Hey there - Support your local record stores. Indie shops, labels, radio stations, venues, artists, etc. are what keep the scene alive. Shotgun review: - Small, cozy store - Reasonable prices - Knowledgeable staff - Friendly, welcoming environment - Huge selection of alternative music on all formats - Smaller but still mighty selection of other genres on all formats - Iconic tenure in the Providence music scene - long live Armageddon

So excited to find this horror movie soundtrack compilation by Goblin at Armageddon.

A true classic record store. As usual, I left with a box of great stuff. Thank you for being there.

Meh, I've got mixed feelings on this shop…read more On the one hand, it's a classic record shop with a large volume, particularly in the rock/classic rock category, but also decent offerings in jazz, soul, and blues. As mentioned, they do have some offerings of mint, unopened, newer indie releases. Prices are generally reasonable on their used stuff, though I wouldn't go so far as to say cheap (at least not for any good albums in decent shape). That said, I've certainly broadened my collection with a few good finds here and have appreciated its presence. Finding a gem or two is a usual occurrence here if you look hard enough. On the other hand, for me this shop lacks personality. It reminds me of the music shop in Low Fidelity, except there are no witty debates over what qualifies as "good music", and there's often not even any music being played in the shop. Recently when I brought some out of town music-head friends in for them to scour a bit, the owner was overheard talking shit about the customers. All in all, in a world of struggling or dying record shops (one that I preferred on Wickenden closed down about 2 years ago), its certainly a blessing that Round Again is still around. With it's lack of offerings in alternative genre's however, I often prefer some of the other record shops PVD has to offer: -SDC Audio and Video on Angell St. has a surprising volume of records and the owner is friendly and flexible. -Analog Underground and Armageddon on the West End are smaller, but cater to more indie and metal/punk respectively. All of these shops will be happy to throw on an album that you are debating about, or to put in an order for a request you haven't been able to find

As I left, I told the store owner to "have a good one", and he quipped back rudely. Yelp did not offer have a zero star option, but I am more impressed with its service than that of Round Again.

Falling for the trend, I had to get my hands on my own Labubu! Labubu is a small monster with high, pointed ears and serrated teeth. I hurried over to Newbury Comics and they had THE MONSTERS - Have a Seat Vinyl Plush Blind Box, THE MONSTERS - Exciting Macaron Vinyl Face Blind Box, The Monsters Coca-Cola Series Figures Blind Box, and The Monsters Lazy Yoga Series Blind Box behind the checkout counter. There is a limit of purchasing 3 of each type and no holds. A few hours later, I saw an update on the post that Have a Seat and Exciting Macaron Blind Box were sold out. I am so glad Newbury Comics carries these blind boxes and even have a whole Pop Mart section. I've also purchased hippers. Hippers are adorable decorative mini figures come with adhesive tape to stick onto your laptop, desk, phone, bookshelf, and more. I've stuck them on my monitor and my desk organizer. I spent a good portion of time sorting through records, enjoying the search however upon getting ready to check out, the owner had arrived and had the staff price out the records-which was frustrating that they weren't premarked (excluding the one I picked up that was marked $1.99 from a previous owner, then offered to me for $15) The owner proceeded to instruct the staff to charge the highest price for each of the record listings online, making what I had thought would be a fun thrift into a more expensive outing than planned. Ended up narrowing down to 3 records, mostly as Id taken up so much time having them find prices that I felt bad not getting them. Witnessed the owner be incredibly rude to customers who questioned prices, telling one person to get out when they questioned a $15 price tag for a paperback of to kill a mocking bird. There is value in vintage, I recognize that- however this shop was also selling a preowned shein cardigan for $22, which is pretty laughable, It's reasonable to set high prices for things Very cool store, but there's no need for the hostility towards customers who questioned prices.

They put a LOT of effort into highlighting BIPOC & queer authors in their collection. The range of genres & narratives - especially considering the tiny size of the store - is a masterclass in diverse inventory. The very best thing about Heartleaf, though, is the manager. She alone is worth a visit to the store. If she's napping, it's a cardinal sin to disturb her. You'll just have to come back another time to give her a scratch behind the ears. (Penny is the manager. Penny is also a cat. I promise I'm not randomly scratching humans behind the ears.) Thank you Caroline & Mads for everything you do. Long live Heartleaf!
