Great location with views of the Art Deco bridge and outdoor patio. Comes across as a pottery barn hipster place at dirt what with all the touristy merch for sales in the style of chalkboard paint, cutsey slogans and upscale water bottles, but has the heart and soul of a laid back coffee shop where you can chill. Some of the staff are stellar, others are not so great, but the stellar ones make up for it! Great plain coffee. Truly tasty. read more

River Roasters is our go to coffee spot when we are in Florence. The staff is super friendly and genuine. The coffee is solid and gets the job done. They also have a nice little curated gift shop. They're expensive, but not compared to Starbucks, and their atmosphere is really calming. The workers are really nice, and one time when my Papà got an in-house latte, and they had enough time, they did some foam art without us even asking them to. It was a nice touch. Coffee was delicious, but the woman that rang us up was super rude and refused to wear a mask. Wish I would have gotten her name, but I unfortunately didn't. Can't imagine there are too many snotty employees who refuse to wear masks there.. so I hope the management speaks with her because it's completely unacceptable. The other employees were sweet and obviously uncomfortable about her not wearing a mask. A message to the management: Your coffee rocks, but please make sure your employees wear masks.. especially when they're at the register! read more

After a bit of shopping, we wandered into this cute little coffeehouse. It was late afternoon, there were people drinking coffee, and playing a rousing game of cards. Inside, there is also a little gift shop with many one of a kind items. We decided to sit on the patio, an amazing view of the Siuslaw River and Bridge. Hubby had coffee, I had the Chai tea. Both presented nicely. It was nice to enjoy the late afternoon breezes along the Siuslaw river and drink warm beverages. Nice place to stop into! read more

I just moved to the area from Portland and I just happen to move into an apartment literally right across the street from this place. My fiancé and I LOVE a good coffee so the first morning right after we move in, we walked across the street to try this place out. First thing we notice was that this place is absolutely adorable. It's not only a coffee shop, but they sell a lot of items such as HydroFlasks, journals, cute trinkets, books, sunglasses, etc. They also roast their own coffee so I thought that was neat!! (Of course I bought their espresso roast ) Now, about their coffee. MY GOODNESS. I can comfortable and honestly say that they have the best coffee that I've ever had and coming from Portland with TONS of coffee shops, that says something. They also have lavender syrup and my fiancé was THRILLED. We have only been moved in for two weeks now but we have gone in for coffee almost every single day. The service has always been great even when slammed with 20 customers all at once, always fast and quick. This is now my go-to place for a delicious coffee and some relaxation out on the deck with that great view of the river. I continue to brag to my friends back in Portland about this place and you bet, I'm taking every single friend here when they visit!! :) read more

One of those places with a bunch of frothy, sugary specialty coffee concoctions...I came in intending to be good and just have plain coffee, but ended up being seduced into a salted caramel latte with whipped f*cking cream. How did THAT happen? In any event, it was delicious...and more importantly, the ambiance was great. I found a great place to sit and charge my phone/check email, in front of a huge picture window looking out over the water. Clientele was kinda suburban yoga-mom/brow-beaten dad/grandma/gramps/spoiled tots on a Saturday stroll......but even that didn't spoil this place for me. Siuslaw. Pronounced si-U-slaw. Okay, now that we have that straight.... Lets get to the coffee! This is such a cute little shop and with great tasting coffee roasted on the premises. This was our third visit and I always love the crafty merchandise also available in the shop. How could I resist the little cushions with an endearing bird quilted onto the front? too cu-u-ute! Our barista Katie was super nice and made me a great Capp. and then kindly recommended a deli nearby where I could grab some grub to go. (I would totally have eaten a bagel or pastry from the cafe, but I can't eat that.) There are tables out back on a deck overlooking the river, and some cozy ones inside as well. I love this place. Delicious coffee with a nice view! I got the snickers coffee (mocha with caramel and hazelnut), it tasted very good. V got an iced almond joy, and that tasted even better! In the past we've enjoyed stopping in at River Roasters for coffee/tea and it has been fine. Today's experience changed all that, unfortunately. I came at a busy time and joined the line. Shortly, an employee came and spoke to someone behind me, took their cup and prepared their beverage. I turned and left. Won't be giving them my business any time soon. I'd recommend the place across from Mo's Restaurant instead. read more

They alway seem willing to cater to my picky drink choices which extend to things like a certain number of ice cubes to bring my drink to the right temperature and etc... The ambiance and industrial building is fantastic, the drinks are good, and the food though a bit overpriced, is good as well. The service however can be a bit shoddy, especially when the place is busy. Today, I saw a barista get extremely rude with a gentleman because the young guy taking orders did not include 2 drinks the gentleman requested. When the gentleman asked the barista about the drinks she was defensive and went on to be extremely dramatic about how mistakes happen and it's not her fault. She was loud and talking very rude while the place was full of customers. I was embarrassed as a bystander, I can't imagine how the gentlemen felt. read more

Coffee Roasters is nice, and probably the best coffee shop in Florence. You can always score a free copy of the Register Guard or Siuslaw News sitting around the shop. Grab a cup and (sans rain) head to the deck on the south side of the building. Watch the tides float in and out and think, "why don't I live here?" (Answer: It's impossible to find a job in Florence, and 7-11 is the only thing open after 10pm) My only problema is the price. $3.50 for a Chai tea? Get out of here! This might be weird, but my favorite part about Coffee Roasters is the bathroom. Check out that faucet and all those framed Siuslaw News articles about the history of the building. SRCR is one of those places that can make a road trip. It's a really really friendly, casual and lovely coffee house, right on the river, with sun and friendly people, and wifi. The coffee of course was great, but the highlight was the apple fritter, which you know I'm going to order. It was a little expensive, but a taste will make it worthwhile. The fritter had a great dough, not gooey, and the topping was just right, not cloying, not sticky, just the perfect amount for the donut. The best I've had.
