We reached out right away, explained everything and asked if they could make an exception. They absolutely could have if they wanted to, but instead chose to charge us close to $2,000 and kept pointing us back to the contract and legal language. I even appealed directly to both the outgoing and incoming heads of the school, hoping there would be some understanding given the circumstances and how quickly we notified them. Unfortunately, there was none. The saving grace for us was my son's teachers, Mr. Rao and Mrs. Joshi. They were wonderful and we genuinely appreciated them. Beyond that, I was never particularly impressed with the administration or the overall experience. For a school that positions itself as a premier institution and has so many positive accolades, our experience was very different. To us, it felt like a pretty average/subpar school packaged and marketed as something much more. If you are considering AIA, just make sure you read every line of what you sign. Don't assume there will be any flexibility or understanding even when circumstances change within a matter of days.

Marci's team was absolutely amazing and provided such excellent care it was heartbreaking to leave due to relocation. We (along with many other families) left Oak Grove Academy in Feb 2023 for better care and…read moreeducation elsewhere. Despite talking a lot about the curriculum, Oak Grove really just provides babysitting services. They will show you the binders of curriculum and that it's posted outside the classroom door. But curriculum is only as good as how well its implemented. There was little education or development during our time there. The staff at Oak Grove is babysitting, not educating. The large classrooms look fantastic, until you realize how many kids they have in a classroom. They will tell you that they meet state requirements for teacher/student ratios, but just because you CAN have so many kids in a classroom doesn't mean that you SHOULD. Classrooms are chaotic and teachers are overwhelmed. There were a number of other issues during our time with Oak Grove, but the overall issue is that you can get better for your money. Oak Grove may seem cheaper at first, but other daycares include extracurriculars in the tuition that Oak Grove charges extra for. By the time you include the cost of extracurriculars, Oak Grove is not cheaper. Also, Oak Grove had parents provide food and supplies for holiday parties, but at our new school all holiday parties, egg hunts, etc are funded by the school. So much more convenient for the parents! We regret the time we wasted at Oak Grove and are so much happier with our new school. ------------------------- Note about the response from the school: Again, they quotes ratios. Be sure to ask how many kids total are in the class and how many of the adults in the class are true teachers versus helpers/assistants. I know that at one point there were almost 30 kids in my child's class. That is simply too many toddlers in a room. That said, considering the number of families who unenrolled their kids this year, the ratios probably have improved... but not for the right reasons. Also said in the initial review, the leadership talks a lot about the curriculum... but the curriculum is only as good as how well it's implemented. Lastly, why on earth would the owner want to contact me months after we have left other than to attempt to improve my review? If they were truly concerned, they would have worked on improving the situation before we and other families chose to leave.

The other kids in his class seemed happy and excited to be there, which said a lot. I was also thankful he got to experience introduced foods through their program. Unfortunately, my experience with the corporate side was really disappointing. After only two weeks of enrollment, corporate changed course on how my scholarship would be handled and came back asking me to cover costs that were supposed to be included. As a result, we were no longer able to continue at the school, right as my son was adjusting so well. It was frustrating to have things pulled out from under us so quickly, and it left me feeling like there's a real communication gap between corporate and the actual school directors when it comes to billing and scholarships. I'd recommend this location for the teachers and environment, but families relying on scholarship or financial assistance should ask a lot of questions upfront about how corporate handles those arrangements.

This daycare may had received some good reviews in the past years, but recently I'm questioning its…read moreleadership's management skills. Most of the teachers that I know are kids-friendly, but one teacher has to care for so many infants and/or toddlers in each classroom, more than any one person could handle. When I asked the director about the ratio of staff per number of students, she was always so vague. I feel really sorry for the teacher, and for my child as well, every time I saw one teacher has to care for 10-11 kids, and almost all of them are sick with a bad cold. That's why the regular teacher was out sick for 1-2 days every 1-2 weeks too. Oftentimes, I would see a new teacher whenever the main teacher was out sick, and none of the new teachers even bother to introduce themselves to me. Sometimes, I even wondered if they could speak English because they didn't seem to understand me whenever I asked them questions about my child for the day. I often picked my child up with a heavy heart every day because she was always dirty all over, like a homeless child who was abandoned on the street. I paid them so much money every week for my child's attendance there, but the services that my child received not worth the high costs that they charged me. Several times, I heard the assistant director reprimanded the same teacher right in the middle of the hallway, which was so unprofessional. I must admit that I really had an issue with this daycare's assistant director. You can tell right away that she wears a fake face when talking to you and she is extremely bossy to the nice teachers there. One time, she even yelled at the director about something that they were arguing about. Personally, I don't see her poor professionalism would fit with her position. I know it's hard to find a perfect daycare, but there should be many better daycares out there for your child than this one. Just keep looking and switching (if needed) until you feel the services your child receives at any daycare is at least 70% worth the money that you pay them.

As my oldest daughter has moved through the classrooms I have watched the teachers challenge her academically. I also notice that they do not neglect any child to focus on a select few. I have seen every child challenged at their current level or ability to help each of them progress. The few times I have had issues, I have approached the teachers and the directors with these issues. The owners have even reached out to me personally when I addressed a concern to a director. All of my concerns have been met with courtesy, understanding, and diligence. I felt comfortable voicing my concerns and the reception made me appreciate their caring even more. Even at a young age, with such a heavy focus on education, the kids are adored and loved here. The school offers a sense of community and appreciation for the families with activities for the families to get together - building great camaraderie for the teachers, parents and kids. Primrose also offers extra-curricular activities (a little something for every one!) to expose the children to new sports and skills. My girls absolutely love those special days! I hope this helps anyone searching for a great school for their kids. We couldn't imagine a better place to be.
