I literally had my bag searched several times for having a damn umbrella, a Chromebook And it's charger (That the school literally provides) being detected by the x-ray. I felt uncomfortable with the staff checking through my bags, because I would always think they would find private stuff of mine like pads or my pills and consider my arrest for having prescribed medicine. I was bullied terribly, but that's to be expected at any school unfortunately. What made Wesleyan different is the teachers actively participated in the bullying. From slurs referring to me being gay to smirking at me while I cried in the back of their classrooms, to always being the butt of their jokes, they did it all. It was a dark time, and they actively worked to make sure I knew I wasn't cared about.
