I really love Party City - I would shop here a LOT more if the prices weren't so high. But they carry almost everything you can think of. And they have a great supply of costumes even when it's not near Halloween - which is hard to find sometimes! Along with costumes, they also have a great variety of themed dinnerware, serving bowls, Party Favours... oh! And more balloons than you could ever need, along with Helium. I've never seen so many different balloons... and they come up with some pretty great arrangements for them. The thing that I purchase at Party City more than anything else - are little plastic Dixie cups with lids. I make Jell-O shots for almost every party I go to, and so I usually stop by once every 2 - 3 months for these gems. They're perfect for what I need them for.

In addition to having a few specific rows for Halloween Costumes, the rest of the store is filled with all different types of decorations. I needed 80's decorations for my event and didn't want to order on line so I appreciated that the store shelves were stocked and I could walk out with everything that I needed. I also appreciated that when you buy balloons from them that you get them filled up for free in store. It was super busy so if you just want to walk in and walk out with your balloons already done and not wait, then I would recommend making a pick up time for your balloons. I went in about 3 different times for more options from this store and each time all of the staff was friendly and helpful (even when they were being treated disrespectful by a rather rude customer). I will skip the frustration of the one in south common and make the trip here!

When we went to set up the coffee urn no instructions were in the box or the urn there was only dirty used coffee grounds. As we did not have a lot of time to set up after the funeral service and with no instructions making the coffee was a disaster. No lines for amount of water or coffee. When I returned the coffee and hot water urns, we were told the instructions were taped on the bottom of the box . My name was taped over the instructions so we had no idea they were there. Why not put the instructions on the top, near the top or inside the box or unit. Why hide it under my name?

I really like the new location as there is lots of parking, the store is spacious and bright inside and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The wall on the right side of the entrance changes with difference themes periodically. The store is laid out so there is lots of room to look around without getting in other people's way. The paper is displayed by theme along with stickers and embellishments. They carry some unique papers like printed acetate. Ink, markers, ribbon, stamps and die cuts are located near the back of the store. What I was so excited about was to see stamped images on watercolour paper. There was a selection of different images and greetings for cards, each sheet was $1.79. The images can be coloured with Copic markers, watercolour pencils or aqua painters. You cannot walk in and not buy anything. If you spend over ten dollars and you get one scrap buck which does not expire. They offer Saturday crops as well as the occasional weekend crop. The place is very bright and clean with an okay selection - it's definitely not the biggest that I've seen but I think you would get by for a project that you were working on. I love the idea of scrapbooking/creating and enjoying coffee at the same time - I didn't have a coffee though as I was on a mission for my letters! The customer service was lacking though as I asked for help finding anything with letters - stickers, stencils, anything. The lone employee told me that she was pretty sure they didn't have anything. I looked through the store and I found two separate packs of letter stickers and she was surprised when I brought them to the till. I get that you may not always know what's in stock, but I would have expected an employee to come out from behind the till (when she wasn't serving anyone at the time) to double check a few places where she may have seen the product I was seeking in the past. This store is out of the way for me on the north end of the City but it is conveniently located just off St. Albert Trail.

Alyssa helped me at the counter, and she was wonderful -- friendly, patient, and genuinely engaged in making sure I found exactly what I was looking for. With so many Hallmark locations in Edmonton now closed, it's great that the WEM and Southgate Mall stores are still here. These two locations have become the last reliable places in the city to find quality cards, gifts, Keepsakes, and those nostalgic items Hallmark is known for. The WEM store really carries that comforting mix of tradition and thoughtful merchandise. When I worked in Manulife Bldg I regularly stopped and shopped at then Hallmark in Edm City Centre which sadly closed!! Who doesn't need to buy a card, ornament, album, or trinket for a gift? The last few times I have…read morebeen in this store, I was pleasantly surprised to see they had sales. Maybe they are thinking it's a good strategy for their overpriced gifts and to compete with another card store that often has buy one get one 50% off. I noticed the table at the front with albums including ones for baby, and wedding. They would make a great gift and many were marked down at least 30-40% off the ticketed price. I found a premade baby scrapbook which would be ideal for a new mom as she wouldn't have time to scrapbook and could just slap photos on pages already with embellishments and could add the stickers to it. When I went to pay for the album, it was cheaper than the ticketed sale price, yay! I like taking a look at the Christmas ornaments and if you plan on getting one for yourself or a friend, you may want to nab it months before as they can sell out of the popular ones. I have waited until after and the selection is slim but 40-50% off is a more reasonable price if you don't mind putting it on your tree after the day. I'm also a fan of their Peanuts collection. I have the talking Peanut characters they put out for Christmas a few years ago and the prices were good. I bring them out every December and they still talk. If I need a card for any occasion or a holiday gift, I'll be back to check out the selection.
