I've never planned a wedding, but I've been here to be fit for a bridesmaid dress and helped my girlfriend shop for her wedding dress, shoes and accessories, so we dropped in a few times. They have a wide selection of wedding stuff, from decorations and invitations, to bridal party and wedding dresses, shoes and hair ornaments. The service is excellent and swift, but there may be a bit of a wait, so make a stop at Tim Horton's beforehand. The weekends here can be crazy, and there are only five dressing rooms. It seems like every bride-to-be is here shopping on a Saturday afternoon, about six months before her "big day." You can feel the excitement in the air. Not many men in this shop, to be sure. I came into this store with an appointment, and waited over 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any staff member. My bridal party and I were ignored, so we found ourselves a change room for me to try on wedding dresses. The lady who did help us, only helped me into two dresses, then disappeared and my party had to try to figure out how they went on and help me in and out of them. The sales lady came to take chairs we were clearly using (four guests, four coats etc.,two were standing with me in the change room because she wasn't helping me do up the dresses-they were, and I had to tell her not to take half the chairs from us to give to another party). She was supposed to be checking on a specific colour for one of the dresses and told us multiple times she needed to call and find out, but each time she came back and we asked, she said she had to find out still. Very unprofessional . My appointment had run over- because we were waiting for 20 minutes for them to begin with, and a second sales lady told my maid of honour that I could only try one more dress on because other people needed my change room. After a 40 minute "appointment" where my bridal party did more work than any of the staff, we decided to leave. I would never ever rent from them or purchase a dress from this place. I just recently purchased my wedding dress from ABC . The service was AMAZING. The lady that helped me was the nicest , full of great information. They make you feel really comfortable (especially since you need them to help you into the beautiful gowns so they see you in your spanks) . We rented various items from ABC Weddings for our September 1st 2012 wedding. While in the store initially I had really great service and help picking out everything I needed - They even did great when I had to up our order... However when it came to the big day. The chairs were very dirty (It took three of us to clean them for a few hours) The popcorn machine although functioning appeared in poor condition, and serveral of the tables had gum stuck to the bottoms. I sent two emails and have never recieved a response at all - I tried calling once however was just put on hold and thats as far as I got. I would buy from their store for party supplies... however I don't recommend them for rentals. read more

The first time I went to this store with a friend the service was great and the consultant was very helpful. My friend had found her dress in Medicine Hat and it was here at a cheaper price. However, the second time I recommended it to another friend who was 5 months pregnant at the time the experience was horrible. Came all the way down from McMurray to try and find a dress and we left this store feeling like we did the consultants job for her. Guess it all depends on who you get. Looks like there are lots of beautiful decorations etc. but we were so put off by the service we didn't bother to purchase anything. read more

I came by to rent some chairs for Diner En Blanc. There was an old lady sitting in a chair near the front doing something.. not sure what it was.. reading? Anyway, no one helped me even after I walked around the store twice to check everything out. I was the only customer in the store. Finally, I asked the lady if she had any white chairs to rent. She showed me what she had and asked a much younger girl to come and help me out. I did get my chairs but they aren't in the best condition. Yes they are plastic folding chairs but no they are not in pristine condition. I guess it is reflected in the rental price though. They only charged me $5 to rent them for two days. read more

I dropped in with no appointment on a Friday afternoon with my mom and sister to try on gowns. We had the bridal boutique to ourselves (there were customers in the party supply half of the store) but it still took awhile to be met at the door. We felt free to browse and the staff left us to our own devices. One of the women did set up a change room for me, and would swoop in occasionally to clamp the dresses that were too big. Otherwise we were left on our own, which for me was great. It was my first time trying on dresses and my intimidation at not knowing where to start melted away in the casual atmosphere at ABC Weddings. At that stage so early in the game it was nice to not have a salesperson hovering and giving their opinions, but it all depends on what you're looking for. There's lots of room for friends and family, but only one podium for the brides so probably best to go on a weekday. Rooms are spacious for changing, and the selection is affordable (I tried on a $800 dress... but also saw one for over $3000). Generally though the dresses are not as varied or impressive as ones I saw elsewhere. Overall it's a casual environment, not the frilly fancy boutiques you might find downtown. Lots of natural light, and bring some friends so you can get help doing up the dresses since you won't get much assistance from the employees! read more

We rented vases, chair ties and napkins for our wedding from ABC and they were fabulous to deal with. All the linens came clean and wrinkle free. The store isn't the cleanest, but everything besides that was great. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I have dealt with ABC Weddings in Edmonton in the past for minor things in past years for two previous weddings for my daughters and now for my son's wedding this past weekend. They are not my favourite place to shop for wedding supplies - high prices, but the selection is pretty decent and one can get some good inspiration. My daughter-in-law is the one who dealt with them specifically this time around and I was less than impressed. She ordered 220 white chair covers st a cost of $2.30 each plus of course GST. We picked them up 2 days before the wedding and went to the hall to decorate the day before the wedding. The assumption was that they would be clean. Wrong. As we opened each of the 8 bins it was apparent that they were rented out exactly as they had been returned from a previous function. Dirty. Some had food spilled on them, there were grease stains, lipstick and even chocolate milk among other unidentifiable things. A lot were inside out - as they were peeled off the chairs from the previous function. And then there were not 220 as requested! To say the bride to be was upset is an understatement. My daughter is used to organizing functions for her workplace, so offered to call ABC. She was informed that no, they couldn't replace them, they had no more available. Fine. Then some sort of renegotiated price is in order. Reluctantly ABC agreed to $1.20 per chair cover. Remember they are DIRTY and stained and many had tears in them. The volunteer staff at the hall graciously offered to wash the most disgusting and unacceptable ones as a favour to us, which we happily accepted. The bride to be had to phone another place to supply us with chair covers that were shorted by ABC. End price when my daughter in law returned the covers - $1.00 each. And the man informed her that the bridesmaid was rude to him. Sure if telling him that the product is dirty is being rude. Steer clear of a place that doesn't care about customer satisfaction. Sorry ABC - you goofed and won't be getting any more business from us or good reviews either. Bad news travels fast. read more

Loved every minute that I had at abc wedding!!! The consultant was great she knew what she was doing and was very helpful and made it very easy for me ! I left very happy and so did my bridesmaids as we picked out together a beautiful dress for them and I said yes to a wedding dress!!!! Great experince has lots of fun!!! Thank you. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I`VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! Visited this Establishment Sat March 14,2015. Made an appointment to do Bridesmaid dress shopping with my girls.... First off got there received no help what so ever! Grabbed our own dresses then proceeded to try them on, when we asked for some help to do up the dresses, they handed us clips and walked away again. Then Later asking the employee if a certain dress came in a smaller size she responded very rudely, upsetting our party and resulting an argument, who was in the complete wrong. Then had the owner of the store come over to ask us to leave!!! I have never experienced such rude customer service in my life! The owner should have been apologizing to us for the lack of service and her rude employee. Needless to say they didn't get our $1000+ sales nor will we ever step foot in that store again. Went to David's Bridal afterwards and had such amazing service, that just put this store to shame. Brides don't even waste your time here. Very little selection as well. read more

I went in for my bridesmaids gowns, which we had already tried on in a different store, but wanted to order them at a bridal store closer to home. Georgina was amazing! We didn't have to try on the dress again, she just took each bridesmaids measurements for the dress. After entering the information into the computer I was able to double check it with her and then TRIPLE check it when it was printed off. Made me feel really secure about getting the right dress and correct sizes. read more
