I'm not sure whether the individual sent out was new to the field, but there were problems all the way through. When I called to see if I could switch companies, I was told "No". The first furnace ordered, by them, was a "Downflow". One would expect from the name, that this type would be installed in an attic. When I asked about this, I was told "oh, yeah we can change it", because it was going in my basement. The installation left a hole in my wall and the new unit (which they came to measure for before ordering) went past the door frame and left me unable to close my utility/laundry room door. When I called to ask about coming back to fix it. I was told "maybe a curtain could work instead". I moved on and took the loss. Now they refuse to remove me from their calling list and keep calling with sales calls. When I tell them to stop calling and "fuck off", They call back like 8 year olds playing on the phone in the 80's. This is not a business I can recommend in ANY way. Stay far away unless you don't mind having your home damaged and then being harassed by the people who did it.

I had paid prior (never do this) and Eddie said they would refund me the $408 dollars on the work order right away. Contacted him recently when I realized my CC had not been credited. He said he would send me a check the next day. This was 4/22, I still don't have it and he isn't responding to my text. Lesson learned, pay at the end and make sure the billed amount is correct. The team is on time, respectful, and will wear masks in your home if you request it (Covid safety - yay!) Pricing has been fair and quality good (knock wood!). They've never stepped back and gone above the quote. COI paperwork and master plumber licensing is provided expediently, make sure you request it when booking them if your building needs it - this can create a delay in scheduling if you forget since they need to get their insurance company to issue the COI. Thirty days are given for full payment, making emergency work so much easier to manage, and they take credit cards. God help me, I hope I don't need plumbing repairs this year, but if I do I'll definitely be calling them again.

In the middle of executing my plan for a DYI project, I figured out that Home Depot and Lowes does not cut sheet metal for their customers. Yet, I still needed to acquire 2 13x25 inch panels of sheet metal. So, I let Yelp.com point me in the right direction to a business. On my second call, I found Karl at Duct Gauge Heating. He asked me about my aims for the project and I shared that I was hoping that the project wouldn't be too expensive. He was so helpful and knew the exact type of metal that would be magnetic. He offered to cut them from scraps within his shop and, realizing that I needed to pick up the pieces on Saturday, he shared he would leave them just outside his door for me. As planned on Saturday, I found them just outside that door. He delivered two perfectly sized pieces, and when I returned home, I discovered that the pieces fit the frames beautifully. He knows exactly how to "Measure twice & Cut once!" and he was more than fair about the cost to both his business and his customer! These are the makings of a good local business. He first spent about 30 minutes checking the unit, then gave me the price and left to buy the part. After that, he spent another 2.5 hours fixing his car before coming back. When he returned, he spent less than 30 minutes repairing the unit and then rushed to leave because he had another job. While he was here, he complained that the attic was too hot and even asked for help fixing his car. The AC worked right after he repaired it, but it stopped working again within 30 minutes. Since he had already left, I contacted him and asked him to come back to fix it again. He came back the next day but did not really do anything. He said the unit was making sound and running. He didn't even go up to the attic to double check again. so he claimed the outside unit needed to be cleaned. He then quoted me $400 per unit, for a total of $1,200 to clean three units, which I believe was extremely overpriced. I told him to clean only one unit first so we could see if the AC would work, but he refused and left immediately. On the same day, I had to call another company to schedule service. I paid another $200 for the repair, plus $290 to clean the outside unit, and the AC has worked without any issues since then. The other specialist told me that DC Air had installed the replacement part in the wrong area, which caused the unit to stop working again. I found this company on Yelp and saw that it had a Yelp Guarantee, but after this experience, I no longer trust these so-called reviews and guarantees. It is better to find someone through friends or people who have actually hired and recommended them before.
