costal course. In the afternoon your ball will roll the hills (which can be strategized. Greens play faster, and fairways give you a bit more roll. Looking at reviews on here it astounds me how people complain about being told to keep pace of play and that being moved ahead has anything negative to do with the course. They have rangers on this course, they keep you on pace, nothing wrong with that especially for those of us that know what we are doing and want to finish a par 70 In reasonable time. I've heard a poor past in regards to this course... it's something I have not experienced and I've golfed here 20+times since covid occurred. If you come here, are respectful, are ready to have fun, and like to get the best golf value for your buck in OC Riverview is the place. read more

This has to be one of the worst courses I've played. First off, it's a very confusing layout. Some of the holes you don't even know where you should be hitting the ball. Fairways were in very poor condition you can tell they don't upkeep the course very well. I will say the greens were running pretty pure but pretty much everything other then that was bad. Pace of play on the back 9 was abysmal. Probably took almost 3 hours just to finish back 9. The saying is true you get what you pay for and that definitely applies to this course. read more

Okay this review will have two parts. One for the driving range and practice area. Then another for the course itself. Driving range: This is a great driving range. It's not crazy huge but it's good. At almost every stall they do have signs showing you how far certain flags are away from you. It can get very crowded. So if you prefer a quieter driving range then I wouldn't recommend this one. However if you enjoy a driving range with a good amount of people then stop by and say hi! Practice area: So right next to the driving range they have a 18 hole putting practice area. It is a small area but allows you to practice on several different inclines. It's a great way to fine tune your putts before you head out to the course. The course: This course is great! Is it perfect? No. But it's still great. Do not come here expecting a river because sometimes there is a river. However most of the time there is not. You will have several holes where you need to cross the river with your golf cart in order to reach the greeb. The greens are taken care of and are great. A lot of these holes have unique greens where you will need to hit your ball blindly and hope it landed on the right part of the green. It makes for a fun challenge! The big downfall of this course is slow play and since it's a public course you will get people who accidentally hit their ball into your fairway. Overall I love this course! I had a tee time at 11:03 am on Sat Aug 19, 2023 and we started with no delay. The service of the pro shop was very satisfactory, but we had a big problem with playing manners of the twosome following us. At the No 2 hole (par 3 hole), the guy behind us shot into us with us playing the hole. I yelled at the guy in anger. After holing out, I waited for the guy coming and spoke to him that he should not shot into us. What I was even angrier was his reply "I know" obviously it was not accidental. To make matters worse, he did the same on the next hole while we were plying in the fairway. The course should ban such players from playing there, as they can find who played in the next group following 11:03 am. Please keep the players safe while playing. read more
