The Time Capsule happened to be in the area we were so we stopped in. Spacious. Clean. Array of different types of items. Great prices! (Check out that $1 bin of records!) This is a very nice used record shop with lots of really great stuff! Kim, the owner is truly a…read more rare person. One day I visited the shop and asked if she ever gets any old Chet Baker (Jazz) records and she expressed they are pretty hard to come by. She then told she can order a new pressing for me and I agreed. A few weeks later, I was out of the country and got an email from Kim telling me the record had arrived. I couldn't get back to her for weeks and then one day I went into the store to pick it up. Kim saw me and was shocked bc not hearing from me she had just put the record up for sale and only moments before I walked in someone grabbed it. When I asked about the record she felt terrible and explained what happened and I quietly left. A week later I got another email from Kim expressing how terrible she felt and that she'd ordered the record again and this time she wanted to give it me for FREE! I couldn't believe it! A week later I made it into the store and declined to accept it for free but agreed to pay her purchase price. I bought several other records as well and intend to return to give her my business over and over. What a special person she is! And, the shop really is outstanding and full of great stuff and in great condition. If you are looking for old vinylI highly record this place!!

Upon entering, the store is divided into two sections. A used/consignment store in front and a music store in back. The music store is well laid out and all the bins are well organized with 90% being alphabetized. Nice first impression. Everything is well marked and the albums are categorized by genre, with a few niche categories tossed in for good measure. "Girls who rocked, really heavy, etc". Small enough niches that you have to take a peek. Nice selections across the board for all genres. I dug through them all and grabbed records for each one. Nice way to spend an hour or so. Ended up with a couple dozen to add to my collection. Woohoo!!! The owner Kim, was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Wish it wasn't so far for me, but I will definitely be stopping in when I am back up there in a few months.

They have a good selection of older rock albums, but they massively overprice everything. They also…read morehave a tendency to claim an album is a more rare edition than it actually is so they can upcharge. Be sure to check everything on Discogs before buying. They will lower the price if you call them out on their shenanigans, though, so be diligent. Their recent arrivals section is usually pretty good, but the normal, already alphabetized stuff are pretty common records but marked up due to location. Honestly, I only ever look through the recent arrival stuff when I stop in nowadays. But again, check the editions before buying because they will absolutely claim it's a rarer edition when it's certainly not.

When I went in to sell my records, she was constantly getting calls, but she still made sure to give us attention and ensure we were well taken care of. We brought in over 100-150 old vinyl records to sell. We had already done our research and knew they weren't worth much, but we still wanted to see what we could get. Most of the records were from less popular artists, and she patiently explained which ones would sell and which wouldn't. We were expecting her to turn them down, but she surprised us by making an offer for the whole lot at a fair price. She even added a bit more to her initial offer. The service was excellent, and I would definitely return if I ever decide to sell more of my vinyl records. Just make sure to call ahead, as she mentioned that she's getting busier.
