    Chicken Francaise

Since my last review years ago, Ritz has really improved in the past 2 years and has been consistently good. Just wish they were open an hour later especially on Fridays. Great weekday morning breakfast specials. Basically cheaper than making eggs at home. The chicken Francaise is better than most Italian restaurants in the area - No Joking. Enough for 2 people easily. I typically pack up half and make it into a delicious chicken Francaise sandwich for the next days lunch. Oh, it comes with a salad too. Not sure what brand creamy Italian they use, but it's soooo good. Order this without hesitation.

A local diner that had been there for years! IT is inherently a part of the greater LIVINGSTON community. My children & I dined there often and what you get besides good reliable meals & service is the feeling of being surrounded by the pulse of this lovely community. Kids traditionally pack the place on opening nights after LHS Theatre performances... or friends reunite there with other frequently.., or just drop in for matzah ball soup ( the best!) Either way it's a great place to gather w/ the rest of the folks that make up this wonderful town! Even after you move away, you always return to The Ritz to get a taste of home.

Nice diner in Livingston. Needs some updating. Service good . Breakfast was ok. Big parking lot .

Old school, retro looking place which is easy to miss. Saw reviews about the service but I had nothing but a good experience. The food was excellent, Marions salad is a must, omelette was a good size with lots of home fries and the burger was monster sized.

The Ritz (fried chicken sandwich) & the Marion salad

Wow the reviews are terrible. Why? I haven't been here since I was a child and honestly it was a great brunch! Marion the owner is a sweetheart and our service was awesome! Couldn't have been nicer. They have plenty of tables and booths. Everyone enjoyed! Tried the Marion salad (excellent!!) and The Ritz chicken sandwich. SO good. Classic diner and for all those who had an awful experience, go back and give them a shot to make it right. :)

Bland eggs benedict with broken Hollandaise sauce

Worst eggs benedict I've ever had. And it was $19. No salt or pepper on any other food. Was extremely bland. Did not receive my extra Hollandaise sauce and I'm glad I didn't because it was broken. I don't mind paying a little extra for food when it's good, but this was totally not worth it. I can't believe you have even a 2.6 rating. You're 3.9 rating on Google is generous. Definitely contacting triple D. Hopefully they revisit and see what you become. Food is way too expensive for the quality.

I came here today for the first time and it was a pretty solid standard New Jersey diner. Service was pretty fair and around 2 PM. The place was hopping. Obviously they do very well here I had a burger that was a regular diner burger that suited my needs

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

Chopped salad - a variety of mixed greens and veggies well chopped. Nicely prepared. Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos - 3 tacos with large chunks of fresh Mahi Mahi. The interior is bright and contemporary with a farmhouse vibe. Plus plenty of perfectly positioned screens to watch your favorite game. The service was on point for the most part. Our server was great but I think he was working too many tables bye himself so we kinda missed the opportunity to order a second round of drinks. [Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

Whether it's at the bar or a table outside try to make a reservation to secure your seat. One of the times I went was on a Wednesday and the place was packed our wait was about 20 mins and it was well worth it. The menu changes daily so don't go back expecting to get the same thing you ordered the last time. To be quite honest of all the items I ordered two did not stand out although sounding promising The lobster roll, the bread was mediocre and the filling was scarce. The pizzette was also ehhh. Nothing impressionable. However the oysters, fully dressed and ready for consumption were pops of freshness and flavorful jellies exploding in your mouth. The corn was a nice touch. The mussels were in this sauce that was to die for. Full of garlic and creaminess paired with about 3 slices of sourdough bread perfect for soaking. The crostini appetizer, drooling thinking about it. Prosciutto with honey and mozzarella is the best combination.now for the chicken Milanese. Perfectly crisp with tomatoes I'm not sure what they put in the salad but delicious! Overall it's worth a happy hour with great deals. And even the dinner entrees are worth the visit. Third time back will be soon.
