If you have a concern it will not be addressed properly or professionally especially if you are not friends with the management. There is NO PROPER LATE POLICY and they can WITHDRAW YOUR CHILD FOR ANY REASON. THE TEACHERS EVEN COMPLAINED THAT MANAGEMENT DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THEM. My child's teacher didn't even know she was withdrawn! Sandi Bryant, the director, and her superior regional director,Hope Anderson are two prejudice and lack luster employees of Cadence Education. I was running late on my birthday 10-24 and was called at 6:06pm by Sandi Bryant. I informed her of my location and that I would arrive shortly. She proceeds speaking to me in a condescending tone stating I need to call if I'm going to be late. I replied agreeing that if I were to be late again I would make sure to call. She responds frantically stating there may not be a next time because my child will be suspended. I asked her why would she be suspended when there's a late fee penalty of $1 per min. This was my 3rd time being late since august... her response was "this shouldn't have happened more than once!" If you are a working mother then you understand this happens occasionally and the last thing you need is a disgruntled employee taking their frustrations out on you because she has to stay late everyday. News flash‼ parents are late sometimes. We are in a populated area where traffic is extreme at times. Where is my grace as a parent?? Especially since I am going to be charged a fee anyway!!! I contacted HOPE ANDERSON who had zero urgency to even respond to my initial complaint. She did not respond UNTIL I THREATENED W/THE MEDIA. She was of no assistance and only further perpetuated the discrimination. She took the side of Sandi instead of actually investigating. I was told my child was withdrawn bc I had been late even though each occurrence was over 30 days from the last and because I had to be "called" for payments. There's no proof that they have EVER called due to a late payment especially when the TADPOLES app SENDS A PAYMENT REMINDER IN THE APP AUTOMATICALLY. Their policy states if no payment by Tuesday the child can not continue. My child NEVER missed a week. So how are those JUSTIFICATIONS for withdrawal?? THIS DAY CARE does NOT CARE ABOUT BLACK AND BROWN CHILDREN. I called CADENCE EDUCATION (headquarters)in Scottsdale's Arizona to make a complaint... No one answered from ANY DEPARTMENT nor did they return my messages. Here is proof that HOPE ANDERSON ONLY RESPONDED WHEN THREATENED WITH MEDIA ATTENTION.

If you have a mixed or brown child, I would strongly encourage you to do thorough research before enrolling here. My intuition was never at peace while my child attended this school. I had to pray over her every single time I left her there because something just didn't feel right. The front office staff, particularly the women at the front desk, were consistently rude and often had dismissive attitudes. During a meeting regarding concerns about how my daughter was being treated, the kindergarten teacher's interaction with her felt manipulative rather than supportive. As a parent, you know when something is off. I wish I had trusted my gut sooner. If you love your child, please carefully consider your options before choosing this school.

From the very first day, it was clear that Oak Hill is more than just an academic institution--it is a community that truly knows and loves each child. The teachers don't just teach; they invest deeply in the hearts and minds of the students. Both of our kids are flourishing here--growing in wisdom, virtue, and joy. The classical model, with its focus on language, logic, and the great works of Western civilization, has been life-changing. Our children come home eager to share what they've learned--whether it's reciting poetry, exploring history through the lens of God's truth, or seeing beauty in math and science. It's incredible to watch them develop a love for learning that feels timeless. If you're a Christian family looking for an alternative to traditional schools, this is the kind of environment you've been praying for. The curriculum integrates faith and reason beautifully, and the faculty partners with parents to form not only sharp minds but also strong character. You can tell that every decision at Oak Hill reflects a commitment to truth, beauty, and goodness -- the foundations of Classical Christian education. Oak Hill serves grades K4 through 12, and every stage feels intentional. The older students model leadership and humility for the younger ones, creating a genuine sense of community that's rare to find anywhere else. If you're searching for a Classical Christian school where your children will be known, loved, and challenged to grow in faith and wisdom, I can't recommend Oak Hill Classical School highly enough. It has been one of the greatest blessings to our family.

The location does not do a good job training their staff for basic medical emergencies. For example, my child started having a seizure and her teachers were standing around not doing a thing. Luckily my wife, who is a nurse, showed up and was able to take charge of the situation. My son started having behavioral issues, after been moved up to a class that had too many students, instead of working with us to resolve the issue, they would call us at work and demand that we pick him up. The calls became so frequent that we had to remove him from the daycare and put in another daycare (he's doing fine in the new daycare). At this point we have been at the daycare for 5 years and have consistently paid them on time every month. Recently, we had a billing discrepancy, they were staying we didn't pay for a week of daycare, my wife spoke with the director (who is no longer there) and was told that she would reach out to their accounting department to resolve the issue. Turns out that she never reached out to the accounting department and they are now telling us that we are delinquent and they are going to kick my kids out of the school. Keep in mind, this course of action is being taken against parents who have been paying on time for the last 5 years... Bottom line, save yourself time, money, and major headaches by NOT putting your child in this daycare.

Branch had so many poor reviews on Google and greatschools.com that it changed its name a few years…read moreago to Gerard Prep School, trying to shake the bad reputation. It didn't work, even after the owner asked faculty, family members, and a couple of parents to write glowing reviews on the internet. (If you read any positive reviews, they are likely written by family members or faculty.) They used to be a pretty decent little school ten years ago. Then, around 2007, the owner/principal leveraged her SACS accreditation and started using the concept of LRE (least restrictive environment) to get the state to pay the tuition for any child who has an IEP in public school. That way, they can recruit public school special ed kids and get the state to foot the bill. The owner/principal claimed that "God put on her heart" to accept IEP kids where no other private Prep schools in the state would touch them, but in reality, the downturn in the economy hurt her business and she needed to get warm bodies in the classrooms to keep her school open. Essentially, she did what landlords do when advertising Section 8 rentals: get the state to guarantee a monthly check. What she didn't anticipate was when all her decent students began leaving in droves, put off by the fact that, despite small class sizes, the teachers spent so much time trying to teach to the 'lowest common denominator", instructional quality suffered. Within a couple of years, they didn't have enough kids who could pass Algebra II, much less offer Trig or Calculus, so they started offering Remedial Math as a mainstream class. Other subjects were equally dumbed-down. Because there were so few students, they got lumped together into combined grades, and teachers had to prepare four or five different lesson plans per week (6th/7th pre-Algebra; 8th Algebra; 9th/10th geometry; 11th/12th Remedial Consumer Math, etc., all way easier than public school classes), as opposed to one or two lesson plans spread out among several classes as they do in public schools. It was a tremendous amount of work, and discipline was also an issue, since so many kids with IEP's also had behavior issues. The principal was very lenient on them, so as not to "offend" and possibly lose any more parents. There's a VERY HIGH teacher turnover rate, because teachers got so burned out trying to manage several classes, all with special ed kids, and NONE OF THE TEACHERS WERE CERTIFIED TO TEACH SPECIAL ED. (This is not against state law, but still doesn't excuse the owners' knowingly accepting Asperger's kids, Autistic kids, severely ADHD kids, Bipolar kids...and then not hiring a parapro or someone else to help in the classroom.) Two kids who were truant more than 70% of the time were never reported to DFCS, because the state kept sending in their tuition checks and the principal didn't want to lose those automatic payments. Since 2012, I personally know of 10 staff members who left...and the school only had 10 teachers working at a time. Two of those staff were acting principals at the time they quit, which is why the owner is still forced to be "principal" as well. There was one substitute teacher on the school's "sub list", and if she wasn't available, teachers were sh*t out of luck. Other teachers often had to give up their one hour of planning period to cover the missing teacher's class, so teachers often went to work sick as dogs. They also had no "sick pay", so if they were out, they did not get paid. Teachers were also forced to bend over backwards trying to give these kids A's and B's. They were given a million chances to retake tests, turn in homework, etc. (One student who was obviously severely developmentally delayed actually took vocabulary tests with a dictionary...and he STILL couldn't pass them.) Discipline was a joke, and she refused to let teachers be honest with parents, even when they expressly asked the teacher's opinion (for instance, "Do you think my kid should be evaluated for Asperger's?" was a question no teacher would answer honestly.) Also, if a prospective parent came to tour the school, and asked to see the 5th grade classroom, for instance, teachers were told to simply show them the room, and NOT to volunteer the information "This is a combined 4th/5th class" unless asked specifically. Also, if a parent asked "How many students are enrolled here?", teachers were told to respond, "We hold 250 at capacity", even though the honest answer was "We currently have 65." The SACS committee should seriously re-evaluate this school. It operates on dishonesty, dumbed-down curriculum, and a complete lack of accountability. If you want real help for your child, and not just a pretty transcript full of A's they didn't earn, stay in public school where your child has a chance at real help. The only thing this "prep" school prepares kids for is the ability to say, "Do you want fries with that?" If they stay open another year, it'll be a miracle.
