When we went to set up the coffee urn no instructions were in the box or the urn there was only dirty used coffee grounds. As we did not have a lot of time to set up after the funeral service and with no instructions making the coffee was a disaster. No lines for amount of water or coffee. When I returned the coffee and hot water urns, we were told the instructions were taped on the bottom of the box . My name was taped over the instructions so we had no idea they were there. Why not put the instructions on the top, near the top or inside the box or unit. Why hide it under my name? read more

I am so totally blown away with the service at River City Rentals. Stephani assisted me with picking out all of our linens for our wedding. I had something in mind and she offered suggestions that worked within the theme of our wedding. I had to add a couple of extra linens and gold mercury votives on after we had outlined the original contract and it was no issue to add these on after the fact. When my husband and I went to pick up the rentals they were ready for us, everything was there and organized, and we were in and out in 3 minutes tops. read more

As others have had nothing but good things to say about River City, I unfortunately had a negative experience with them. First off, the change over in staff led to a lot of miscommunication. I dealt with 3 different people since ordering my rentals, which were only uplights and head table draping. I did have to change my order, as I didn't expect for set up costs to be so high to plug in some lights and put some draping over the head table. We were already paying some people we know to set up our venue, so I thought I would add this to their list of things to do instead of spending a few hundred dollars more. I made sure that if we didn't pay for them to set it up that everything would be included for us to do it ourselves. The girl I was dealing with said everything would be included. The only reason why I even decided to get the head table draping, or swag...whatever it's called is because I saw it in the showroom and thought it would be nice to "dress up" our head table. I paid a deposit for the items and a couple weeks before the wedding, inquired to when I needed to pay the final amount. She said she would be in contact a week before the wedding. The day before the wedding arrives and I remember that I still haven't paid the remaining balance. I have to call the company to make sure that everything is still ready to go for the next day and pay my balance off. Turns out the person I was dealing with no longer works there...fair enough, but I should not have to be the one to call to arrange for final payments the day before my wedding! The next day, my fiancé gets a call from the people helping us set up that the table cloths (overlays) have arrived but no pins or clips to drape them over the head table. They call the company and were given some options on how to set the overlays up, or that they could go out and buy pins or go to the office to pick them up. They don't have time to do this, so just put them over the table as overlays. I had my own overlays and the venue provided us with tablecloths, so I wasn't expecting to pay extra money for something we already had. After talking with the owner of the company, I am told they are a rental company, not decorators and we should have paid the extra money to hire professional decorators to get things the way we envisioned. He said they did everything they could to help out the person who was trying to set up our head table draping, as he called multiple times. The items were also picked up used...well of course, were we supposed to take it off the table before we sat down??? After talking with the people we had setting things is for us, they said the overlays were extremely heavy and they didn't think that pins would hold the material up. The banquet manager was also trying to help them and said that this was not the right material to be draping across the head table. It does look like the material that was used in the showroom, but I am upset that we were not provided with the materials to set everything up. The owner says it must be miscommunication on both parts, as the contact never said pins would be included, but the first person I spoke with knew that I wanted the head table draping/swag, as that's what I saw and pointed out to her in the showroom. Maybe if there wasn't such a turn over in staff there would be a problem with communication... read more

We used River City Events for a business trip to Edmonton and the experience was so seamless and great! We had ordered rolling racks, as we are a fashion show room, and when we showed up to our hotel room the racks had been delivered and assembled in the room for us! The whole process from rental to return was so convenient and smooth, we will definitely rent from River City again! read more
