You get a free glass of wine between 4-5pm. Breakfast is included and is perfect to start off the morning. The best part is that all rooms are dog friendly. We stayed in the copper suite and it's gotta be our favorite. Love having a shared balcony we can use. You can always sit out the front balcony too. It is strange at first when they have the keys in an envelope for you at the front desk. But the people we did interact with were all very friendly. We've stayed at Stoney brook and mercantile but we love McCloud Hotel the best.

Currently they are open 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday. They have a full bar with bar style seating serving bar style favorite foods along with traditional sit-down dining with a full menu of steakhouse favorites. We had the prime rib and rib eye and they did not disappoint - they were cooked to perfection. The service was good and for a small town up in the mountains this place was busy from opening to closing. Just a tip don't leave without trying to a couple of appetizers. We had the delicious jumbo soft pretzel, and a neighboring table was raving about the sizzli'n mushrooms skillet. This little mountain Town has A LOT to offer while you are passing through. Burney Falls is a must, but if you have time visit the fish hatchery and don't; forget the "Stand By Me" bridge.

We had the lodge decorated, inside and outside to accommodate all our guests. Scott did not hesitate to help us move the furniture, chairs and even got our beer kegs set up. We were able to enjoy the grounds with morning walks, late night talks, a fire pit and the deck with an incredible view. It's truly a weekend the entire family won't forget! The staff were friendly and the entire check in process was easy. For the price, we got an individual tiny cabin with two bedrooms and a bath. It came with a simple kitchen and an awesome patio overlooking the, unfortunately, near empty lake. The staff informed us that the lake had been drained to help fight recent California wildfires, so that made me feel a little bit better. Anyways, the cabin was clean and everything you would need for a nice relaxing stay. My biggest qualm was that the hot water did not work so we were not able to take a shower (unless it was ice water cold). And the Internet did not work - not for browsing or streaming pleasure but simply for cell phone service in such a remote area. All in all, a decent spot to stay in the Shasta Lake area.

After a few minutes a person who had been standing outside the doorway smoking or vaping walked in to help. I thought he was a vagrant at first ... very unprofessionally dressed, ski cap, ratty clothes, tats, etc. Who is hiring these people as front line, customer facing employees? That being said, he was friendly and efficient - just looked overly casual and unprofessional for a decent hotel. Better suited as a guy checking IDs at a dive bar.
