I'm so disappointed. I went with a friend that has been going here for a very long time. Helen the owner was very nice and I loved that she had many nail designs to choose from. The only problem is that she didn't do my refill very well. After my nails were done, I thought she had done a wonderful job, they looked so pretty and shaped perfectly. I left and decided I would bring my daughter there that night to get her nails done. We went back within a couple of hours and as my daughter's nails were being done, I noticed that one of my nails felt weird, so I kept looking at it and saw a very tiny hairline crack. I told Helen about it and she said it was nothing. So, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. We left (my daughter didn't really like the way her nails were done) and within two days I noticed the crack had gotten a lot bigger and now there was a crack on the opposite side, so I super-glued it and went back to her shop. She told me it wasn't her fault because she hadn't originally put the acrylics on my nails. I understood that but what I realized then was that at the time she had done the refill, she had only put the new acrylic at the bottom to fill in the gap. She didn't put a layer over the top. I don't know if that was the reason, but I've been getting my nails done for awhile and have never run into this problem. Now when she "fixed" my nail, she sanded down where the cracks were then put acrylic on top, painted it up again (didnt do a good job), charged me $2 and sent me on my way. She didn't put the nail glue before putting the acrylic. In four days my nail broke and bled. I got my nails done a little over a week ago and I now see two more hairline cracks. I won't be coming back here again! read more

HORRIBLE! !!. The lady I think her name is HELEN. She was very rude . I wanted to change my polish color after she did a few fingers, she became angry and gave me an attitude and began speaking to her other employees in her language. Came here to get a wax and I had a good experience. The lady who did it was quick and painless as possible. She said she has been doing this for 30 years, and it shows. I didn't catch her name but I'd recommend this place to others. The price was also great! read more

I went to Ritz nails because I was rushing and my normal nail place was closed. I was disappointed in the hygiene of the products they used on my nails and also the customer service wasn't the best. Its cheap so if you want to pay less the overall quality will be less. Helen is the sweetest of them all but I just think they can at least try being nicer to the customers. read more

OMGI will never ever ever go back here again the owner Helen was so rude to me I think she was having a bad day because there was also another client that was there telling them that they don't know what they're doing and complaining and I think she took it out on me while she was treating me so horrible and I told her to calm down that that's not a way to treat her customers and she responded by telling me well that's my tone that's my tone I couldn't believe it I can't believe how someone can treat customers that way will never go back there again she is so rude to her customers no wonder the customers there were giving her attitude I recommend to never come here if you want a good service you will not get it here . The staff is very friendly and proud of their work and business i think, the owner proudly told me they had been in the location 12 years without me asking for that info :) I am writing after my first visit, so I guess I don't have a lot to compare it to, but when I went they started with my right away and Henry did very careful work on both my pedi and mani. I agree they could use some new polishes on the wall, but when I was there there were at least several OPI colors to choose from. It is a tiny little shop so it does feel a bit cramped, but they seemed to keep everything clean and work hard and the price I think is great, I think it was 23 for spa pedi/mani? Yes, tips are cash, I am glad I happened to have some on me, so I can't say how they would have reacted if I needed to tip with the card, I will just try and remember to have cash when I return :) I did kind of wish they could have gotten me out alittle faster (so no I don't think the service was rushed at all, maybe the time I was there?) maybe started my mani while my tootsies were soaking :) but they are a small shop with limited space and workers so no biggie. I think it's a fine place for some inexpensive pampering. read more

Great place with lots of nail color choices! Good prices and great service! Cons are that they sometimes don't use autoclaved instruments and switch nail technicians in the middle of the procedure. Open every day of the week until 8 pm. read more

I just moved to Pasadena and was in need of a sanitary and relaxing nail salon. After trying a couple places, I finally found the place! As soon as I walked in, I felt comfortable. They are happy here and that made me happy, but most importantly they are very clean and did a fabulous job. Most salons can't get the filing right, but Helen knows exactly what I was asking for. Used to be my "go to" salon ~ until the glass bottle of nail polish I bought from them shattered in my hands when I tried to open it at home leaving shards of glass sticking out of my fingers ! If I could give this place a negative amount of stars, I would. I went to get my nails done with the aid of my husband (I'm blind). It took the nail artist 10 minutes to finish. I thought that's too fast... Not a stranger to mani pedis lady. Later, my husband told me that the woman wasn't even looking at my nails while she was filing. No wonder it felt odd: Each nail a different length Each a different shape The nail polish felt lumpy after it dried Some places didn't even have polish on them My husband said that I could definitely do a better job blind and drunk. I didn't even bother to make a complaint since I just saw how another customer who was making her own complaint (when I was sitting to wait for my appointment) was told "It's fine" and then completely ignored. Same nail artist, if you could call her that. Is she just HORRIBLE at her job or did she think that I wouldn't be able to tell because I can't see? But that just makes her a HORRIBLE person so I will choose to think that she can't do manicures. Benifit of the doubt. I highly suggest to anyone who cares about wasting money that you go elsewhere. I had to pay another salon to fix it and boy, what a difference. The nail artist at this salon said she was apalled and took a picture first for a "before" and "after" photo as a teaching tool for her students. It was put on the wall with a few comments that was more of a cautionary tale. No the name of the salon was not mentioned, although I would be more than happy to shout it across California. After my messed up manicure, she stood up, told me that she's finished and stared at my husband as he paid. He held out $2 to her and she snatched it away with a hurrumph. Please consider this review to have less than 1 star I mean it...if you swept my hand across a towel, the jagged edges would have caught. I have never had to write such a terrible review and I don't think I would again since I am never going back to Ritz again. read more

My daughter called & made us appointment's at 3PM. It took an hour before we started our services. Helen did my fill/repair of 2 nails. She was so ROUGH my daughter came to check on me. The 2 nails that were broken were ripped off by Helen. OMG I have never had such pain! No offer to soak them & no gentle removal. We had not been here in years. Helen was asking if this was our 1st time here. When my daughter replied "No" she said "Why have we not been coming?" My daughter said "We are here now" Helen went on & on about the 200 new nail polish colors they had. My nails look a HOT mess. She did not smooth the surface so I have all these lines & ridges. The paint job is awful! Missed the corners & got polish on my skin. Questioned me on who did my nails last. I felt like she was punishing me for going somewhere else prior to coming in. I will never have Helen do any service for me.! Tracy gave my daughter a fantastic pedicure! Just be prepared for Helen barking orders at this poor girl! She tells her help this customer, No help this one instead because I know what she wants. Very unprofessional! We only went here because our usual location is closed on Sundays. read more
